In June 1986 , I have visited shillong for an interview at North East hill University. In fact it is an important and loving area. The people are very simple and sympathetic. So far cheerapunji,was called wettest place , but now this village has taken its place. Everywhere we find teashops and samosa shops. The weather used to be nice, no pollution, no Dirt, no crowd, every home is clean and keeps ventilation. Nice, Nafees, nadir place is it. Always i like it, appreciate it.

Bahut pahle se ye wet place hua karta tha par kuch salo me maximum barish ka record khi or ho rha tha ,time aisa aa gya tha ke ise wettest place hataya jana tha par is saal again isne apna status barkaraar rakha . Yha barish hone ka kran iske charo taraf mountain hai jo ise funnel shape deta hai . Isme badal aa kar fas jate hai aur isi liye yha barish jyada hoti h ☺️☺️
The tag of "wettest place" is not fixed, some times Sohra record highest rainfall and sometimes Mawsynram but in terms of tourism, Sohra (Cherrapunjee) is more famous than Mawsynram because Sohra have lots of Waterfalls, caves, double decker bridge and lots of scenic view points and it is properly developed with tourism point of view.
Wow northeast is so beautiful where there is lot of greenery like Switzerland .where we could feel peace and relax,chill,cool by heart far away from metro city life.i would prefer to just open a small shop in hilly areas to just sit do some work and enjoy a peacefull and hilly areas .where some people are friendly to talk there. To just play some games in free time after doing work from shop.
Longest cave in the WORLD 25 kms in length. Mawsyn Ram wittiest place on the planet earth. But it's only during monsoon season. Where as a place in Kenya which remains wet almost round the year.......
