This song was also basically a clap back to all the people saying that all they make is “noise” music . This was from their No Easy comeback (which also sounds like NOISY) they’re extremely intentional with everything they put out and love wordplay.
"Jutdae" is "principles" in Korean. Jutdae is one of Changbin's nicknames; they have labeled him as a "Man of Principles" and it's a topic of conversation or commented on often among SKZ. The woodcutter line is basically, "you've come here to try and cut us up, dismantle us, but you're not going to find what you're looking for". Basically, as the rest of the song states, "back off". They are calling the trash-talkers villains and that they, the noise "Thunderous Ones" have come to snuff them out with all their noise. Basically a big ol' middle finger in the classiest and most entertaining way possible. The beauty of Stray Kids.
They aren't villains❤. Haters are the villains. Stray kids have received a metric ton of hate over the years, especially in Korea, where they really don't fit the typical kpop mold. From the beginning, they have constantly been called "noisy" and have often been disrespected. With this song, they name themselves "the thunderous ones," thus embracing who/what they are and giving the finger to anyone who has a problem with that. "They aren't sorry they're dirty:" This phrase contains wordplay with English, Korean, and Australian slang. In English, they're basically saying they aren't apologizing for being who they are (i.e. imperfect outsiders). However, the korean word "sori" means noisy, so they're also saying their music isn't just noise. In Australian slang (two of the members are Aussies), "I'm dirty" means I'm frustrated/pissed off. Haters are making them mad, but they're still going to unapologetically make music the way they want to. Stray kids lyrics tend to have an incredible amount of multilingual wordplay in them. They're literally geniuses ❤. Tyty for this reaction. Loved how much time you spent on this song and especially love that you checked out the lyrics❤.
One of the things I love about Stray Kids (3racha particularly) - their wordplay & lyricism is top notch. And to be able to do this in multiple languages is crazy. Geniuses indeed!
@@prmtv they were angry. People were saying they were just a lot of noise and would never account to anything. So this was their clap back. Noise? We're Thunderous!
@katherynecrowe5436 yeah I know it's a clap back track I just feel like they wouldn't really be angry. I don't know saying I'm not sorry I'm angry just doesn't make as much sense to me as I'm not sorry we do what we want. Open to interpretation. You mean amount to anything?
If you like rap, check out TOPLINE and MEGAVERSE. They have a lot of rap rap songs. Just trust me these tracks are made for rap lovers. They have A LOT of rap heavy songs, but every song has MV. For example if you love old school rap their Muddy water is precious.
If you want more rap you should listen to their rap songs. Here i recommend a bunch: 3racha Muddy Water I Got It by Han Mirror mirror by Changbin, Millie and F.hero Doodle by Changbin Maze of Memories We Go Heyday Skz have the best rappers in kpops
I've thought about people doing lyrics first and then the video, but damn, there is nothing like hearing the most impactful parts of the song WITH the music video, because you just know that the video matches the energy of the song and will blow your mind. I think if you're lucky enough for this to be your first time hearing a song (I'm so jealous), it's a gift to experience it with the music video. Also, if you're listening to the song for the first time, you're not going to want to be dissecting lyrics. For those reasons i vote MV first, then lyrics, and i will never complain about a repeat of the MV!
This is a clapback at their haters who often complain their music is loud and noisy. So they took heavy percussion in traditional Korean instruments and 808s, sprinkled in some car horns, thunder, and a lot of onomatopoeia to make a song out of literal noise and it's genius. Surrikun is not the word for Thunderous, it describes a loud booming sound. Stray Kids always takes what the haters say and makes it their super power
Color coded lyrics are great if you wanna add them to the reaction! To me it shows you're actually exploring them and trying to understand them which I appreciate because far too many reactors look at the visuals and absorb nothing else. If you want more rap Topline would be a good one to check out. Venom and Freeze have great rap sections as well. Love your reactions! 💙💙 Edit to add: I did see someone else mention that you do need to get the right color coded lyric videos though because some of them are so messed up it butchers the entire song and they are correct. The best and most correct lyrics you'll get are on the music videos CC but I understand if you need the visual element gone to focus. I have no solutions for finding the best color coded lyric videos though.
