Hey everyone, good news, part 2 is done and is coming soon. FYI; the camera is working now. Stay tuned and make sure you’re subscribed and bell on 🔔for notifications 📣
Дякую за відео! В мене D3s теж відмовився вмикатися. В сервісі відмовили, бо немає запчастин. Після перегляду цього відео я купив плату живлення на алі, і самотужки замінив. Усе працює!
Hi, this is a really good video, I watched other video but they are not as good as this one, you narrative the way through the process, having clear age with good perspective on the work. Well done mister
Brave man or at the very least you are highly skilled and knowledgeable. I tried to repair a 35mm film camera a few decades ago and also a telephoto lens with dud focussing. Both ended up in the bin. 😅 Also had a Zenith B filled with seawater: rescued it using fresh water and lots of alcohol! I gave it away when it made crunchy noises when winding on!🤣
Hey thanks, passion is everything . Fresh water is the best quick action you can do if you drop almost any tipe of electronics in sea water and you’re out of options 😀. Did that few time whit phones, car keys also a camera, it worked 😁. Obviously need quick intervention after but way better than salty water. Fixing lenses is harder than cameras, need bit of micro repair knowledge and lots of practice…
@@CameraRestore Rescued a phone once that had been in a drain submerged at least overnight. Steamed up but worked well enough for me to get it back to the aged owner who had been pulled in by his labrador.
Thank you so much for the video , it was very enjoyable watched it from end to end. Can not wait for your follow up video. I too have a D3s but the optical viewfinder curtain switch at the back is stuck to open (I am sure there is a name for it) and I can't see to close it no mater what I did to it. Can you do a video on it in the future? Taking that apart, fixing it or replacing it? Many thanks👍
Hey thanks, glad you enjoyed it, second part is ready and coming soon. I cannot promise regarding the viewfinder curtain, it is quite strange it is stuck, has a very simple mechanism, did you tried to put a bit more force than usual on it? I’m afraid I cannot do a video with your request but if happens to work on this model again I will make sure to mention your problem 😉
@@CameraRestore Thank you for your reply. I have compare it with other camera D3s and D700 and it doesn't take much to get it to open or close it. But this one is jammed in for sure. Looking forward for your next fix. Keep up the good work.
Excellent video - perfectly staged and clearly narrated. Thanks so much! Learned a lot about my beloved D3S. By the way do you have any idea of the shutter count of this unit? Judging by the thumb-rubber (on the memory card door) it looks pretty well-used.
You’re welcome, my pleasure. It is a common problem with the D700, also got some D3 having same issue. Anytime, my contact details are on the info page.
Hi thank you for this video. I have Nikon D3 fully working in great shape but unfortunately my LCD screen stopped working. It display only grey lines. Do you have any experience or advice what can be wrong? Do you think it will be enough to change just screen or there is another problem involve.
It is hard to determine without checking. Looks like the lcd failed but this is vague analysis. If you are based in the UK I can send you the replacement and if not the case I can accept the return. Also can offer service if you think is too much for you.
I had the following thing happen with my machine. I have a Nikon d5300 and all of a sudden it crashed at an event, it literally wouldn't turn on at all just the led flickered when I turned it on green. Two days later when I checked again the camera already turned it on but strangely when it was on the camera was actually off and when off then it was on. I once put it on off thinking they had turned off and after a few days when I wanted to use the machine it was completely discharged. After about a month again it wouldn't turn on. The battery I checked and there's no problem with it. I wonder what could be wrong with it?
Sorry at the moment no, I’ll have a look in the future maybe I can get more accurate translation with AI. This is not generated by me but automatically by YT.

Thanks, not so much, 32k I believe. The rubbers were in great condition.
A useful content for me, thanks for the video. 👍
Thanks! Cheers!
Thank you very much for the video I think my Nikon D700 will be coming to you for an estimate for a foggy back screen

that's right. I'm not in the UK. I'm in Canada. If you have a screen for the D3, how much it be the cost?
@@2klember I do have the screen, drop me a mail at: contact[at]camerarestore.co.uk
Hello ! Can you give me advice on Nikon D4 ? Displays low battery on the top screen. Is it a damaged DC power board or rather mainboard?
Could be multiple points, still, doubt is any motherboard fault.

Your camera needs full diagnostic in order to understand what is wrong with it.
Thermal camera on the board when power is added to see heat spot.
I know, that’s on my bucket list.
