Vancouver Island Sunday Brunch Buffet @ Marina Restaurant in Victoria

- I had a chance to visit Victoria in Vancouver Island with some friend to see many attractions and eat at many restaurants -- we tried a few buffets here and hope to take you with us via youTube. This is our style of vacation! If you are traveling to Vancouver Island, I hope this will help you in our food journeys. Our first buffet is in Oak Bay on Vancouver Island at the Marina Restaurant.
Being in the west coast, it's a perfect place for their west coast buffet. It's only offered on Sunday's and a reservation is definitely recommended Great variety of seafood and meats. Great stations for roasts and omelets and attentive servers are there to make your experience amazing.

That fish in brown butter and capers looked delicious! I also think I’d take half of that tray of smoked fish. Ha!!! And the carrot cake trifle... how unique!

Super video Tim! Your party must have arrived early due to all the full platters to choose from. The "braided" fish did look remarkable as did everything for that matter. Awwwww man I didn’t realize you were on the island! I’m in Nanaimo, if you have a chance definitely check out Tigh-Na-Mara I believe they run a brunch buffet. Other non-buffet style restaurants I’d recommend would be La Stella Trattoria, and Asteras both located in the downtown core of Nanaimo. As always thanks for the great content!!

Victoria is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to. And the chana masala and the coconut rice looked so great, as well as the other entrees. Thank You very much, Tim. I saw the whales and the rainbow was so beautiful.
We did a whale watching tour many years ago was well. Quite enjoyable but it was a tiring experience being out in the ocean all day 🙂
@@TimLeeLetsGo Tim, actually, it was not the tour. The whales just happen to be there, basking in the ocean waves. Indeed, Victoria Island and British Columbia are some of the most unique and amazing places I ever visited. Tranquil Urbanization might be the wording...
Tim Lee, another great video and only 2 WOW's. This brought me back to very fond memories of Victoria. My wife and I were there in 1973, took the ferry boat from Port Angels Washington. Loved Butchart gardens and the Empress. We look forward to traveling there again. Thanks for this video. Maybe you need to go on the Travel Channel.
Thanks Wynn Wynn! I didn't realize you used to be some near the west coast! Grin...the gardens are there as nice as ever and the Empress has been restored...much needed and it's very nice there now...hmm maybe time to have a meal there or better yet, their tea service 🙂

I was mainly in Kelapa Gading and Jakarta and it was such an amazing place. Lots of good food and malls :-) LoL, the Padang meals ended up costing so much as I didn't realize you have to pay for each dish you try :-)

And of course in Padang resto is like that,, if u take a half it same like you eat and pay one dish so you must take all that dish.. Im never eat in Padang resto coz its very expensive to me,, sad that im not a rich people hehehhehe.. Ok brother,, wait u come to Surabaya. GBU always

I was there in 1995 family vacation Vancouver Island. Ferry trip was awesome 😎!! Man I miss the past so much!! So much has changed I heard. Most people now live on the island and Vancouver seems like the tourist attraction lol 😂!

@@journeytrials I still think the island is a nice get-way / vacation. All the offices and the hustle and bustle earning a living is in Vancouver; kinda like to ensure the island is pristine and tranquil to where one can escape to :-)

Hi Tim, your videos are really amazing. I thought they were good at the start and I knew for sure that you were going to be exceptional at these types of videos. It was nice to see your friends eatimg with you, although they didn't speak much I can tell that they are really lovely kind people. For sure pavlova is from kiwi land although our neighbours over the ditch will disagree with me. That looked more like a meringue than a pavlova though. A real pavlova stands tall and inside it's so fluffy it melts on your tongue. It's my favourite dessert. It was actually named after the ballerina Anna Pavlova who was visiting New Zealand.

Hi Tim, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I hope that you had a lovely Christmas. I was half asleep on Christmas day because I didn't sleep at night and I had another fall. I always do Christmas dinner but this year Mum helped me. I cooked pulled pork and stuffed chicken the night before and the rest was easy, just a matter of cutting things up for different salads. I've been in bed since boxing day and I've managed to sleep a bit. I've had a pretty tough time with my health lately. I now have a do not resuscitate note on my medical files and I'm working with my palliative care doctors at a hospice which is just happens to be around the road from where I live. It's become a sort of home away from home in the sense that i feel that it's a safe place for me where everyone is very kind. My sister and her family have come over from England to spend some time with me. It was great having my nephew (8) and my neice (4) with us as we have never had a Christmas with them. I've still got fight in me but on the other hand I'm just so tired but I've promised my parents that I will fight to the bitter end.
It is really awesome that youtube helps us all connect with each other. It's like a form of social media which I never thought it could be. You are always in my thoughts and I think your videos are really looking and sounding fantastic. I think I've told you this before but you have a very gentle, calm voice and I think that it enhances your videos. Xx
Hi Amy -- It's always a joy conversing with you! I was happy to see your messages again! Very glad you had nice Christmas with family all the way from England! I had a nice quiet Christmas with some family over at my aunt and uncles -- we usually give my aunt a hard time over her cooking (in good fun of course), but this year, she did an amazing job! We had a beef roast, but the pulled pork and stuffed chicken you prepared sounds amazing!
Love your strength and fighting spirit! You know, I never would have imagined that I would be putting up videos on RUclips, but you're right -- it's this awesome experience to connect with each other that is so amazing! I'm so lucky to have met you even though we're literally half way around the world. Have a chance to connect with many other great people here too! There are so many people making food videos but the majority don't portray their personality like you do, you are honest and show respect to others. With limited time I'm very selective of what I watch and I've loved your videos from day one. Christmas at your aunts sounds really lovely. It's so important to spend special occasions with the ones we love whether they are blood family or love family (friends that are as important as family). Xx

I checked out the Marina website and doesn’t seem to have buffet listed only a la carte menu for lunch. An I looking at wrong menu?

Oh Don, I think there's only one that's open at the moment so it's an easy answer 😆. But I must say, it's very very good. It's called Mr. A's Patio restaurant. I got a chance to visit their seafood buffet and cut that on video. But I do visit them normally also. Desserts are a superb and everything is made in house 😋

The harbor view and the light and airiness of the place was best feature.$30. very good price and what they had looked pretty good but limited choices and pretty basic presentaion of the different dishes imo.
Yeah, it was a pretty nice place ... certainly nothing compared to the Vegas counterparts. Very enjoyable and laid back...
