Just bought this guitar yesterday. Can't wait until it gets here! Sounds great man
Thank you man :) Have fun!
Absolutely bangin
Thank you very much!
Dude, it sounds just like the original, do a full cover! I love your take on it as well.
Thank you dude :) It's not in my plans right now but maybe one day!
because this is the original
Damn, your tone is insane !
Thank you!
Best cover what i heard
Thank you buddy!
This is fantastic
Wow! Thank you very much!
For 3 months I ve been addicted to your cover sir, well played. Gotta buy 1 as well.
Thank you very much gentleman :)
Just waouuuuuuuuuhhhhh !!!!!!
Thank you! :D
Awesome cover! You gotta do a cover of October Ends Play time. It would fit your sound for sure 🔥
Thank you Tyler! I just checked the song, it's cool but it would actually make me want to do a Linkin Park cover :) I hear a strong influence
That sounds fantastic! I was curious about that guitar, can you use it tunned as a baritone guitar instead of being a full octave down like the bass VI?
Thank you very much! I didn't try to tune it higher yet so I can't tell you for sure. But I guess it wouldn't be ideal to tune it in A or B. The rogue has a veeery long neck. A 27" scale guitar should be better for regular baritone tuning. I will try to tune it in drop F# someday though. But I don't feel like trying to go higher than that
@@mattlefrip I have this guitar. I tried tuning to drop F#1 and everything seemed ok until the 3 top strings. I didn't feel comfortable in the tension at that point. I'm almost certain a couple more half turns and it wouldve snapped.
@@BunsenMusic You still have the stock strings? I think mine came with Ernie Ball 6 string bass guitar slinky (20 / 90). I would definitely not use that for drop F#. I am still experimenting with custom gauges for that guitar. Right now my Rogue is tuned in F# standard with this set of strings : 90/62/46/36/26/17. It feels pretty comfortable for me
@@mattlefrip Still got the stock strings on yup. I'm not sure exactly what brand they are but I believe they are 0.24 - 0.84. I've read about people getting different strings than were listed when you purchase.
I'm a drummer first and guitarist second so not as familiar with string gauges/tension limits and all that. This guitar is awesome though. Great bang for buck.
@@BunsenMusic Yeah it's a cool guitar for sure! It's also an unusual instrument, so there are not a lot of string packs on the market for it right now. That's why I went for a custom set. I guess we all have to experiment and find what works for us!
Is that six string? Lemme count...
looks to be baritone tho
Its a bass VI, technically it counts as a short scale 6 string bass.
Baritone bro
@@TangenteStaub80you sure? It’s not a Squier or a Fender, and I’m not sure it’s a full 30” like the Bass VI. Just looks like a regular baritone
It's a baritone in GAYDAD tuning
Wicked! Sad you didn't do the chugs tho!
Thanks! Yeah I know, It would have taken more time for me to learn the whole song and play the fast chuggy riff cleanly enough. I just wanted to do a short cover with my new guitar
@@mattlefrip right on! Looking forward to it hoss 🎸
I have the same guitar.
Nice cover 👍
Thank you! Have fun with your Rogue IV :)
HOLY FUCK DO THE ENTIRE SONG
Another great one. can I ask you how your Subzero was out of the box ?
Thanks! My Subzero was ok out of the box, the neck is not the smoothest but no real issue. I've read that some people were not that lucky
Im looking into getting one of these guitars but was wondering if Korn songs could be played on it? I know they have some really high highs sonetimes like in Falling Away or Freak On a Leash
This guitar is meant to be tuned in low E or so, wich is actually too low for Korn tuning. They play in A standard. If you want to play Korn songs, get a 7 string guitar, tune it in A standard and you're good to go! About the super high highs, you may be referring to parts using a whammy pedal. Like the high melody at the end of "Falling away for me"
Can I achieve the same result on a fender stratocaster? lol
What pickups are you using?
I put a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge position. The neck pickup is stock
Guitar of 6 strings and u can play this:0? What's your gear?
It's not a standard 6 string guitar. It's a baritone guitar with a very long neck (30 inch scale), perfect for that kind of tuning. You can check the gear in the description
May I know your string gauge? and how about the intonation? Thanks
Here for drop E I have : 90/62/46/36/26/17. I might do little adjustments in the future, but It feels pretty good to me. I didn't mess with the intonation yet to be honest
what the hell strings are u using there like 20 gauge string wth
It is a custom 17/90 string set. I haven't found yet a set that suits my liking for this kind of guitar and tuning. There is not tons of options on the market right now for bass VI guitars. So I experiment to make a set of strings that feels good to me
Tab?
Amazing, great tone! What's the difference bewteen E standard and drop E?
Thanks! Standard E is E/A/D/G/B/E, it's the same as a standard tuning but one octave lower here. Drop E (or should I say double drop E) is E/B/E/A/C#/F#
The low E string is simply an octave below standard tuning.
@@mattlefrip BFG Division was played on an 8 string
@@Snavels I know ;) I don't have an 8 string though
@@mattlefrip oh, yeah, I just meant that as an additional fact in case they actually did happen to have one (the person you were replying to) and they wanted to play it
Хорошо без 9 струн получается
Yep absolutely! I like to be able to go super low and still have only 6 strings. You just need an instrument that can handle it
