«Горгород» basically is a wordplay. Meaning of the part «Гор» is complicated. In this album oxxxymiron invented drug called «гор» that is somehow makes from ore. Also there is word in Russian language «гора» means “mountain” and it is pretty similar to prefix «гор». Word «город» means “city”. So «горгород» might be translated as “mountain City” or “Drugcity”. Both of these translations are correct minding the conception of this album. «Горгород» is a corrupted city with hard drug traffic built on a mountain.

1. Not from the beginning. - Everything is like in films, when they show the plot "not from the beginning." The protagonist writer Mark is in bed with Alice. Well, the story begins with a call.

Песня «Где нас нет» (In A Place Without Us) - это набор цитат, этакий сборник расхожих фраз, многие из которых не раз слышали в своей жизни и мы. И в этом хоре голосов совершенно не остаётся места для того, чтобы высказались главные герои песни. Им просто не дают возможности ответить.
Что ж, попробуем узнать наших героев поближе, раз они сами ничего не рассказывают о себе. Вот молодой человек, которому не повезло с родителями и с тем местом, где он родился и вырос. Ругань и упрёки его родителей отчётливо слышатся в этом хоре голосов, ведь именно с них началось движение нашего героя вниз, они были первыми, кто не поверил в него. «Ну-ка, слёзы вытер!», «То ли дело их сын», «Из него ничего не выйдет», - вот что слышит он, ещё будучи ребёнком. Слышит и нелестные характеристики себя от других взрослых людей: «Ваш ребёнок замкнут и не ладит с коллективом», «Ты ничем не лучше других». Слышит досужие сплетни и будничный конформизм окружающих: «Всему двору сосала», «Всё разворовали», «Чудес не бывает». Так формируется его мировоззрение, и ростки фантазии, пробуждающийся интеллект оказываются скованы кандалами действительности: «Всё в облаках, как в детстве, витает», «Хули ты умничаешь, сука?».
Но оставим на время молодого человека и познакомимся с героиней. Как мы увидим, в их судьбах немало общего, и в композиции песни прослеживается определённый параллелизм. В отличие от героя - выходца из социальных низов, наша героиня родилась в богатой семье. Но счастья ей это не прибавило. Как мы видим, у богатых тоже есть свои проблемы - «Постеснялся бы своим блядям звонить при детях», «Мне тут напели, кто-то в кресло вице-мэра метит», «Почему про отца твердят, что он властный социопат?». Как и героя, девушку невысоко оценивают её родители: «Младшая будет красавица, а эта так, в довесок», «Что за ветер в голове?», «Непутёвая недотёпа с самого детства». Героиня сталкивается с проблемами во внешнем мире: «Пастырь поцеловал, лазал под сарафан», «Частный пансионат её нрав исправит, как высококлассный остеопат», - её никто не слышит, у неё нет права просить о помощи, её отсылают с глаз подальше. И её судьба ломается, как и жизнь молодого человека.
Точкой невозврата и в её, и в его жизни становится встреча с наркотиками. «На, сделай пару тяг - стены полетят», - предлагают нашему герою. «Съешь их, добавишь серой рутине цветов, оттенков», - протягивают дозу отчаявшейся девушке. И снова герои молчат, не сопротивляются, предоставляя жизни право решать за них. «Чё, ништяк, по шестьдесят - бери сейчас!», - и вот герой покупает запретные вещества, но по неосторожности выдаёт себя. «Скажи, где взял?», - тянутся, тянутся ниточки, и наконец притягивают неизбежное - строгач, то есть заключение в колонии строгого режима. Это - конец, перелом, после которого не оправиться.

