My hand held clenched and I said " ah, you must be new... the members' only restroom is this way... but you should leave that glass on the bar or with a server." We had a nice laugh and quick convo in the member's restroom. He apologized profusely and sent a glass of Johnny Blue my way... My father said " no matter where you go, you've already been there... be comfortable." I'll always remember that, whilst standing on Walt Jr.s' patio.
@Mr. B. Thank you; I truly appreciate it. Although my father and mother are no longer with us, their lessons live through me. Being a 6'5" black man, I typically stand out in most settings. This video put me on to Mr. Samuels years ago. I knew in my heart that I belong anywhere, anytime and become successful no matter what. RIP Mr. Samuels and my condolences goes out to your family. 🕊

Keep uplifting the black community even if the medicine didn’t taste good. You are sorely missed but your knowledge will live on forever
This is my favorite KS video. Had to revisit it after his untimely passing. R.I.P. Godfather.
Thousands of people cross the border and some die trying to get here . You were born here take what’s yours . We will miss you Sir . Thanks for all you’ve done .

Catching up on so many of the gems that "The Godfather" has been dropping for years. Salute to you Mr. Samuels.
Me too
💯
This video needs to go viral all over social media.
I’m so hurt by this loss man .. this hurt more than any celebrity , influencer or family loss .
I’m not ready to accept this .. this is bullshit .
Rest In Peace Kevin. I’m really going to miss you brother. I miss you already. Thank you for everything you did, you did amazing work.
100% correct. I grew in the suburbs. My cousins were afraid to hangout there, go to the lake or 4 wheeling.
Some of us limit ourselves and wonder why we haven't moved forward.
Yeah, I hear you but at the same time we still have to be careful and aware where we go!!!
How many times have a black man and black women been attacked when they found themselves around nothing but people who didn't look like them, especially when alcohol is involved???
Over the summer, a black man was attacked at some campground by a group of Trump supporting white men just because he was black. They had him hemmed up against a tree, while the white people that he was with sat there and watched!!!
Yes, we deserve to go everywhere and experience new things, but I keep my head on a swivel.
@@MADNEWYORKER914
Maybe those blacks need to move.
I am rarely in black spaces & I have rarely had problems. Most white people these days are concerned about your character.
I have found, if you dress or act hood. You get treated that way.
@@strang1124 i completely agree!
Video was aimed to black men but I am latino and this really resonates with me too. I've always tried to "belong" at the places I go to and don't treat myself lesser because of my background. It shouldn't matter. KS is what young men and women need and what we need in politics.
Crying victim lmao. Maybe the fact Asians and middle easterners don’t need affirmative action or diversity hiring because they come from cultures that respect education.
Why don’t Asians, Indians, middle easterners feel this way?
@@eliza1826 wut?
Latino and black men are treated the same in America we need to come together more often
@@XIX965 well no. Blk men need to build with each other first, then get our women. Every other demographic can fend for themselves. They do it already. We shouldn't be concerned with them. They aren't concerned with us.
He is talking about you too my Bro!
This man left a big dent in the universe & he changed my views on life. REst in peace godfather.
Thank you Mr. Samuels. One of the first videos I watched of yours and helped sharpen me up. Alot of us Black Men needed this message. 🕊
This is my favorite video ever from you. It always spoke to me, but now it just hits too different. Rest In Peace.
Kevin as a non black man, you belong there!
Rest in Peace Godfather! Whether people want to admit it or not, or agreed with all your ideas or not, your work was important for not only the black community, but men in general.
BROTHER KEVIN THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE FOR US MUCH LOVE!!! R.I.P.
I agree with everything you stated, Black Men We Belong There Too. I've had tenures with Microsoft, TXU Energy, the Department of Energy and a Financial Dissemination company in Canada and " WE/Black Men " were not present. Every white man who were under my position, or on the same level as I thought I didn't belong there. I appreciate you for this episode my brother.
RIP Kevin, your words may have sounded harsh, but there was truth and wisdom there. This is the kind of content I wish to remember you by.
The words he spoke will age like wine….Rest Easy KS❤️🙏🏿
Whew, this hit close to home. I was enjoying a great glass of McCallan 25, at a certain club, in the city when someone attempted to hand me a glass and ask me where the restroom was. My hand held clenched and I said " ah, you must be new... the members' only restroom is this way... but you should leave that glass on the bar or with a server."
We had a nice laugh and quick convo in the member's restroom.
Dad ensured that with such a stature, I walked through this world with confidence and self respect. But also, to extend these traits to those around me.
Rudyard Kipling's "If" was mandatory reading in my home growing up…
Again, thank you… I'm truly humbled.
Love your father’s message. Absolutely. 😏
Quintin Jones Truly motivating , your greatest enemy is in your mind..... Hold yourself to a high esteem and people will have no choice than to do the same.
Dig the quote bro.. ✊🏿
Quintin Jones that’s a smooth response. I’m going to remember that the next time it happens to me.
I'm on board... A brother who wants men to be fly AND has black self respect.... 👍🏾🙌🏾💪🏾
Peaceful journey Mr. Samuels.
Your impact and influence on progressing our culture is breathtaking.
You are and will be missed.
This man was So misunderstood and underappreciated! RIP King 🤴🏾
He was so ridiculously misunderstood
God bless his soul. God bless his family

