Too bad they don't seem willing to work out who the intellectual owner of the license is, therefore nolfrevival.tk exists. Chances of any actual sequels seem unlikely, but spiritual successors don't... We did get F.E.A.R. and you could probably picture seeing the Super Soldiers as enemies there, Point Man teaming up with Cate Archer's niece or so… and slow-mo to help the Point Man out.
I wish Monolith would manage to secure the rights to NOLF again and give us at least a proper remaster, these two games did not receive a single bit of the respect they should have got.
I personally wished they would have marketed this more, this is a great! game. It is one of my alltime favorite games together with the first game. I still think the soundtrack in this game was just that notch better than the first game - and that is hard to do. Praise the sound directors and musicians that made this :D now i have to go play both games over the weekend :D WEE :D
According to game store employees at the time, too many people returned the game saying they didn't want to play a female character. Make of that what you will.
@@idiotisterecords seriously!? Its not like they were FORCED to given the fact that you used ti be stuck playing a male during the out of the box coop missions it came with. Mods quickly expanded on that of course
Oh wow. I just stumbled upon your video, Mr3lade (after almost 3 years!). I'm the one who's assembled the soundtrack. Thanks a lot for uploading this video. It seems the game still has a lot of fans.
Hey, nice to see the original creator of this great content! Found it years ago on ffshrine.org and uploaded it on RUclips to make it public and "save" it. If you are interested in retro games, visit our (German) community: www.replaying.de
I rarely play all the way through most games, I love this series so much that I played through both 1 & 2 multiple times. This needs to make a comeback as it was one of a kind...x2.
Ive jusr replayed original after more than 20 years and just started with 2nd one again....really glad I did too. Such shame that these games would ever get remade/remastered, let alone that we would get NOLF 3 😔 Also have to say NOLF 2 character/facial animation was really ahead of its time in 2002
I was jamming on my balalaika yesterday and some of the Siberian themes started to come out. I've never learned them or even had a listen in twenty years. Apparently, it made a lasting impression all those years ago!
If there's any one game series I'd love to see reboot, even in different formats, it's NOLF. I'd die for a live action TV show with Kate and... man. That'd be so good. And fresh.
Dunno what world you are living in but games still have great soundtracks. Take off your rose-tinted glasses or you will miss out on awesome experiences. Just because you are a shell of your former self; you do not know how to enjoy life anymore, doesn't mean everything has gone bad, only you have. You just don't play enough games. Explore games yourself and find out because I know how ridiculously wrong you are.
The previous one was barely playable on PS2... They decided not to outsource the porting (like they did later with Tron 2.0) and ported it to PS2 themselves... And now we have an example of when a company that pretty much mastered the PC development flopped so hard by a PS2 hardware (which has NOTHING similar to PC, and LithTech don't even uncovers neither it's full potential nor PS2's, because of how much "PC structure" it has)
Please not. Look what modern games look like in comparison to old ones, Thief is a prime example of how to screw up a great opportunity. They would make it "to attract new gamers" which is exactly what this masterpiece doesn't need. I just replayed both NOLF's on superspy difficulty and as much as I would like to see the conclusion of the story I'm sure that it would be some modern "click to win" crap with meaningless dialogue and bad humour. Let this one rest where it belongs, it's too late for a sequel.
Idiotiste Records yeah I get what your saying, but you can’t even play the games any more unless it’s on windows XP I wish they could just get a remaster
According to game-industry insiders, there's no budget anymore for games that are A. entertaining, B. have a great, thourough storyline and C. Lots of quirky humor. That's not what puberescents want. They want GTA XVIII.
I miss this game, more that any girlfriend I had in my life. Who did not stand the test, of love for a lifetime. o0O0oh Cate Archer if I ever could find a woman like you. We would had tricked the world to our knees.
My all time favourite game, can't believe it wasn't more popular, I love listening to this
Mina Nile me too ❤️
Sameeee
This and Diablo 2 took up great deal of my early teens!
Yeees! 2002
It's BS that it never came out for Console like it's Predecessor
One of the best OST in this galaxy... I WANT NOLF3!!!!

Let us hope some Indie company manages to make a spy game similiar to Nolf at least.
Monolith was based south of here in Bellevue, wa.
That Antartica explore theme is still so creepy. This soundtrack is brilliant!
I was instantly impressed with it when I heard it in-game lol, it's so good

I think there was way too much "ethnical" tunes in 2. Russian, Japanese, Indian... really gets old fast.

I listen to it at work when I really need to concentrate. Great stuff
To this day?
Most awesome OST ever. Especially the mime king music.
I couldn't find anywhere on the internet or even this video having anything to do with the "mime king." Why don't you just give us a time stamp?
It's the 'Unity HQ Combat' track above (28:20). The same music is also played during the bicycle race in India.

Just click on the mediafire url in the description of one of my NOLF2 videos.

Who would have believed that Nathan Grigg also composed the soundtrack of the FEAR series (First Encounter Assault and Recon) ?
