I have a Jack Weenie and she does NOT like being picked up. Trying to help her up onto the couch, for example, results in her running away, coming back and crying, running away, repeat, until she figures it out or changes her mind. We built stairs for her and that has made a big difference. She's super independent, even at 7 months old.
Mine has a zero tolerance policy toward electronics (as in pay attn to her- not your phone) and no respect for others’ personal space. She is the best ❤️
What you've said is on point. I have a male and female JRT. They are siblings. When I do something with the female, the male gets jealous. I then incorporate him in whatever it is. When I take them on walks, my JRT's are fine with vehicles. When I first started walking them, I intentionally walked them on a busy street. There was no problem with the traffic noise. The problem that I deal with now is if there is a person walking on the other side of the street, they will bark at that person. I try to communicate with them, not to barking. It may work or not. Thanks for your videos and Luna. Love her!!!!
Mine is a rescue jack chi i had her since she was 3mths old. Now she is 3yrs old. And she doesn't like the washer and dryer. She would bark at them constantly. But she likes other dogs. She is timid. But she is allergic to fleas. I have to keep her on medicine. Cause she would have pick areas. And she loves cuddling. And being next to me. ❤️❤️
My boy shakes terribly if I pick him up, or go in the car. He's probably afraid I'm returning him to the Rescue. And although he's a gentle boy, he'll growl at me if I try to move him while he's napping.
Nigel goes mental for ups trucks and buses. My jacks got car sick at first. Then they loved the car. Nigel definitely doesn't want to share mommies attention. He turns into an infant, when mommy is playing with the baby next door. Other wise he is so confident
Mine do good in car when traveling but the baby is terrified of semi trucks, just the sound of them and she goes running into her kennel.. they also don't like their feet touched so I can trim their nails.. working slowly on that one..mine don't like other people/animals or any cars driving past, they goes nuts . Very protective
Mine does not like big birds, especially the turkey buzzards. He will chase them around the yard even though they are flying 100 feet in the air. Sometimes, they will perch on our roof to sunbathe and my boy Sonny goes wild. If they happen to land in the yard, he'll charge them, even though they are 3x his size.
Our Jack Russell hates being picked up!! The minute he feels my hand on his belly starting to lift him up, he growls at me. Every single time!! It’s been that way since we got him at 4 months old. He is now 3 1/2 years old & it hasn’t changed!! Must have had a bad experience at a very young age!!😢
I assure you its not. I've had jacks for close to all 50 yrs of my life. Remember what these dogs are. They are front line warriors. Super intelligent, extremly proud amazing warriors. To pick them up is to take away their righs of self determination, if they want to come to you, they are more than capable of digging holes under fences, in their own mind taking down rhinos before breakfast, organising a world wide uprising of the planets cannines forming dogtopia. Your boy is busy doing this and more, He is also making time for you as well. How dare you insist that he gets taken to a certain place by you. he has rights to. Jacks do better with co opperation and negotiation. Far better that you try a bit of encouragement, for him to join you where ever you are, they never have any problem getting to places where they shouldnt. they will certainly not have any problems getting to where you are. But it has to be concentual in the mind of your dog. If he likes the idea at the time you suggest bit, he will be enthuastic about accepting your offer. but you cant expect him to be happy about having something imposed on him. He is busy with other things as well, that you have no knowledge of. Trust me, you are not strong willed enough to out will a JR, always coopperated, dont impose. how would you feel, if someone came up to you picked you up moved you next to them, without your permission. jR's are super clever, and have a very strong sence of what is right and fair
@jukeseyable I love how you describe them, planning to take over the world! That's Belladonna in a nutshell lol. 7 months old and already the dominant personality in the house lol
Your very wrong about squirrels, the love chasing them, if they can, catching them and killing them, trouble is, in the mind of a jack, they are the worlds most evil cheats, never playing by the rules by staying on the ground, and instead running up trees. What is a poor JR supposed to do when faced with such dispicable behaviour. Well keep trying all day every day, because one day, that squirrel will get whats coming to it, hopefully. BTW if a jack can get within around 4 ft of a squirrel, especially one that is distracted by a very large acorn, its a coin toss if it gets to see another sunrise
I have rescue Jack/wiener mix, she tries to chase cars. I have a fenced yard but she will run at the fence when cars go by. She doesn't like semi's or people on bicycles 🤷♀️The biggest thing is shiny stuff if it reflects on the wall or ceiling she has to try and grab the spot that's reflected, she also tore up the headliner in my car because I left her alone for 5 minutes and I think something was reflected and she was able to stretch her bungee seatbelt enough to reach🤦♀️she's very muscular, she just has the weiners face but she's tall like a Jack
I got my JRT when he was 5 yrs old because he got in a fight with and killed the previous owner's cat. The ad the PO had placed said in bold "NO CATS". He still goes wild when he sees a cat.

@@loudahlia Sounds just like mine. If it moves, he's on it. Got in a terrible fight with a raccoon late at night and I had to physically break it up. Luckily, only minor cuts.
Mine , drives me nuts actually digs me hard with her claws when she wants me to rub his belly while she is in a begging position , don't know how to stop that
My girl just turned 1. She's absolutely crazy 🤪 My house goes in a circle on the first floor, she loves to run around it.😊
@@susanh3342 I'm now picturing your doggo running laps!
@mystichealerjak Oh!! Especially when I am trying to get something when she steals something 🙄

Just like Violet!!!!! I'm 65, so it's so much fun. NOT!!!!! I do love her ❤️ would never give her up.

Same! She tolerates being picked up, but doesnt love it!
Mine as well. Also, does not like to be pet a lot. Does not ever ask for more.

My jack likes to wake me up at 1 am for cuddles
My jack russell hates rain when he is indoors,it really does make him nervous so bad
It took about a year to get mine comfortable with cars, trucks, bicycles, etc. My Jack is a rescue.
Ever since I saw your videos I got three😂❤ best thing that ever happened to me ❤️😍 but now you do have to have energy for this dog breed.
Bella hates car rides and will bark aggressively if anybody comes to the door. Love your videos, keep them coming.
Love Jack Russell’s. ❤️❤️
My two? It is squirrels.

My girl hates water strangely. She will take long way around the yard to avoid any sprinklers. Shanty even gets jealous if her humans hug each other 😂
They hate sharing their toys 😂

Our jrt detests her paws being touched! I had to work on her for six months to desensitise her, and she still has moments!
My Jack is all the things you are saying. The only thing he is not jealous.

What about their hatred to cats. It’s a dilemma for me as I have a garden and it is normal to have street cats passing through. It’s a true dilemma.
