Last night I indulged in sin, alcoholism and porn. I was up till 5 am and I ended up watching a preaching about how to break alcoholism when it's your flesh and the lady said through fasting. Then I went to my room and I fell to the ground crying like a baby more, and God told me "I want a 7 day fast", and I was amazed because how selfless He is because what God wants is what I need to be freed. Today is my first day fasting so wish me spiritual growth guys :)
Number 1 rule of fasting in the Bible it says your fast is only between your and god. To make sure you aren’t just sitting around and to wake up and wash your face. Tellling people you’re fasting you’ll need to restart your fast.
Amen. I had some evil spirits leave my body early this year. I used to have warts and blisters on my hands when I was deep in the yoga/self-idolatry/witchcraft practice. Fast every week consistently if we stop enemy will attack. I fast before my Lord Jesus from 2pm on Thursdays to 3 pm on Friday, Esther fasting ie 25 hours no water no food. And I can see the difference, worldly thoughts all controlled by the Holy Spirit, protection by angels sent by Lord Jesus, my Jesus's provision. Before when I stopped fasting the enemy attacked me and I went back into the ways of the world.
I have now started a fast and know God is behind it because it has not been hard so far! I used to be involved in the New Age until about 9 months ago someone from my work lead me to Jesus Christ. I did a 6 day last year and had an unexpected exorcism, afterwards went to the most magical place ever, but only lasted 3 days. I am so glad for what Jesus has Done for you. Speaking in tongues and fasting are wonderful tools in helping us to be conformed to His image. I would like to suggest another powerful tool which is baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins as the apostles did through out the book of Acts. When I was young and involved with drugs I repented and wanted to please God but it seemed impossible to change. I visited a church one night and decided to be baptized. I thought that I was making an outward confession of faith. I did not realize that night that my life had changed forever. The next day, I was stunned when I turned down the drugs offered to me. I am still believing God will use you for a deliverance ministry. Clearly the enemy doesn't want that for you. Praying in the Spirit is the key..and also having fellowship with other Spirit filled people. God gives you what you need to set men free..of course it's on them should they not heed warnings in turning back to sin. May He give you understanding of angels being your front and rear guard. I personally believe that your pregnancy can magnify the power of the Lord as Christ says their angels continually face the Father in heaven. I really like this video , I had a smiliar experience, delivered from alcohol when I repented and made Jesus my lord and savor , it's what gave me strength and I prayer for a long time , that I got dizzy and started lthrowing some yellow liquid, and from that yellow liquid a yellow bee came out, or maybe the be was near by and made it look like I threw it up but it looked like threw it up , and killed it and started reading the Bible and oraying and fasting , Jesus found me when I was lost
What God has been showing me over the past few months is that putting my focus on getting closer and closer to Him is much more valuable than anything that has been presented to me as "deliverance." I think that working to draw close to Him and to obey Him brings deliverance from sin and demons in God's timing. But that could be just how God wants me to walk with him. BTW, fasting remains a central discipline in the Orthodox church, which traces its history and teachings back to the Apostles. I'm currently working to understand what is the best type of fasting for me, and I appreciate hearing about your experiences.
Sheerah I’m familiar with the Orthodox Church through friends of my family please don’t pray to the saints or to angels we should pray to God alone. Are are saved by what Jesus has done for us not by anything a church may tell us to do. I do find truth inside the teachings of many of the branches of the Church tree. My comments about Orthodoxy were in relation to fasting, it didn't occur to me that someone might read that as an endorsement of their other doctrines. My take is that I am too ignorant to assess some teachings one way or the other. I certainly don't personally accept and act on everything I learn about. Instead, I seek Scriptural and Holy Spirit guidance on which way to go. I also hold that none of us will know the whole truth until we are living with Jesus in the new heaven and the new earth. In the meantime, it is up to each one of us to do our best to love God with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength, to seek out the truth wherever it may be found, and to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Wow I needed to see this our stories are very similar I also backslid and before that I spontaneously spoke in tongues it was amazing but then little by little somehow got back into all my sin and then deliverance the second time has been very hard. I also was so deeply into the occult for like ten years astrology, “Christ consciousness”, praying to yes different deities and all things pagan. Fasting is def the key and prayer but so true that the second time around it’s a whole different story the first time I was delivered from everything it was actually very easy and I lost all desire this time I’ve been struggling but god is so gracious and has given me another chance today. Starting with just fruit all Day today to ease into the weekend fast. Things are starting to improve with kratom but still have a way to go. My God shot happened when I was lying on the couch a couple nights ago after hitting a little Rock bottom with kratom extracts the day before and I was meditating on the fasts. God told me to get my laptop off the table and I was compelled to suddenly check my emails. It was you responding from my previous comment 6 months ago. How did it go? I’m going to fast for addiction to Kratom and ecig. I have chronic pain from a car accident and wanted to get off morphine so I started this and the wds are awful. I got reborn about five months ago but this stuff has a stronghold on me. I find myself not just taking it for pain. Yeah, am going to fast on Yom Kippur her in a few days for kratom addiction and vaping, 7 year daily habbit with the kratom, I'm talking 30 grams/day. Last time I tried to go cold turkey, I got the sweats, restless arms and my heart started palpitating. I've been saved for 6 years but this is my big roadblock.