Девушку ждёт другая судьба - эксклюзивный реабилитационный центр и выздоровление. Но что случится в её жизни дальше, после выписки? Сомневаюсь, что эта жизнь станет лучше, интереснее. Она уже раздавлена, потеряна для этого мира, и всё, что ей остаётся - тянуть дни до очередного срыва и возвращения в реабилитационный центр.
Мы добрались ещё до одной точки, где пути наших героев пересекаются. В конце дороги, которую прошёл молодой человек, его ждёт смерть. От чего - бог знает, наркотики ли сделали своё дело, алкоголь, какой-то несчастный случай, что угодно. И снова звучит голос заботливой матери: «На могильном камне пусть выбьют как-нибудь пошикарней». Что это, зачем эта попытка приукрасить реальность? Но посмотрите, что говорит мать девушки: «Вместо поздравлений пусть вышлет как-нибудь поскромнее», - кажется, она делает то же самое, что и родители героя, только с точностью до наоборот. Пока бедные пытаются сделать смерть «пошикарней», богачи изо всех сил пытаются выглядеть «поскромнее». И это очередное отражение вывернутой наизнанку морали этих людей, которая позволила прерваться двум жизням, подтолкнула двух молодых людей к разрушению и гибели.
Наконец, я подошел к самому главному - смыслу припева в песне Oxxxymiron «Где нас нет». Что же это за место, где нас нет, где рубиновый закат и невиданный рассвет? Строки эти можно трактовать трояко. Их можно понимать, как очередную отговорку людей, окружающих наших героев. «Хорошо там, где нас нет», - к этому сводится вся мудрость припева, если понимать его таким образом. Это означает отсутствие какой-либо надежды на то, что жизнь здесь и сейчас вообще способна стать лучше, а значит, не стоит и пытаться идти вперёд. Именно это они и внушают героям на протяжении всей песни.
Можно увидеть в припеве и другой смысл: это те мечты, невыразимые желания героев, которые они переживают, но не в состоянии поделиться ими с кем-либо среди окружающих. «Услышь меня и вытащи из омута», - молят они, но, увы, их мечтам не суждено стать реальностью. К тому же стоит признать, что они имеют мало представления о том, как на самом деле выглядит их счастье, и страна мечты больше похожа на сказку, чем на действительность: «Где милосердие правит, где берега кисельные». И наконец, третий способ истолковать строки припева - всё это лишь бред изменённого сознания, блуждающего в наркотическом тумане. «Во сне я вижу дали иноземные», - всё это действительно лишь сон, не имеющий никакого отношения к мрачной действительности.

Yo bro, the '10 Little Negros(the other word there)' is a literature book that was written back in 1939 in England by Agatha Christie, and the word there, it's not there trying to offend someone, but this book is actually goes by 'And Then There Were None' due to political correctness in modern world. In Russia it's still goes by the original title though.
The reaction is ok though. But to really understand the lyrics you gotta spend like 2 hours on genius, reading all the annotations and the actual lyrics without music. And watch some video about the meaning ahahah. Yeah, it's kinda hard to catch every phrase on this album, but this is what makes it good. You can find somethings new in tracks even if you listened to it 20 times. And the rhymes, oh god save my soul, they are unmatchable

For the last one song, In Russia we say sometimes "without us" when we talking about smth good, but we don't have it in our life and place we live. There are good things, good people, but somewhere in another place "without us".And the song is about typical cliche phrases that children can listen from parents and different situations in childhood, which can transform in a future in big psychotraumas.

«Не с начала» открывает повествование альбома и показывает сцену в постели Марка с некой Алисой, где писатель предлагает рассказать свою историю, которая началась со звонка Киры «в понедельник». В звонке литературный агент спрашивает про прогресс в работе, так как через месяц подходит крайний срок сдачи рукописи, кроме того, до неё дозвонился «повёрнутый фанат» с упрёками и предупреждает Марка, что он может дозвониться и до него
«Кем ты стал» обращение того «повёрнутого фаната» к главному герою, где он высказывает свои претензии писателю, который был ему «старшим братом, хоть и мне не родня». 1. Не с начала. Всё как в фильмах, когда показывают сюжет "не с начала" флешфорвард, короч. Главный герой писатель Марк в постели с Алисой. Ну а история начинается со звонка.
Звонок: Кира - литературный агент Марка, отчитывает его за пинание хуёв. Так же сообщает о каком-то фанате который до неё дозвонился, и скорее всего дозвонится и до Марка
2. Кем ты стал. Трек от имени фаната который читает Марка с детства, всё-таки дозвонился. Доебался до Марка, мол уже не тот, зажрался.
Звонок: Кира сочувствует о том, что фанат дозвонился. Сообщает о том что будет попойка у "Фон Глена" (может не так услышал), в честь переизбрания "горячо любимого мэра". Так же упоминается наркотик "гор"
3. Всего лишь писатель. Писатель всё-таки сходил на вечеринку, где рассказывает о своей похуестичности к окружающему миру, к тому что творит мэр. "Я не подхожу для борьбы со злом". Уходя с вечеринки, он видит "её", это Алиса. Снова наркотик "гор": "смотрите-ка меня даже "гор" почти не берет"
4. Девочка Пиздец. О отношениях с Алисой. Любовь, все дела. Самое обидное, что всякие тп будут слушать трек вне контекста альбома.
5. Переплетено. Звонок в начале трека: Кира не может дозвониться до Марка. Говорит о том что его видели с Алисой и эти отношения могут быть опасны. Говорит не ведись на всякую изотерику к которой относится Алиса, типа "Переплетено".
Марк под воздействием Алисы загнался, по поводу пиздеца творящегося в городе. Уже не похуй. В конце трека описывается "наркоимперия по артериям города", как понял наркотик "гор" делается в лабораториях, из отходов добычи руды, под горой. Возможно, добычу "гора" организует Гуру. Из "Слово мэра": "Тебе промыл мозги идиот под горой".
Звонок: Становится понятно, что главарь "Переплетено", некий Гуру и они радикалы. Они вдохновляют Марка, который давно ничего не писал. Кира просит отстаться Марка с её ребёнком на вечер. Спеть Колыбельную, потом он мог бы дописать книгу, в тишине и покое.

