1984, one of my favorite years, such a fun movie.
Freshman in HS in ‘84. Being old enough now to appreciate how innocent we were, makes me kinda sad . I think of all the the places we had to go to for social interaction. Dollar movie theaters, roller rinks and the ARCADE! Kids today have none of that. They live in dangerous online spaces we can’t see. 😩 At least I got them to watch a lot of fantastic movies from our younger years. Damn I hate getting old😝. Have a great ☘️
@@surlypiratewench1969 As someone born in 83, it’s crazy to think how much things have changed even since I was a kid. My generation may have just been that last cut off from a more digital world. AOL and dial up internet became big when I was a teenager, but it didn’t feel like our lives revolved around it like it does now. It definitely feels like it was the beginning of the end for childhood innocence in the online world. Getting old absolutely sucks.

@@surlypiratewench1969 83/84 was my freshman year in college and I had so much fun. I felt so free after high school. The economy was not great then and we were told it would be hard to get a job. That made me try harder to get one. I was determined and was employed right away. Couldn’t wait to live on my own. Those were fun years. Now my son around the same age can’t even afford to live on his own. It’s sad how expensive everything is now.

the movie was 1 of 3 we got when we got our first vcr, I still have that original copy. nearly played it daily as a kid- could recite the whole movie. loved visiting NYC seeing most of the spots ( tho not the firehall unfortunately) was quite surreal.
