Amongst the Kaiju, it's no surprise that Godzilla is one of the most dominant, if not THE most dominant one due to his impressive feats over the decades! Unfortunately, Godzilla has so many versions that it makes it difficult to determine who truly is number 1 and it's a constantly debated topic too.
In this video, I analyze the main films, comic books, and other stuff to gauge the different forms of Godzilla and scale them according to their power, speed, and durability. So, who stands above all? Is it the Godzilla who fought his way through Hell itself? Heisei Godzilla, who dominated the 90s? Or is Godzilla Earth, the largest Godzilla ever, actually #1?

I hope you all enjoyed the video! I'd like to mention something important regarding black holes, which is a topic I'd like to go further into in the future. So, I primarily used the radius to work with the GBE and Schwarchild radius formulas to give an estimate of how significantly more powerful the feats may be. There are certainly more ways to calculate this sort of stuff as I brought up with Einstein's equation. You can also try to estimate the mass of the black hole given its volume, which would exponentially increase given the radius' size, but because of how black holes work, volume eventually becomes meaningless on the path to the singularity, so you have to account for a discrepancy. This has deadass sparked my interest in making a video about black holes, especially with how they work in fiction, but with far more research, of course.

I feel like Earth could take Heisei(I hate saying that as Heisei is my fav), it has nothing to do with the size though its that shield... as far as we know very few things can get through that energy shield surrounding his body... people had to bypass the shield to do anything so this is where it gets tricky how can Heisei get through Earth's Shield when temperatures in a nuclear(hydrogen) explosion usually reaches levels ever so many millions degrees Celsius( sources vary but always was in the millions) being hotter than sun and Earth had 100 maybe more dropped on him at the same time if that power output and temperature is not going to break the shield idk how Godzilla could even with the Red spiral ray who temperatures with temperatures reaching 1 million degrees Celsius and only climbing higher when he was close to death using the infinite heat ray which power would increase with each use... even if the red spiral ray did get through the shield for argument sake then he'd have to still be able to deal with Earth's other ridiculous abilities being thrown back at him. If Earth didn't have the stupid shield then Heisei all the way but until someone can tell me how Hesei can beat Earth with the shield have to say Earth( please prove me wrong I desperately want to be wrong Heisei is my fav!).

Throughout cartoon, anime, comic, and movie history, Godzilla here has shown us time and time again on why he is the king of the monsters. Many other kings throughout fiction have failed to keep their crowns but there are a few who have shown us that when they do get beaten they would come back and show their enemies NO MERCY.

What amazes me the most about Godzilla is his unbreakable will. The Big-G will not stop fighting no matter who or what he is up against until they are beaten to a bloody pulp or a irradiated pile of burning ash.

I've always interpreted Godzilla in Godzilla Hell in some sort of dream/nightmare realm where he went through some mental journey to kill whatever was at the end. It's why I think it was Godzilla's will, alone, that pushed him to these feats as opposed to be naturally powerful.

The funny thing about gih is that he could either be "decent" or literally top 20 most powerful character in fiction. "It's up to you" apparently.

And if you had an author statement it would be a lot better but with the author statement "its up to you" you've got nothing to work with lol. + even if it was, that wouldnt make him even close to top 20 in fiction lmfao.

But that would require too many assumptions tbh, there's not many arguments other than its looks and that the author called it God demon in the script. It would require massive levels of headcanon to even go that route, let alone prove it beyond reasonable doubt.

Yeah, a lot of people don't know of power scaling, they're just outside viewers who like the visuals and see bigger as stronger, as we would IRL.
I think people think final war godzilla is the strongest because it's stated to be the strongest movie version up to the date (2004) and most people who don't know how to power scale believes there is absolutely nothing that can beat the statement of the author and don't give a fuck about feats slapping into their face, which is why I absolutely hate debating with chinese, like A beat the living crap out of B directly on screen, yet they are still saying B is stronger than a because the author think B is stronger, like come on
LM_84 to me, I think the fight could possibly go either way. My take on the battle is kinda like what Cell said once. “What’s all that strength worth if your opponent has speed”. That was kinda paraphrased but you get the point.
I think final wars tops heisei Godzilla, not Burning Godzilla but spiral and regular heisei.
Finally someone who agrees the Heisei Goji is more powerful then he looks, with my time on G+ I had a lot of debates with people who tried to downgrade Heisei and believed that Final Wars or Monsterverse Godzilla was stronger then him just because they either destroyed a star, or is bigger then him. Which I highly doubt because Heisei killed enemies taller then himself all the time including Destoroyah, King Ghidorah, and Bagan (Who towers over Destoroyah by 30 meters if you wanna in Super Godzilla). Honestly speaking in the Godzilla Universe, Power is what matters not the size of the foe.

