I had a similar experience on the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. We put the water proof ground sheet down so it would collect the rain. The tent went on top and it worked perfectly by creating a water bed effect. Great sleep.

Strip off, dry off, warm clothes ,comfy sleeping bag, tin of something nice and warm can drink. Lie back and chill. Close zipped tent part for extra comfort. Sweet dreams.

Почему-то вспомнился наш с мужем первый опыт похода с палатками. Сразу попали в сильнейший ливень,промокли мы и всё что могло промокнуть. Зато опыта куда ставить, как обкопать палатку,что бы вода не заливалась под дно и другие мудрости получили сполна. Это потом у нас уже был быт налажен полностью. Вот ты сидишь в удобном кресле на берегу озера, любуясь на закат, уходишь спать в палатку с высоким надувным матрасом, чистым плсьельным бельем.... Тишина, только иногда слышится тихий разговор, потрескивание пленьев и иногда всплеск набегщей волны.... Даже если идет дождь, то уюта и расслабленности только прибавляет.... У нас в Сибири такое короткое лето, мы ценим и радуемся каждому тёплому дню... Эх, это видио на ностальгию пробило. Хочется тепла, а пока у нас морозы и надежды на добрый Новый год и Рождество.... Добра всем и света в душе!!!!

I love this because I currently live in a trailer. When it rains hard against the trailer I am in complete meditation mode. ❤☝ I miss those old tin houses 🏘 from back in the day. That kind of rain hit different! I would love to be in a old tin house while pouring heavy severe rain.