I would like to quit both of them eventually but I know when the time is right it will happen. So good!! I need to get into fasting again. I used to be so strong in it, but after I got weaker in my faith (and made some choices I slightly regret) my ability to fast well declined too. You're right, it's all about the flesh getting stronger so your spirit can follow in God's will. When you give up something you physically need to focus on the God you truly need--something changes. Btw my Bible talks about fasting so that one's not changed (it's ESV which is a very literal translation for those that are curious.)
I was addicted to nicotine, that was a problem for fasting I really wanted to fast but how could I fast smoking? So I prayed and asked the Lord to help me, and he did, in tre days, in the first two days I would feel like things moving in me in my back, that opened my eyes,it was defenatly demonic, so I prayed against it and called the Lord, and got out of it. Girl, I know this video is old and you might know this by now but deliverance is REAL and any born again believer can do it. Jesus gave us ALL power over the enemy. He said we will do even greater things than He did because He left us with the Holy Spirit. And it can be done anywhere and any time, you don't have to be in a church at all. Try this: Everyday , write down the word and read it aloud: The HS will make words jump off the page . This works : I was bound by smoking , the HS showed me a verse in the OT which says , Write down my words : And it jumped off the page: So I began to write the word down everyday , that was 2 months ago About 3 weeks ago I lost all desire to smoke a cigarette. I don’t even think about it . God works in funny ways: I didn’t even say to myself , I’m stopping smoking! I finished the last cigarette and never bought another packet.

Our Father, was the good worker in Jesus in the flesh. He has taught me that when I am in Him He is also in me and He is able deliver me from evil. About 2 yrs ago, I considered that God might help me to stop overeating. I had tried many times to stop, even fasting for weeks with water only (I'm a type1 diabetic, nearly killed myself). I was crying in frustration knowing that I was powerless to save myself from the sin of shoving my face FULL of cookies. The pleasure was minimal, it was the relentless slave driver that was in control. I remembered that He helps the humble, desperation is a humble place. I turned my head from the cookies, toward heaven, and asked Him to help, immediately I thought, I could just throw them away. Then, i thought could I? He gave me just enough strength to throw them away. I took them out of the box and mixed them with the trash because I knew I needed to protect myself from grabbing them out of the trash. Then, i dropped to the floor and wailed in gratitude. I was free. I had no illusions that I had beaten food addiction, but I felt Jesus make the "beast" back away enough to let me have the freedom to choose to stop. I have not always wanted Jesus. I forget the evil, i even wished He would look away while I stuffed my face, overeaten and thaked God that I was so sick after that i remembered the evil. John 8:31 Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” God is with me more and more and addiction less and less. I am also learning about how deadly and deceptive evil can be. I am also learning about that much greater strength of the loving God who dwells with me. Who knows the works of God? why He helps us at all and the unexpected ways He reveals Himself? I have learned that scripture is truth, things are as He says they are and I need Him and I have learned that my flesh is week but that I truly hate evil and turn to God for He is good.
the fasting for addictions is water fast for at least 7 days with praying in tongue for at least 1 hr daily not intermittent fasting or fasting with coffee You will have relapses until you apply the required fast that dries out the propensities in you that the devil was using to hook up to alcohol etc. The devil has no power if you have no desire he can use. Deal with the root causes which are fleshly desires and you do so by water fast for atleast 7 days