My mans! Godzilla from Godzilla in Hell was one of my favorite versions of Godzilla. In terms of straight creativity, this was the most interesting Godzilla story ever.
GIH is definetely an interesting comic and a very unique take on the radioactive lizards but personnaly i don't like how vague the authors make it. it would have been nicer if they had more information on the story.

Ehhh I just don’t care for the coloring of his body and inexpressive face. I think I have a preference with the kiryugoji design which seems to be used a lot in the comics fondly enough.

I'm a big fan of Godzilla and was always curious about who the top-dog on all the Godzillas were. It was very entertaining but informative! Very much enjoyed both parts and would love seeing how impressive the video game versions are of all the Godzillas are!

Yep! I was originally going to have it be in the video, but it pretty much fell under the same territory as GiH where there isn't in-comic proof of how strong the gods were. You basically have to connect those Greek god versions to their mythological feats to try to scale Godzilla, but that's dishonest in my book. I don't think it's adequate to automatically give any iteration of a god the same feats that they have in mythology.

No he doesn't. Feats, scaling, and statements> outside author statements with no evidence in the source material.
Outside author statements that aren't validated by anything in the comic itself are dishonest to use. The feat was defeating a god who we are given zero proof or mention of its power in the comics. Death of the author can apply too, not to mention that some of those statements aren't even from the person who wrote the issue. The one who wrote Issue 5 himself didn't envision that being as being "mUltivErsal" because it's irrelevant. The narrative was to have Godzilla overcome himself and escape from Hell. You can scale him however high you want as it's "according to the reader", but if you do, you lack of a foundation, simply put. Marvel has a much better foundation and far more proof.

The problem with this and basically all versus calcs involving lightning/magma/black holes is that they clearly aren't treated as though they actually possess the properties they ostensibly should have. That black hole should have killed the planet as collateral but since it didn't it was clearly not as strong as you claim. There's also a massive problem with consistency if you take the strongest feats as the creature's default strengths. Sure, Gojira has busted planets at some points, but at the same time there are thousands of counterexamples of that same Gojira using full atomic breath and *not* busting planets... and that's kind of a problem. This is something that comes up frequently in comics, where a 'badass normal' like batman could be interpreted to hypersonic according to some feats.
Yeah, this video did nothing but remind me why I fell out of battle soap operas that thought the only way to progress was to constantly raise the stakes. And it becomes 8 year olds at recess trying to one up each other about how strong their made up character is. Once you go beyond city or mountain destroying power it's hard to quantify. Saying something the size of a tree can absorb so much from the sun it made it dim, and doesn't just accidentally destroy the Earth by simply existing near it. Ugh. Like stop upping the ante please. People say things like "destroy the Galaxy" so casually with no idea what that actually entails and why it can't exist on Earth. Even without like gravity and energy, if that fucker sneezed... Done

The authors statements on Godzilla in hell don’t imply that it wasn’t god. They imply that it’s meant to be ambiguous whether it is or is not, (like Wonderland being a dream is) leaving the final word up to the reader. And it seems disingenuous to use the lowest interpretation of that when you use higher interpretations based on Word of God for other Godzilla instances.
Regardless, even if we ignore that detail. It would still be the strongest version of Godzilla. As it has demonstrated on screen that there is absolutely nothing in heaven, hell, or earth capable of destroying it. - If Godzilla is hell were to go up against any other Godzilla, or any other Kaiju for that matter, it’s victory would be utterly inevitable. Because even if you managed to kill it, it’s soul would just go to hell, where it would fight it’s way out again and come back to life. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum until it wins.
This makes it literally unkillable, on top of all its normal abilities. Thus the strongest possible version of the character, at least in terms of durability, and likely offensive power to if you aren’t intentionally sandbagging it’s fights.
Edit: also Thor is jobbing. A lot. While his upper limit is ridiculous, he almost never uses it. And is “overpowered” by much weaker characters regularly, because writers find it hard to write stories that are engaging when you have the literal power of god on your side. His power level also fluctuates massively in-universe based on a myriad of factors and over the years. So I wouldn’t put too much weight on that one feat alone without confirmation that he is operating at that level at that time. - it’s still a good feat regardless, because even when acting at a lower level Thor is still easily a city buster, with higher levels scaling up to multiverse buster, just maybe not as reliable a measure as you’re making it out to be. This is comic books, where the rules are made up and the points don’t matter.
Oh my gosh I didn’t even think about that obvious point! You really *wouldn’t* be able to put a stop to GIH godzilla for good if he keep treading out of hell! I certainly doubt certain other versions of godzilla would be able to have a varied enough skill set and emotional spirit to male the journey *glares at earth*

