Not only one of the greatest detective movies of all time but also one of greatest films of the noir genre/style from screenwriter John Huston making his directorial debut!

Why did Joe Cairo come to Spade's apartment and assume he had the Falcon? Why did the ship captain deliver the Falcon to Spade? Why didn't Spade just run off with the Falcon for himself?
The bridge shown is the bay bridge, not the golden gate. The three remaining movie props including the one Borgart dented when he dropped it are worth millions.
Nice Synopsis man. The first time I didn't get the movie, then multiple times I got the hang of it and I enjoyed the dialogue, the characters, the ending. You know I just recently made a review of this one and I don't know if you would be interested to check it out and see what you think? See ya! ;)

The maltese falcon, greatest detective movie ever made. Best of 1940s film making.

So in the story, we/they never see the real Maltese Falcon - and that's the name of the movie! ;-) Good synopsis.
thanks I had trouble following the plot because of how awesome everyone is in it :)
To place the price of the falcon; $5000 in 1931 is $49,449 in 2018.
If the minimum price at auction is one million in 1931, that's $16,740,132.45 in 2019.
In 1931 $5,000 would buy you a house!
That's not the price of the falcon. That's just what Cairo was offering Sam since he didn't know it's true price.
One of the Maltese falcon’s they had sold at an auction for over $4 million dollars
