Today you are flying with me on a QantasLink (a subsidiary of Qantas) De Havilland Canada (DHC) Dash 8 Q400 for a 50-minute (381 km) journey from the highest city of Australia, Armidale (population: 25,000) , New South Wale, to Sydney (population: 5.4 million), New South Wales, on a slightly rainy afternoon. As you can see, Armidale Airport is small, but highly artistic. After taking off in drizzle, the plane cruises at 25,000 feet and experiences some light icing condition. In the video you can clearly see the thin layer of ice developing on the leading edge of wing and engine inlet. Pilots remove the thin ice on the wing by activating de-icing boot and you can see this action here: 35:01. The turbulence is moderate to severe, and it significantly reduces the cabin service time for crew safety consideration. Following a beautiful approach over sea and beaches, we touch down onto Runway 34R of Sydney International Airport.
Regional cities and towns play a significant role in building, developing, and sustaining Australian society. Currently QantasLink operates 50 Dash 8 variants (3 -200, 16 -300, and 31 -400) mainly serving regional cities and towns across Australia.
“Armidale is a city in the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia.[2] Armidale had a population of 24,504 as at June 2018.[1] It is the administrative centre for the Northern Tablelands region. It is approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane at the junction of the New England Highway and Waterfall Way. The traditional owners of the land of Armidale are the Anaiwan Peoples.” - from Wikipedia
At 1000m above sea level, Armidale is the highest city in Australia. It is known for vibrant autumn foliage and cool breezes in summer. It is also a university town hosting the University of New England.

At 19:50 why propeller is look like not moving lol 😅
Because they’re going so fast that they seem like they’re not moving
cause camera speed cant catch the speed of the blades
Nice video, my dad flies the exact plane!
Thanks for watching. Then you must be a fan of Dash 8. 😄