Especially when we give them legal ground due to sin or addiction or even having occult items in our homes. I have learned to when the devil tells us stuff that doesn’t line up with word of God the Bible speak out loud against it. Deny what the devil. Like if he says you have messed up so bad your going to hell there is no hope for you just speak against it and say what the Bible says I say Jesus has forgiven me by shedding his blood. I will over come by the blood of Jesus. That has help me so mush. We can’t just listen to the devil before long we believe him.
I've had a 7 year kratom addiction. I was using it as means to escape depression, as it gave some relief but now it's just a habit and I feel like it's a roadblock spirituality. And last time I tried to go cold turkey, I had pretty severe physical withdrawals, like sweats and heart palpitations. I want to do a food/water fast but am wondering if quiting kratom and food all at the same time might be too much. But how can I fast and draw closer to God if I'm still taking kratom? What's your thoughts?
Start a food fast and that will help break the kratom addiction. That is how I was able to quit smoking. Get on your knees and pray to God for strength. You can do it! Im proud of you!
I was delivered after the fast. The fasting from food strengthened my flesh so I could stop smoking and drinking. Also pray for the Holy Spirit baptism by fire and praying in tongues

You should watch videos of Steven Bancarz, he has helped me a lot. I was totally deceived by the new age stuff and realized that even meditation can open us up to the enemy. Do you have a Bible? If not you can download a Bible app on your phone. I recommend just try to read about 5 chapters a day. Even if you can just read one chapter it will help. And simply pray and ask God for clarity and discernment and truth. He will send it to you. God bless you!
Could you or anyone who’s fasted give me what a typical prayers fast looks like in a day? I’m thinking of doing 6am to 6 pm. Not sure if dry or water. And I have some deliverance prayers to say. But what other kind of prayers during the day? I feel a little lost
Hi, I don't know if you've found any answers yet, I can only talk from my own experience but any length of fast is better than none. I've never done a fast where I've cut out water so I can't advise you on that. But I think any food fast is beneficial. The Lord knows our hearts, He sees our true intentions, I think during a fast is one time we should be especially real with God, praying from our heart, laying it all out before Him. He meets us wherever we are. God bless, trust the Lord, He loves us, He knows our failings and He wants to repair us. Don't get caught up in what you think you should do, or how you should pray. Hey, just wanted to encourage you. When you are attacked spiritually and are accused by the demonic powers, remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1-2). I have now started a fast and know God is behind it because it has not been hard so far! I used to be involved in the New Age until about 9 months ago someone from my work lead me to Jesus Christ. Since then my mum and sister have turned from the New Age to Jesus. Hallelujah!!!!

I did a 6 day last year and had an unexpected exorcism, afterwards went to the most magical place ever, but only lasted 3 days. I am so glad for what Jesus has Done for you. Speaking in tongues and fasting are wonderful tools in helping us to be conformed to His image. I would like to suggest another powerful tool which is baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins as the apostles did through out the book of Acts. When I was young and involved with drugs I repented and wanted to please God but it seemed impossible to change. I visited a church one night and decided to be baptized. I thought that I was making an outward confession of faith. I did not realize that night that my life had changed forever. The next day, I was stunned when I turned down the drugs offered to me. Jesus Name is very powerful. There are many sites on RUclips about this subject.

