I am finally off Benzo's after 40+ years... totally damaged my brain, body. Must go very slow. Did water micro taper. Took 1 year and 8 months to get off. It can be done but must have a doctor willing to help with out pushing to go too fast. First time I tried 8+ years ago, came close to dying. I've won!!!

I was on lorazapam for about 35 yrs. Attempted to go off 8 years ago... it was really, really bad, went too fast. Then was put on Clonazepam after that. When I started to taper it I knew I had to go slow. My brain and body couldn't handle another withdrawal like before. It's been so much better. Totally off 1 month and I haven't had withdrawal symptoms at all that I know of. Best decision I've made. Never Again will I take Benzodiazapines. Thank you for reaching out. Best to you.

Truly thanks helped my I also have OCD mine and an recovered alcoholic addict cocaine and alcohol. 20 years pretty much of drug and cocaine and alcohol use clean and sober over five years been on benzos five years and it's absolutely been the worst thing ever. I have no desire to drink or use anything ever again in my life I just want my peace of mind body heart soul and spirit back to heal fully so thank you. I went but I went through a lot I got clean and sober and then I had my twins and my daughter passed away and that's around the time I went on the benzos. Other than that I know in my heart she's okay I went to tons of counselling and stuff for everything I'll always hurt over that I know that that's a given. But these poison pills have definitely need to be absolutely pulled off the shelves off they needed to be disciplined just need to disappear and I don't think nobody should be taking them there awful and my heart goes out to every single one of us has been through this in his going through this I went from 40g lorazepam a week I am down to 21 mg Lorazepam per week... Typing so much in my life and this is the most toughest thing it's terrifying and scary and you feel so you getting those states that you don't it feels like you're going to be stuck like that and you get a little bit of freedom but you're still not free.. It's been horrendous. So thank you so much to doctor your the best and thanks to you for for your comment it helps thanks a lot, bless us all on me we all heal very good permanently thank God Amen

40 years ago the pharma industries lied about benzodiazepines. They said that benzos aren't addictive till the day they couldn't denied it anymore. Neuroleptics and antidepressants were the next two types of medication that are used for sometimes the same reasons benzodiazepines were prescribded. Guess what they said again these substances don't get you addicted what is also not correct. They just don't have a abuse potential but if you take them long enough and quit from one day to the other you will have symptoms, sometimes comparable to withdrawal symptoms.

During periods of high stress I sometimes temporarily increase my dosage frequency and during times of low stress, such as going on vacation, I reduce the frequency and this has worked very well for me. I didn’t know what was going on but I’ve found out it’s bw syndrome. The doctors said I was bipolar because I couldn’t sleep after that and put me on antipsychotics never went to sleep on them. I had to have benzo reinstated. That led me to my final ct September 11 of 2mg kolonopin and 3 mg Lunesta. I’m suffering so many symptoms including insomnia bad & severe depression. I’ve tried to get on antidepressants since I can’t get back on because anxiety is extreme and causing more akathisia. Tomorrow doctors want me to try Wellbutrin I don’t think it’s going to help because of it’s side effects I tried it over the summer and didn’t do well at all. I’ve been given so much even Gabapentin and nothing is helping me. What can I do for the extreme depression? I’ve exhausted all antipsychotic meds. Anti convulsants and most antidepressants.

It works better with the unipolar as fewer dude effects but often dramatic improvement for people like you who’ve tried everything and nothings working. You have to commit to 2-3 times a week for a number of weeks but I’ve seen people dramatically improve and can back off the 3 times a week to once every 2 weeks or once a month for maintenance. Best of luck sounds like you have been through a lot. Something a provider said to me recently they was quite refreshing. He told me I was the expert on me. I have Xanax and taught myself to take them 3 times a week the Doctor even cut my dose down monthly and it helps me I forgot to take them during the Week and was like damn I haven't took anything all Week then I catch myself wanting to only take them instead of having a drink of alcohol. This worked for me so I'm just saying cut your dose down and take smaller pieces! Stay Blessed everyone on here...

Slow taper? did not worked. After brain op in 1995 took xx. First taper plan was made around 2005 or so. Very slooow. Not succesful, I got epileptic issues. So hospitalized for 3 different times for months and no luck. I got epileptic and/or psichosises. We gave up /different doctors, different countries same conclusions/ So they put me 6-8 mg Diazepam and that will be a life long story. I have 112 pills for 28 days. I was told in July 1995 to use Xanax instead of barbits because they are not addictive and I can take it as long as I have PTSD and anxiety etc. In Europe it was like opiates in the States. I got my Xanax like lollipops countlessly. Crazy. then bammm around 2007 they stopped. and suddenly it was THE ENEMY. But for some year I could have 3-4 doctors then presciption system did not allowed just one doc. So it was a torture and at my last epileptic issue and when I forgot my name, address and I was hospitalized my psichiater confirmed that I can not quit absolutely so I have to take benzos.minimum dosage but I have to have. So I switched to Valium/diasepam/ 8 mg per day and Im fine.

I believe the only “proper” way to use any Benzo is PRN unless all other meds in the anticonvulsant class has failed for seizure. In regards to anxiety control, benzodiazepines should be used no more than once or twice (at most) a week for panic. GAD can be alleviated with many other interventions such as: CBT, diet and lifestyle change, even some sort of 12 step program or group therapy. I am not giving medical advice, I am just talking about what worked for me

Last year I had lung cancer and had my right lung removed in July. A year later I’m trying to come to terms with losing my lung and health. Out of the blue a dr at my surgery has just said I have to stop the Valium she wants to cut it down to fast. I’m panicking I haven’t talked to her yet but have made it clear to another dr that I’m going to struggle with this but every one I talk to seems to agree with her. This has all been done be hide my back. She want to cut down 2 mg a day. With no support. I’m already getting anxiety. I have tried before but ended up in A&E. I would love to be of Valium. But dread the withdrawals I don’t know what to do. I get breathless and can panic because I only have my left lung. I was coping until I went to the chemist and I found out Dr had reduced my Valium.

