Norm, Thank you for posting so many great videos. I can't wait to get my Economy King tractors going. Thank You again for the videos and the inspiration to do more with these old tractors.
Yea Norman, nothing like having a "handy-dandy- gravey-grade-a-lating" grader blade fer the "Track-Ters". Such Great Fabricating Skills & cinematography. You are such an inspiration to "just get-erdone"- all far practical "app-ic-kations". Super Kool buddy. I know your "selection" is well diversified, l' m just a big "fan" of the "Wheelhorse-power " lineup-- ( gots me 6 of the masterpiece 's). Thank you for the great Vidio Sir and happy safe fabricating & Tractoring.
strr60seven unsolicited I can tell you from experience that a tiny 4x4 tractor is MUCH handier than an ATV. I own a Satoh Beaver, a little 15 horsepower twin cylinder diesel powered machine not much bigger than a riding mower. But it tugs very hard, and does things you wouldn’t expect it to do, like be able to use a 5 foot backblade for moving manure around in the garden. It will also outpull all the ATV’s we have, it can easily pull a 20 cubic foot trailer topped off to almost overflowing with wet oak and cherry to feed the fire in Winter. My only qualm is that it’s slower than an ATV, its max speed is about 9mph.
You might want to increase the angle on that backblade so it grips into the harder dirt too. Though it would make it harder for the light tractor but also better with snow.
Norm, before you plant grass, be sure to level out the soil and remove those big rocks & sticks. Try using a chain link fence section on a metal pipe. works well until the rocks and especially sticks need to be pulled out of the chain harrow. Don't made the harrow too wide , just a little later than your tractor wheels.
Hi Norman ! I believe it would be more efficient if the length was cut in half, believe it or not but there is quite the flex in the square tubing at that length . Great video . Have a great summer !
1armedguy It depends on what he wants to do to consider efficient. If grading (leveling) then it's better to have it longer and with some play but should have casters behind the blade. If moving dirt then yes would be better shorter and more rigid
I do still have it! In hindsight, I guess I could have used that! maybe sub-consciously I wanted an excuse to drag this rear blade out of the junk yard though...hmm
Great stuff, so simple but effective. Question for you, as I am also building something similar and thought to ask you first. As the arms are only lifting up and the weight of the implement needs to be heavy enough to dig the implement into the ground. How much weight would you recommend on the end of the tool if it is that far away from the tractor. I take it that distance away from the tractor also pays a role. I am trying to rough up some old drive why to smooth it out. Whats your guess? Thanks for the video.
Hey Norman , any idea where i can get a new headlight lens for a john deere 317? I need one they are different than the 318,322,332 ones ,, i can get them on ebay,, one of the screw sockets on mine has cracked,, please let me know ,,thank you
That boom stock looks like a 2x4 rec tube Really nice GT. Never saw that modle before!!?? Like that size rear wheels. Does it have hydraulic kines front n rear?? Wgere's the spool. Can tell it's a hyfristatuc drive . REALLY sweet. Sub Dandahermit
Not too long at all, I think you gave yourself clearance for the dirt pile itself. Could also make it adjustable if you had the time. I wish I had half your talent!
Hey I have a Sears ST16 and I would.like to get big tall tractor wheels for it like those. Do you think thats a bad idea and if not where could I find them?
You’ve had that sears rear grader sitting in your scrap pile? Sears guys (like myself) would pay decent money for that. I have two of those and they’re indispensable
love the videos and the channel, you can always tell a working man by the cuts, burns and bruises, I see the thumbnail I can relate..lol keep up the great work.
you need one of my trailing grader buckets, would have been perfect for these jobs, videos of one in action are on my channel if you want to have a look
Hey I am new to your channel. Great videos so far. I am super interested in buying a 68 ford 120 I have come across. I am concerned about finding parts and stuff for it. It has like 6 working attachments and it runs and drives. I've just read a little on some forums that parts can be hard to find. In your opinion do you think that?
Our company, isavetractors.com, has all the engine parts you would need. We also have all the bearings you need. That's pretty much all the parts you will ever need. Check out our Ford 120 playlist as I have restored the exact tractor you're considering. Welcome to the channel!
Hey just an idea , have you thought about finding an old cub Cadet and put tracks on it and a dozer blade in front , and a scarifier plow in the back. Just an idea , thought it would make a good project. 🤔😳😀👍
Looks like it works fine the way you built it, but you lose the ability to adjust the fire and aft tilt on it because it’s so far back from the tractor. Sears has these on a 3 point hitch, and they’re very adjustable. I love mine
I see you have a gilson/ward mower deck laying in the weeds. I would be happy to make an offer on it if your interested. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
appelons un chat un chat , vous n'avez rien construis , vous avez juste adapter un outil existant . au passage , apprenez donc a serrer correctement un mandrin !!!!
Nice job! You deserve a raise !
Agreed! ;)

Where you located? What state and area?
I need a list of old good lawn tractors to look for. The half track videos is great thank you.
I have one of those, think it says sears and Roebuck. It's for sleeve hitch, it's awesome.
Norm, Thank you for posting so many great videos. I can't wait to get my Economy King tractors going. Thank You again for the videos and the inspiration to do more with these old tractors.
For Something laying in the bone yard and a little work I say it made a great addition to the equipment collection , looks great !!!!
Thanks for sharing Norman! That is a clever idea to have such a small blade hooked on hitch block. Very versatile tool!

Thats a handy sized tractor you got there! Sometimes I think a small 4x4 tractor is more use full than a large atv.

Like that Ingersoll. Maybe a spike on top of the tube or a couple on each side to hang some weights. My blade digs better with a little weight.

Another great episode of
Norman's "fun with tractors"

Nice fabrication job there. Keep up the great work.