Interesting note: Godzilla not just appeared in anime cross-overs, but also has appeared in his own first anime trilogy (which you brought up). Though the trilogy was meh (imo), but at the least the novels are decent to read. Godzilla also appeared in a few anime-related games. Monsterverse Godzilla's roar is so loud, it can shatter windows & destroy people's eardrums & rupture their organs due to the immense sheer vibrations of his roar. His roar is calculated to be 174 decibels & be heard from 3 miles (though, for me, the audibility radius of his roar should be around 22 miles. 3 miles if kinda lazily estimated by Monarch). In short, Monsterverse Godzilla could kill humans by just roaring at his loudest. The Big G sometimes doesn't need to do much when it comes to humans with weaponry (like, idk, shipgirls or people with mini-mechs on them or something), he just needs to roar & they die lol.
Also, Heisei Godzilla vs Tohru Kobayashi. I wonder how that fight would go down.
Or better yet, name an anime character that could do decently-well against the Heisei Godzilla.
Edit 1: The reason why I brought up the part of the Monsterverse Godzilla's roar being lazily estimated by Monarch because there's some regular animals that can produce vocalization far louder than the Monsterverse Godzilla; A lion's roar can be heard from 5 miles & a blue whale's whistling can be heard from 500 miles away underwater, and yet, those calls were done by regular animals. Monsterverse Godzilla is a superspecies, so his roars should be the loudest ever in that regard, louder than even that of a sperm whale's clicks.
Edit 2: I'm well aware there's going to be some people saying Saitama would beat the Heisei Godzilla without trying lmao. And the fact that I brought up shipgirls & saying they get killed is likely enough to anger some people. You have to know a fact that the shipgirls (both in Azur Lane & Kentai Collection) are based off of actual warships; the same kind of warships that give it their all before getting one-shot'd by the Heisei G (who just does so without even trying at the slightest). Some are pretty, some are spicy; I'll admit that. But you have to admit that just because they're attractive, doesn't really mean they stand a chance. Kinda like the Monsterverse Godzilla; "Oh, he's bigger than the Heisei Godzilla & overall looks cool, so therefore he's the most powerful Godzilla, more powerful than the Heisei & Final War's Godzilla!!!"

As you can see the Volume is not twice as big but rather 8 times or 2^3 as big because that is called the "SQUARE-CUBE-LAW". The only thing in which i am not sure of is the density of a black hole. What I mean is that I am not quite sure if the density of a black hole changes by volume increase (or if it even has one since it is called singularity aka. infinitesimal small point) so that it would bend the calculation so that it is indeed around 8000 times bigger and not 578.703.703.703,703.... times or around 580 billion times bigger/heavier.

Sorry mate but that is not how black-hole science works. The center of the black-hole called a singularity has no surface or volume yet infinite density so the square-cube-law wouldn't really be relevant, as all it would really be calculating would be the event horizon. The actual formula for the black hole mass is based on the calculation for its radius which is r=2GM/C^2 and when rearranging it you get M=R/2G×C^2. Also something that makes no sense about that black hole is that it eveaporated in a few seconds when it would have taken Many Quintillion Years to do so (Still A Large Star lvl feat though.

You forgot to mention how busted Burning Goji’s healing factor is. By the looks of it, he healed from being cut in half by Destroyah as he was being cut in half, appearing like Destroyah’s attack just phased through Godzilla.

My favorite Godzilla is the one from the animated series , was kinda hoping he’d be mentioned in one of these , but I get it nobody likes to talk about the animated series. Power scaling wise He’s not much to talk about anyway , I like him for his sleek appearance, insane agility , and his ease to traverse any terrain , including burrowing for miles in a few seconds . He’s also implied to be one of the more intelligent and tactical Godzilla’s He definitely scales above shin, probably higher than og, but not much more than that . Yeah! All these power scaling feats haven’t really taken godzillas use of tactics into consideration. This is kinda why I like smaller godzillas like 2000 showa and the animated godzilla junior. The have to find ways to work around their often larger foes and their insane abilities.

Also... The monster in Godzilla in Hell represents Godzilla himself. Which is why it took away his atomic breath ability by just thinking about it. But Godzilla sheer will not only overcame that disability, but magnified it by using the full-body atomic blast. Extremely impressive. But how do you measure overcoming yourself? The story does imply Godzilla overpowered both God's & Satan's 'influence' by the halfway point of the story.
