Like with most business decisions, it's an exercise of weighing out the opportunity costs of each. If $ is the most important, figure out which is the cheapest. If being able to check on your inventory or be physically close to it matters, then weigh that against the possible increase in cost/shipping time to customer. If having a dry climate for your products is important, weigh that out. Every decision you make to do something is ALSO a decision to NOT do something

If you're importing from overseas, I'm assuming you'd be buying in bulk. So aside from the cost of goods, ballpark is around $4k to import a container of product.

Yet most things you buy today are still being made in China. If it's a tariff, it's a level playing field if everyone is still buying from China. If you can source it better from another country, that's a worthy option to explore!