@@johnlucent 1. Как написано здесь, фанат, из-за того, что так и не принял новые мысли писателя, хотя по ходу сюжета Марк как раз немного вернулся к старым идеям.
2. Убийцы от мэра, но тут не совсем ясно, с одной стороны, он отпустил его, показав населению своё милосердие, и больше Марк стал не нужен, но с другой, не совсем понятно, зачем ему его убивать?
3. Убийцы от Гуру, чтобы подставить мэра. Каким образом, я расписал ранее.
4. Самоубийство, так как Окси делал жест выстрела себе в голову на концертах на моменте убийства в этом треке, и в целом это возможно, если Марк не решил, что делать дальше, и какую сторону выбрать. Но опять же, выстрел обрывает слова, а логично, что он договорил бы перед этим фразу.
5. Сам Окси, хотя это довольно абстрактно. Мои мысли на основе «КТО УБИЛ МАРКА?»: Убив Марка, он убил старого себя, но это больше как раз про сюжет того трека с описанием старой травмы.

The album tells the story of a writer named Mark. Some of the information the listener learns from Mark's answering machine recordings inserted at the beginning and/or end of the tracks, all of which feature the voice of Kira, Mark's literary agent.
"Not From the Start" opens the album's narrative and shows a scene in Mark's bed with a certain Alice, where the writer offers to tell his story, which began with a call from Kira "on Monday." To be honest, you have to live in Russia and live thought all that to truly understand what Oxxy is talking about in this album. After so many years(for me at least, because when album was released I was still young to understand all of this) I understood the idea of this album and the problems that were taken here. But anyways, after watching this reaction I listened album more and have to say that Oxxy is the goat of RUrap.

Горгород = Gorgorod, Gorod means City in Russian , so Gorgorod = the city of Gor (“Gorcity”). It’s the place where everything described in these tracks happens.
Gor is a drug. So Gorgorod is the city where the drug Gor is produced.
The whole album is fiction story with a plot.
The main character of this story is Mark. Mark is not Oxxy (although some of his thoughts may be Oxxy’s thoughts). He is a popular writer.
The album is the story of a writer rethinking his role in the society of a fictional town.
The city is full of corruption, the government is evil.
The woman calling him is Kira, his literary agent.
The plot is the following:
Kira calls Mark. She says that his twisted fan will meet him. His fan meets him and accuses him of being spoiled (2nd track).
Mark thinks about his role in society. He says that he is not a politician, he is “just a writer”. He won’t fight with evil. (3rd track)
He meets Alice and falls in love with her (4th track). Under the influence of Alice Mark becomes more radical, he starts to write political staff. He meets the leader of the opposition (his name is Guru). Mark wants to join opposition. Kira calls Mark. She says that his book is highly politicised. She is worried about him. Mark is involved in conspiracy against the mayor. Mark meets the Mayor. Mayor wants to kill him but gives him one last chance. He says that Mark can’t be with Alice. Mark is going down the street, he is happy that he is alive. He is okay that he won’t be with Alice anymore. Then there’s a gunshot. Mark is killed but we don’t know who did it.
Oxxxymiron studied at Oxford in "medieval English literature", so there are a lot of references and double meanings in his turnip. even most Russians did not immediately understand the album, one had to read several reviews to understand.
