That part at the end caught me off guard. I'd already watched this anime years ago but i forgot that happened. Literally everything just stopped from a moment, your voice stopped, the episode ended and the train I was on also reached it's final stop at the same time. So dramatic yet so fitting.
12:56 I had that same desire for the show to focus more on our protagonists but looking back I understand that this is one of the strongest points of this story: the desire to want to spend more time with someone and not be able to. This applies as much to us watching as it does to the characters. It was a clever way to put us through the pain the protagonists are going through.
the, "do you want to commit double suicide with me" line has been burned into my mind. my old best friend was severely depressed and throughout the years of trying to pull her out of it i basically fell in love with her, her being someone who didn't trust, believe in, or think she was even worthy of a relationship but every other aspect was there. you can imagine how that went, but her leaving felt the same as Kaori's death leaving behind only all the good that was done but never really getting the ending you wanted in the beginning.
On the last line where Koari said that "Want to commit suicide with me?" the subtitle is different on the app where I watch it. It translates "Would you like to come die with me?" The translations or the subs tells a whole different story.

The great use of monotone and shadows in this show is top notch. It not only shows you how the characters feel, but it makes you feel what they feel.
Idk if u noticed or not... U can see Kaori's hair losing the colour in the latter half of the show and that is just so painful:(
