    Tim, this series you've done here is both cathartic and heartbreaking. It is the most complete series of deconstruction videos I've seen on a former beloved Mall. I hope that EVERYONE who sees it has a good memory of the place or it makes them think of THEIR favorite Mall. Kudos brother.

      Thank you. This mall closing was like losing a family member for a lot of people here in the Pittsburgh area. It’s especially painful and important because as far as I can tell, it’s the last physical demonstration of DeBartolo’s architectural prowess. His remaining malls don’t have anywhere near the grandiosity that Century III and Randall Park had.

      Wow!! I couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks for posting these series of videos. You rock Tim!!

    What do you think they're going to do with the Neiswonger banners when the portions of the building that have them up get knocked down? Are they going to remove the banner before that portion gets knocked down, or are they going to destroy the banner with the wall?

    What was that truck that was driving inside the mall?

    • @MrTsolar
      @MrTsolar  9 дней назад +1

      One of the interior crew workers. They use the old Sears Auto Center to get vehicles in and out of the mall.

      @@MrTsolarI wonder how they demolish the doorways of the building that are boarded up.

    What part are they demolishing at 2:00?

      JC Penney, the small wing that stuck out towards Route 51. This section housed the catalog counter and hair salon. I’m guessing the second floor above it was office space. If you watch the first part of the October 1 video, it starts with a video inside this section before Penney’s closed.

    Wow clearly they did not take the refrigerant out of that AC unit. So bad for the environment

    • @MrTsolar
      @MrTsolar  4 дня назад

      What makes you say that? There was a crew that went through and worked on all the air units. Some were removed completely, others drained and compressors removed.

      @@MrTsolar Oh okay, maybe I am incorrect in my assumption. At 8:10, you can see a pretty significant white cloud coming from the unit and dripping fluid coming from the bottom which looked like refrigerant to me. Maybe it is just dust. 🙂
      Thanks for the response!

      I’m guessing dust. As for the liquid, it was very foggy that morning, so it’s likely water.
      Earlier in the video, you can see that the roof of Sears is discolored due to all the dust from the parking deck, and the roof is wet from dew and fog. On the Penney’s end, there was a good amount of dust kicked up from knocking walls down, not to mention whatever had built up inside the air ducts from use when the mall was open.

      @@MrTsolar understood. I appreciate your detailed attention to what was going on. I stand corrected. 😊