Changbin is always talking about jutdae (having "backbone" or integrity - steadfastly sticking to one's principles or beliefs). So much so that it has become a meme & one of his nicknames. His favorite life advice is "You try it and judge for yourself. Don't let other people decide for you. I hope you be a person of principles". Basically, stay true to yourself and do not be swayed by other people's opinions. The jutdae meme was even used by Samsung in various ads for the Galaxy S23 and S24 phones starring Changbin. In an interview Stray Kids also said that the word "jutdae" represents the group's identity, as they write & produce their own music, their sound or musical identity is true to themselves.
Been subbed to you from and since your anime reaction channel and now down to the kdrama and kpop pipeline. Love that youre taking your time to react to the color coded lyrics to get a better understanding of their songs, along with the music video productions! Keep doing what youre doing, really appreciate the little details that youre able to point out. Cant wait for more skz reactions from you🔥
If you really like rap, try the song 3Racha from the Maxident album or other songs by 3Racha. They are so good and I love their style. Thank you for this reaction! Thunderous is such a great song!
Funny thing about brand things is that felix is Louis vuttom ambassador( Also for Unicef since he has been donated to kids in needs in lagos, he has also been called the youngest to be part of the UNICEF official ceremony), Hyunjin is global ambassador for Versace and cartier, bangchan is for fendi and I.N is for Bottega Venetta, the others have been to fashion shows or wear there cloths at photoshoots as Lee know for Gucci, seugmin for amiri, chanbing dolce & gabanna, han for balm, but the brand hasn’t name them officially ambassadors (if some has been feel free to correct me) , as a group they are ambassadors for Tommy Hilfiger and went to the met gala with tommy itself🤓👆🏻
To get to know more of the members you should watch a guide or maybe a funny video about them that way you could get to know their personality and that way you could get to know them and maybe become a stay this is a suggestion!❤
Felix is ambassador (I think that’s the term) for Louis Vuitton and Hyunjin is ambassador (?) for Versace. Felix also has a friendship with Tommy Hilfiger. I am not sure how it works with them. I believe Hyunjin is also now the face of Cartier. I’m sure someone will clarify/fix what I am talking about. 😂😂😂
You're correct! Felix is the international ambassador for Louis Vuitton (and he's friends with Nicolas Ghesquière - the designer) and Hyunjin is the ambassador for Cartier and Versace (and Donatella's muse - she calls him "The Versace Prince"). As for Tommy Hilfiger, I don't think they're ambassadors (?) but they had a huge collab with him, not only for the 2024 Fall campaign but he also designed their 2024 Met Gala outfits.
In this video Felix had 3 different hair styles Oreo hair(blonde and black), the blonde with extensions, and then the short blonde with the beanie…. Also, I think the way you did this reaction was great Watch the video do the color coded lyrics to better understand them and the watch the video again. Can’t wait for your next reaction. I think you might like the tortoise and the hare, Topline, megaverse and Middy water
color-coded are not always accurate and sometimes they're a complete miss. i've seen ones that just ruin the whole meaning of a song or even change it. so lyrics on the MVS are always a bit more accurate.
Topline Freeze (lots of guns and rapping 😅) Jutdwae means principles Go back woodcutter, nothing to cut here... Basically means nothing to see here, move along. Telling haters there's nothing for them to hate on here.
More Stray Kids reactions! I'm loving it! Check Megaverse and 3RACHA from them tooooo (rap-focused songs) If you're looking for some girl groups too, you might want to check out XG! ('Woke Up' by XG is a rap-focused song, since you like rap, i bet you'll love it)
next pls reaction to stray kids other songs like "s-class", "maniac", "LALALALA", "case 143", and 3racha songs if u like more rap songs, like "3racha", "heyday" , "just breathe" and "we go". ok thanks

Thanks for your explanation! Well done!
I had no idea, thank you!
One of the things I love about Stray Kids (3racha particularly) - their wordplay & lyricism is top notch. And to be able to do this in multiple languages is crazy. Geniuses indeed!
“I’m dirty” is Australian slang for “I’m angry”
I don't think they're angry though. I think they're saying they're not sorry they don't do things like everyone else

If I’m not wrong it means that they do take things personally, like “I’m not sorry for talking about the sh*t you are talking about me” kind of

Yes!! Topline!

I like the color coded lyrics because it does make a difference having at least an idea of what they’re saying!
Thanks for the reaction! The haters who criticize SKZ are the villains. I don’t know of any SKZ song where they are the villains.
If I don’t remembered wrong, in this MV Stray Kids are Dokaebis ( Korean goblins)
