When,I came back to Hawaii back in 2010,I saw lots of fields were bare and didn't see a single Sugar cane field and it breaks my Heart to see it gone,I guess there will no more Cane spiders to find themselves homes inside the Buildings.

Can't believe it I'm the last generation to wake up everyday and see the smoke stacks going off to some people it's ugly but to me and other people it's a wonderful site.our history.like the guy said waking up in the morning we don't have snow it barley rains but us kids loved to see the black ash fall gracefully down and we could step on it and turned it into powder.childhood

I have noticed that sugar has not tasted good anymore and so I today I did research and found out this that Hawaii islands are shut down and no longer produces Sugar no longer. It brought tears to my eyes. Because California C& H does not taste good and causes me a stomach and headache. I believe they the huge corporations have added something not natural to the sugar in these refineries in the Uniied States. If C&H are going to change the location of Hawaiian sugar they and change the taste they also should change the name of the best sugar ever that originated from the Hawaiian people. It truly is a shame that the Hawaiian people can not have ownership of their own Sugar Cane farms and sell their named brand beautiful sugar. And I think it’s time to give back the Hawaiian people their named brand best sugar in the world back to them and let them refine their Sugar Cane. Once again.

C&h is now owned by spreckels, spreckels sugar is grown almost entirely in Mexico, it does not have the Hawaiian soil to give it that taste, and it does not have the Gouveia name to make sure it's pure sugar.

My forefathers started C & H Sugar, and I tell you, it breaks my heart to know it is no more. My forefathers would be appalled and would never stand for this.

"The number one crop in Hawaii is still seed corn" 4:44. The number one crop based on profits is most likely still marijuana. Maui Wowie, Kona Gold, etc.