I am still believing God will use you for a deliverance ministry. Clearly the enemy doesn't want that for you. Praying in the Spirit is the key..and also having fellowship with other Spirit filled people. God gives you what you need to set men free..of course it's on them should they not heed warnings in turning back to sin. May He give you understanding of angels being your front and rear guard. I personally believe that your pregnancy can magnify the power of the Lord as Christ says their angels continually face the Father in heaven. Sometimes it's scary standung out but they will come to you I believe.

I really like this video , I had a smiliar experience, delivered from alcohol when I repented and made Jesus my lord and savor , it's what gave me strength and I prayer for a long time , that I got dizzy and started lthrowing some yellow liquid, and from that yellow liquid a yellow bee came out, or maybe the be was near by and made it look like I threw it up but it looked like threw it up , and killed it and started reading the Bible and oraying and fasting , Jesus found me when I was lost
What God has been showing me over the past few months is that putting my focus on getting closer and closer to Him is much more valuable than anything that has been presented to me as "deliverance." I think that working to draw close to Him and to obey Him brings deliverance from sin and demons in God's timing. But that could be just how God wants me to walk with him. BTW, fasting remains a central discipline in the Orthodox church, which traces its history and teachings back to the Apostles. I'm currently working to understand what is the best type of fasting for me, and I appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I do find truth inside the teachings of many of the branches of the Church tree. My comments about Orthodoxy were in relation to fasting, it didn't occur to me that someone might read that as an endorsement of their other doctrines. My take is that I am too ignorant to assess some teachings one way or the other. I certainly don't personally accept and act on everything I learn about. Instead, I seek Scriptural and Holy Spirit guidance on which way to go. I also hold that none of us will know the whole truth until we are living with Jesus in the new heaven and the new earth. In the meantime, it is up to each one of us to do our best to love God with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength, to seek out the truth wherever it may be found, and to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Wow I needed to see this our stories are very similar I also backslid and before that I spontaneously spoke in tongues it was amazing but then little by little somehow got back into all my sin and then deliverance the second time has been very hard. I also was so deeply into the occult for like ten years astrology, “Christ consciousness”, praying to yes different deities and all things pagan. Fasting is def the key and prayer but so true that the second time around it’s a whole different story the first time I was delivered from everything it was actually very easy and I lost all desire this time I’ve been struggling but god is so gracious and has given me another chance today. I just gave a box of wine I just bought today to my sister bc I’m like nope. We have two choices god or separation from god. Congrats!

How did it go? I’m going to fast for addiction to Kratom and ecig. I have chronic pain from a car accident and wanted to get off morphine so I started this and the wds are awful. I got reborn about five months ago but this stuff has a stronghold on me. I find myself not just taking it for pain. Yeah, am going to fast on Yom Kippur her in a few days for kratom addiction and vaping, 7 year daily habbit with the kratom, I'm talking 30 grams/day. Last time I tried to go cold turkey, I got the sweats, restless arms and my heart started palpitating. I've been saved for 6 years but this is my big roadblock.

So good!! I need to get into fasting again. I used to be so strong in it, but after I got weaker in my faith (and made some choices I slightly regret) my ability to fast well declined too. You're right, it's all about the flesh getting stronger so your spirit can follow in God's will. When you give up something you physically need to focus on the God you truly need--something changes. Btw my Bible talks about fasting so that one's not changed (it's ESV which is a very literal translation for those that are curious.)

