I agree, just type on youtube search bar about 'noir short film' and see how many amateur filmmakers are appealed by the genre and are doing it themselves
Just a couple things to add: 1. The first Film Noir is actually considered to be be 'Stranger on the Third Floor' from 1940...The last is debatable as well, likely 'Odds against Tomorrow' from 1959. Also on Maltese Falcon slyly portraying Joel Cairo as Gay, watch how he handles the cane he holds and nearly inserts in his mouth as he first talks to Sam Spade. It's no accident....

The chanting faces clip is from "Murder, My Sweet." I assumed you meant the older noirs. If I missed any, I'm sure someone will notice.
There a Film Noir version of Logan now and a Fan Made Film Noir version of Batman 1989, wonder what Spider-Man Movie would make a good Film Noir (and I am familiar with the comics)
Currently writing an essay for my college with the question "A detailed analysis of the genre/style conventions of noir cinema with specific reference to the “Maltese Falcon” trailer and the “Double Indemnity” Trailer." and you made good points with references and it could be really useful to me, i would source and site the video but my tutor doesn't allow any like user made content

I agree that clips isn't really that rude. The way he's kinda rude throughout the film is more of a very subtle patronization. I didn't really want to devote that much time to explaining the idea so I just through that clip in.

Nice essay, but too bad the narration used words that they don't know how to pronounce...I'm guessing that they found them in a book somewhere and copied them to make themselves sound more erudite.
@@MrPhucktard I see those now, yes. You're right that those are mispronounce (except paranoia sounds ok to me). But those examples come from direct quotes, names, or are just simple mistakes. We didn't pick those words to sound "erudite".

The maltese falcon is the best detective movie ever made. Humphrey bogart nailed the character of Sam spade. He owned it then and he owns it now.
