- Jim Carter and Phyllis Logan talk about their roles as Mr Carter and Mrs Hughes in the fifth series of Downton Abbey, in this humorous interview with the actors from the period drama.
They have great chemistry together off-stage, too! I wish to see more of them after Downton.
I just love how so many people were asking them from the very start when Carson and Mrs Hughes were getting together. Personally I'm so happy they did in the end, but I don't mind it took its time. I didn't like the way Carson treated her when they first moved in together, so I guess I preferred when they were still only friends in a way, or I wish he'd been nicer in the final series. But oh well. The beach scene and the proposal were everything for me!

Actually, Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Patmore became good friends throughout the series.
Jim Carter may not have spilt wine on Richard E Grant but I believe Hugh Bonneville was not quite as careful . he said in a couple of interviews when he and Richard E Grant had their fight scene he ended up fracturing Richard E Grant's rib.
I saw seasons 1 to 5 already. I wonder, will there be some little Bates children make happy beginnings with the downstairs staff? :-)
hi there every body, I love you alls accent, I love it im going too miss downton abby tv show, I love the way you all talk and dress its so interesting I love the house, i'm so happy about mr. carson and miss hughes it would be nice too see tom and marry and edith all re-marry again. the show is very interesting too watch.

What is the accent the interviewer has ? Is it Irish or Scottish ? (I genuinely want to know, I love these accents so much, but I'm only discovering them.)