Girl, I know this video is old and you might know this by now but deliverance is REAL and any born again believer can do it. Jesus gave us ALL power over the enemy. He said we will do even greater things than He did because He left us with the Holy Spirit. And it can be done anywhere and any time, you don't have to be in a church at all. Our Father, was the good worker in Jesus in the flesh. He has taught me that when I am in Him He is also in me and He is able deliver me from evil.
About 2 yrs ago, I considered that God might help me to stop overeating. I had tried many times to stop, even fasting for weeks with water only (I'm a type1 diabetic, nearly killed myself).
I was crying in frustration knowing that I was powerless to save myself from the sin of shoving my face FULL of cookies. The pleasure was minimal, it was the relentless slave driver that was in control.
I remembered that He helps the humble, desperation is a humble place. I turned my head from the cookies, toward heaven, and asked Him to help, immediately I thought, I could just throw them away. Then, i thought could I?
He gave me just enough strength to throw them away. I took them out of the box and mixed them with the trash because I knew I needed to protect myself from grabbing them out of the trash. Then, i dropped to the floor and wailed in gratitude. I was free. I had no illusions that I had beaten food addiction, but I felt Jesus make the "beast" back away enough to let me have the freedom to choose to stop.
I have not always wanted Jesus. I forget the evil, i even wished He would look away while I stuffed my face, overeaten and thaked God that I was so sick after that i remembered the evil.
John 8:31 Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
God is with me more and more and addiction less and less. I am also learning about how deadly and deceptive evil can be. I am also learning about that much greater strength of the loving God who dwells with me. Who knows the works of God? why He helps us at all and the unexpected ways He reveals Himself? I have learned that scripture is truth, things are as He says they are and I need Him and I have learned that my flesh is week but that I truly hate evil and turn to God for He is good.

the fasting for addictions is water fast for at least 7 days with praying in tongue for at least 1 hr daily not intermittent fasting or fasting with coffee You will have relapses until you apply the required fast that dries out the propensities in you that the devil was using to hook up to alcohol etc. The devil has no power if you have no desire he can use. Deal with the root causes which are fleshly desires and you do so by water fast for atleast 7 days

I have learned to when the devil tells us stuff that doesn’t line up with word of God the Bible speak out loud against it. Deny what the devil. Like if he says you have messed up so bad your going to hell there is no hope for you just speak against it and say what the Bible says I say Jesus has forgiven me by shedding his blood. I will over come by the blood of Jesus. That has help me so mush. We can’t just listen to the devil before long we believe him.

I've had a 7 year kratom addiction. I was using it as means to escape depression, as it gave some relief but now it's just a habit and I feel like it's a roadblock spirituality. And last time I tried to go cold turkey, I had pretty severe physical withdrawals, like sweats and heart palpitations. I want to do a food/water fast but am wondering if quiting kratom and food all at the same time might be too much. But how can I fast and draw closer to God if I'm still taking kratom? What's your thoughts?
Start a food fast and that will help break the kratom addiction. That is how I was able to quit smoking. Get on your knees and pray to God for strength. You can do it! Im proud of you!

I was delivered after the fast. The fasting from food strengthened my flesh so I could stop smoking and drinking. Also pray for the Holy Spirit baptism by fire and praying in tongues

You should watch videos of Steven Bancarz, he has helped me a lot. I was totally deceived by the new age stuff and realized that even meditation can open us up to the enemy. Do you have a Bible? If not you can download a Bible app on your phone. I recommend just try to read about 5 chapters a day. Even if you can just read one chapter it will help. And simply pray and ask God for clarity and discernment and truth. He will send it to you. God bless you!

Hi, I don't know if you've found any answers yet, I can only talk from my own experience but any length of fast is better than none.
I've never done a fast where I've cut out water so I can't advise you on that. But I think any food fast is beneficial. The Lord knows our hearts, He sees our true intentions, I think during a fast is one time we should be especially real with God, praying from our heart, laying it all out before Him. He meets us wherever we are.
God bless, trust the Lord, He loves us, He knows our failings and He wants to repair us. Don't get caught up in what you think you should do, or how you should pray. Let the Lord lead you.🌷