Do you still have the yard/rock rake??it would have done awesome with that loose dirt
I do still have it! In hindsight, I guess I could have used that! maybe sub-consciously I wanted an excuse to drag this rear blade out of the junk yard though...hmm
Cool little tractor
I can only hope my 446 case turns out this good
Another Great Video Norman!
I'm curious about your 3-point hitch. I have a Ariens S-12H and I've been looking for a hitch like that.
I really like the long arm.

I would say as heavy as your lift will allow.
@@Isavetractors Ha yes, sometimes it is just that simple. Cheers.
Top notch job👍. Sounded like you had a little supervisor off camera lol
Yep, she's the boss!
Where did you get your tires from? I want those exact tires. I have the Ingersoll 4020.
Miller tire
@@Isavetractors Thanks

Ebay is where I'd try to find it. Or Google Joe's outdoor power
Burn up a lot of drills and bits?
If you want to drill hard steel, sharpen up a concrete carbide bit.
Very cool Norman. Looks like it works as well as a box blade. Gotta be nice having a cat 0 three point ;-)
Sure is! I have 4 tractors with Cat 0 hitches. Just as handy as a front end loader.
Brian Brushwood sent me. I've never owned a Tractor, nor have I land to grade, but this seems fun. :D
It sure is fun! Take a look around the channel for more fun stuff! Thanks for check it out! I love Brian!
Norman nice job if you turn the blade around and push backward you will push more
Thanks for the tip!

What kind of tractor mower did you have that had the lift on it
Almost all of the tractor I use have 3 point hitches on them.
Not too long at all, I think you gave yourself clearance for the dirt pile itself. Could also make it adjustable if you had the time. I wish I had half your talent!
Dude. Do you think you made it long enough?
As usual, nice job, and a useful idea. Any reason you made it so far away from the tractor?
That was just the length of steel I had lying around
Hey I have a Sears ST16 and I would.like to get big tall tractor wheels for it like those. Do you think thats a bad idea and if not where could I find them?
Do you miss living in fremont ca? I still here lol
There are parts of it I miss! Like Jamba Juice, taquerias and all sunny days!
You’ve had that sears rear grader sitting in your scrap pile? Sears guys (like myself) would pay decent money for that. I have two of those and they’re indispensable
It's back in the pile now if you want it!
isavetractors I’d love it! Where in Maine are you? I’m in Massachusetts..
love the videos and the channel, you can always tell a working man by the cuts, burns and bruises, I see the thumbnail I can relate..lol keep up the great work.
when you see the drill bit smoking it means its time for some oil!!

Friends, if your eyes lite up when that camera panned his junk yard.. then you are in the right place !

You should get that international cub cadet tiller going
Hey just an idea , have you thought about finding an old cub Cadet and put tracks on it and a dozer blade in front , and a scarifier plow in the back. Just an idea , thought it would make a good project. 🤔😳😀👍
You wouldnt happen to have any yazoo parts would you?
Sorry, not at this time.
Wouldnt this have been an easy Job for one of your Tractos with a Front End Loader?
Yea probably! But then the blade would still be in my junk yard 🤣
Should mount casters (pivoting tires) a foot or so behind the blade then it would do a better job at grading (leveling).
Looks like it works fine the way you built it, but you lose the ability to adjust the fire and aft tilt on it because it’s so far back from the tractor. Sears has these on a 3 point hitch, and they’re very adjustable. I love mine
Agreed. It was a one off build for one task. Now that's the task is done, this blade is back in the project pile.
Whats a porsarina
Peck drilling, make chip, raise the drill and repeat until you have a hole. Otherwise you can break off a corner of your drill bit
seems a bit long,it could use some weight to take up the play from the mount. down and dirty sometimes works the best
Yea, it was long because I didn't feel like cutting it! ;) I will refine it if I find myself using it more. Thanks for your comment!
isavetractors I'm sure you will get it done right
Some gauge wheels on that would be handy.
Norm do you sell cat 0 hitch
We do not yet
I see you have a gilson/ward mower deck laying in the weeds. I would be happy to make an offer on it if your interested. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Hmm I think that's a Ford LGT deck
The grader might be more effective if the angle of the blade was angled even more to scoop the dirt more than kinda scrape it. Might be wrong though..
Love the videos keep it up
You keep watching, and I'll keep filming! Thanks for your comment.
isavetractors yes sir thanks for the reply
What's the name of your tractor ?
Ingersoll 4118
That works great
I think you need a stronger drill press!
I dont know why but I could sit and watch people move and grade dirt all day.
I could too!
Good video
How much for the tractor and blade
I need a small tractor like that for a decent price but can’t find any in my area :(
thanks for sharing the video
Looks like it's a bit long I would shorten it
You should have make that hitch you built a little bit shorter
Plz call it a Bone yard, I seen many salvageable parts/ideas waiting to happen
I have a 112 John Deere garden tractor made in 1967
Just maybe needed a bit more weight on it to dig in ? Nice job tho norm 👌
Nice 👍
Put a weight on the blade and it will work a lot better
You should buy a Sears garden tractor
Good , I would cut It shorter
Wrong type of drill bit. Each time it heats up it gets dull...
The drill bits used in this video are: 5/8" HSS 135 deg, and 1/2" cobalt 135 deg.........
You need to make the tubing shorter its to long
that looks good!! but...id say its way way way to long of a neck....but thats me lol
also you need a loader on that rig lol
You should of put weight on the back of it
Hi
Howdy
appelons un chat un chat , vous n'avez rien construis , vous avez juste adapter un outil existant . au passage , apprenez donc a serrer correctement un mandrin !!!!
A little long
4 minutes of drilling holes!!! 2x2" HSS is 3' longer than required.
Come on bro. 20 minutes of drilling a hole. Get it together