Been on Xanax for 23 years with some breaks here and there. A year ago I started to get head tremors, body jerks, "electric shocks" and coordination problems. The head is vibrating very rapid and the tremors are also inside my body. Been to several neurologists that ruled out parkinsons and MS and essential tremor, however no clinical diagnose was set. I'm tapering off Xanax now with the assistance from a doctor, so I'm positive I will be able to get down to zero. But the head and neck tremors are terrible. They specifically occur when I'm sitting in front of a computer and they are much milder when I stand up, and even less apparent when walking. I suspect its benzo withdrawal. Like my brain neurons are firing like mad and receptors going wild.

It's very confusing, and I hear people blame the meds or chemicals when as you know, it's very complex. I would even go as far as to say no drug that I know of is INHERENTLY ADDICTIVE. Of course, if you have the complex genes, brain paths, trauma, or have had or do have a bad environment, then this leads to addiction. As I think you would agree.
Thanks again for making this information public. Hopefully someday people will understand addiction is a disease and should be treated like one, instead of a crime.

I had been on 2 mg of Klonopin for 20 years. Had ECT treatment for depression (six sessions), it made my anxiety worse and did nothing for my depression.. Am now on 3mg of Klonopin a day. Some days i can get away with 2 mg. I usually get interdose withdrawal after 5-6 hours. Depends on the manufacturer and how the pills are manufactured.
Most generics do not meet the bioequivalence requirement set by the FDA. And they can vary wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer.
So I am most likely going to be on benzo's for the rest of my life, and I'll probably get dementia from it. They are linked.

Hi Nate. Well established it enhances the high of methadone. Interaction can really be deadly at high enough doses for resp depression. Be careful for new addiction and good job on low methadone dose and 3 years.

I'm not a dr but if benzos are giving you a ton of energy be careful of a paradoxical reaction. I had one to Klonopin and ended up with almost all of the psychiatric side effects listed on the pamphlet. In the end I didn't sleep for almost 3 weeks and was finally diagnosed with a medication induced manic episode.
Was on 2mg for 2.5 months

Dr B. I was prescribed provigil for sleep apnea. Could you talk about it? It's not supposed to be addictive, but I quit taking it because I was afraid it could be.
    Thanks..

How important is it and why to space out the dosage? Somedays I can go without and other days I need my prescribed amount in one go.
It's both for muscle spasms for my fusion in spine and also distress.
    Thanks

Hi I'm trying to get some info on how to slowly taper off lorazepam for my daughter. I can't find any drs who cares about any concerns that I have about severe side effects that my daughter is experiencing. She's been on for 5 months, she was given 12mg then within a week she was prescribed 6mg. She is has rashes and hives on her chest, neck, and face, alot of itching, feet , hands , legs and ankles swollen, confusion, slow movements, slurred speech, unsteady, no balance, eye and body pain, nerve damage the list goes on. She was prescribed wellbutrin 100mg and she was on it for about 3 or so months and was told by a dr to stop it cold turkey. My daughter is going thru so much, every where I reachout to just don't care, always want to push more drugs

@Pedro Trinidad Thanks for asking. She's still going through alot of side effects, none of the medical professionals that I have spoken to show any care. She has me and I'm here for my daughter, with God she is going to fully recover and heal.

, can I ask your advice? I was on klonopin for a year and non prescriptive benzos for a year. Stopped in Sep 2018 for a year and a half trying to heal trauma and co dependency issues. Lost my children and now after not healing for 2 years I’ve had 5 detoxes in hospital this year for repressed anger. I’m in hospital now for a final detox where I’m on diazepam 15mg 4 times a day and then for the next 6 days I’ll be tapered down. I have therapists that want to help me (I’ve also stopped taking mirtazapine 15mg). From what I’ve told you I don’t know what it’s done to my brain and how long before the brain returns to normal after this detox before any real theraputic work can begin? Thank you so much x

DR, B.I'm 45, and I have always thought from being in my 20's that it's a GABA drug the same as alcohol, and when that GABA and Glutamate balance goes out , even with an alcoholic, it causes panic and anxiety. Is this wrong?

When i stopped using xanax, i could not get drunk only seizures.. Interesting as always, one thing that always happens me. If I have 200 xanax and I take one or two. A month later i wake up everything is gone and I have ate them all and could have bought morr without knowing. Tnx Great as always :)

Have a neighbor and she informed me something about her liver. She mentioned she was taking valium earlier and have noticed at times slurred speech and was taking care of her cat when she broke her knee 6 months ago. They had her in a old age facility for rehabilitation. A couple of months. I am concerned about the valium causing her issues in her liver. Apparently she takes it for anxiety. Wondering if there is a liver issue cause as well? Very informative, thank you.

I enjoy your videos. I kicked 51 mg methadone cold turkey 3 months ago. It was more difficult than heroin or tramadol withdrawal for me., but I am staying clean. Anyways, I would love to see you make a video on Gabapentin; Is there is withdrawal? (It felt like a cakewalk compared to opiates , but just your clinical opinion.., Is it physically addictive ? Why are so many people using it for suicide or becoming suicidal ? etc. I understand that there is a lot of grey areas with these studies. I see a lot of people in recovery on Gabapentin.

If it is stored in the fat tissue, and say your body fat is 7.5%. What changes will that pose for detox, tapering, and withdrawal ?

  • @behindthen0thing
    @behindthen0thing 2 года назад

If its stored in the fat does the medication that is in the fat continue to cause an effect or does it stay inert until the fat is burned and it releases back into your system?