@Edward J. Robinson I know brother but just know that even in that moment you’re still the most powerful man to ever walk this PLANET 🙏🏾💯🥰👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I know I needed to hear this... I think it should be mandatory for all young black men graduating highschool to hear this message
J5 they need this before high school
@@tdhutch exactly famma all black men and boys too they have to know this ...
Exactly famma black men go over and say hi. You belong too..
Exactly because they don't know no better we ..we have to tell them....
Or maybe in elementary school.
I listened to this again and this actually brought tears.
❤️❤️
RIP brother. Many people will learn that you had many messages. I'm glad I found you many years ago. Thank you.
This may be among the realest messages I've ever heard; I appreciate you to the fullest extent for this one Kevin. "If I have what everyone has, then I'll HAVE what everyone else is HAVING." Such a profound statement centered in the mindset all of us that have both demonstrated and proven ourselves need to embody.
Keep digging through older and content bro! ❤️✊🏾
This is the truth to bad all the brothers can't get these jewels and let them sink in.
I'll be missing this show. I get usted to this man so much. He was like a family.
That’s literally the same problem I have with the Aviation industry that I’m in. There absolutely not enough brothers in the pilot shit I’m doing, every time I land in an airport there even a brother flying in or in the airport and the worst part that aches my soul is the higher I go the less brothers they are, and whenever I go back to my hometown and try to tell my friends come do this shit I’m doing they always like black people don’t fly planes, I’m like I’m black and I fly planes, and they always tell me you Nigerian you wasn’t born here you don’t know the struggle we face, I’m like yeah your mindset needs fixing
Where do you go and speak and whom do you mentor if you're able to do so at this time? Can u facilitate achools, youth groups or detention centers visiting your facility or company? May I reccomend you seeks a non prof and get a lil bit of money to pay production team to follow i around the facility in a day in the life type fashion. Then do a sit down interview and share your story as well as wisdom and insights gained. This you can post and u can share to all the aforementioned. I believe in you man and if they dont see it how can they know?
I have a cousin who is a pilot, and he only associates with his white side because he is mixed. I bet he wouldn't give that advice that you just gave.
Can you still become a pilot after 30?
@@Chery869 yes you can sir, I know a man who just started at 48
that funny they said you dont know our struggle meanwhile, the Atlanta Slave Trade were they took us from as slaves a place called Negroland from a tribe called Juda in Nigerian
I always get that nod when there are 2 of us in a place society does not expect us to be. I die laughing when my foreign friends ask if we know each other.
This nod is a global brothers thing. It's amazing. It's our secret handshake
I give a head nod to a brotha anytime I see one of us anywhere in public, especially if there aren't any blacks around.

This is probably one of the greatest videos he ever posted.
I love this man. Personal responsibility, hard work, gratitude, everything any man needs to hear. Thank you Kevin!
Even from the grave he is still teaching a masters class!!!
"If I have what everybody else has, I'll have what everybody else is having" RIP Kevin
Coming back to listen to this again after first hearing it in August 2019. Me and this brother are on the same wavelength. Ain’t no excuses. I’m going after everything that I want. I’m going to maximize my time, mind, energy and opportunity to become everything I possibly can. Whether I get to where I went to be or not, it’ll be substantially further than where I am and it won’t be because I didn’t give full effort.
Damn, I am 46 years old and KS has me extra motivated and inspired to change my whole mindset. I wish I had his message when I was 20 years old. Thanks Mr. Samuels.
Folks that are destroying this guys image after his death is foul. His message can't be unseen.

Hey brother, I randomly ran across this video yesterday and decided to watch. I must say that the message was very impactful and resonated with me. As a black man in corporate America I have always held my head high, walked & spoke with confidence and always went for what I wanted. As you stated, we deserve to he here! It was earned! Loved the video my brother, you have a new subscriber.
This brother is absolutely right with some thing's! It's our mindset... we have to overcome mental slavery
You are preaching man , teach these boys how to be able to fly in any weather.
This man DEEPLY CARED!
My sentiments exactly! Never let someone's negative perception of you become your reality.
2pac playing in the background was an extra bonus. Great Content 💯
This video put me on to Mr. Samuels years ago. I knew in my heart that I belong anywhere, anytime and become successful no matter what. That’s why I worked so damn hard to get to where I am now in Leadership. What he said about those fearing of going to the upper echelon because of the feeling of we don’t belong there is so true. I’ll sum it up in a phrase, “Crabs in a bucket”
He also was very instrumental on my road to recovery from a very dark place I was in.
This is a must watch for all Black Men.
RIP Mr. Samuels and my condolences goes out to your family. 🕊
I never thought I'd be this hurt when a celebrity passed but I truly had so much respect for this man such a great loss
One thing I learned from Kevin is that being Selfess and Humble gets you into high places.
After all he achieved he had a right to boast, but he kept himself humble and then to go futher he sits in the servant's position to help other Black men get to where he is.
I wish he had a son lol
This was the first KS video I seen. I subscribed right after.
Digging through your catalogue for these one on one videos feels like you talking to me specifically, miss you already Godfather
