Falkland is another example of the benefits of owning/colonising many lands across the world. As a British, if you are tired of life in the UK, you could go almost anywhere in the world and relax or even settle there. There are pros and cons to it but I think advantages outweigh the disadvantages. How I wish I'm British 😊
The stone corrals, located in many areas, were built by the first Argentine gauchos inhabitants of the islands. The purpose was to keep wild cattle confined. The first constructions date back to 1829, when Luis Vernet served as 1st Argentine Governor of the islands. In 1833, British pirates invaded the islands.
There's no need to change the Eco system of the environment. Trees don't grow there for a reason. If u start upsetting the balance of nature, it will affect the natural chain.
@@gingerbaker4390fack off M8. The falklands need to be more densely populated so we can get an easier clame to Antarctica once all the snow and ice sadly melts away.
No, it is administered by the UK and the people there are British citizens. Argentina never owned the Falklands but tried to invade it once and failed.
@J_thrash Britain had the first claim in 1594 and took possession in 1690, and their status as British islands was made clear through map publications starting from 1702. Britain settled in 1765. Spain bought the French claim in 1767, kicked out the British settlement, and was forced to give it back. Britain withdrew in 1774 to focus on revolutionaries and declared its sovereignty was still in place and that it would return. Spain also withdrew in 1811, but with no indication it would return. Indeed, they didn't. And this happened 5 years before Argentina gained independence, so there could not be a cession from Spain to Argentina.

They have a forest in Hill Cove, West Falkland and I believe Saunders Island, West Falkland.
