Doyle is an old friend whom I met and chatted with at the Taylor guitar factory@ 5 years ago. He signed my "814CE" I had just purchased there., along with a few lefty jokes. A great guy and Gifted Musician. Godin is Blessed to have him.
How about a word for this wonderful guitar player, Doyle Dykes? The Godin is certainly a great sounding instrument in his talented hands, and I own a Godin Multiac LGX-SA electric that I enjoy, though I wish I had chosen the Grand Concert model for the lush classical acoustic sound. But an old story about Chet Atkins recalled when he was recording one day in a studio, and the producers raved on about "how great the guitar was and how great was its sound". Chet was a bit miffed, and putting the guitar down asked, "So how's it sound now?" Wonderful sounding guitar in a fabulous player's hands.
I don't much care for the term "best". Too many criteria. Doyle is one of my favorites as he has the direct lineage to Chet Atkins. I have to put Tommy Emmanuel and Richard Smith in that group of elites.
I really enjoyed my (early multiac) Godin when I was playing. It is a tough and resilient guitar for regular work. This one sounds great (as most do) with the blend between piezo and mic.
"Hear the bells ringing, they're singing...." Haven't heard that one in a while. What a great song and a great player. I really like my Godin Grand Concert Duet Ambiance.
@@wildbillhackett Thanks for that info, Will! I didn't know 2COA did it earlier. LIstening to their version now, and I, too, prefer Keith's version-maybe the intimacy of hearing the encounter from a single person's perspective. -Tom
What a pleasure to listen to a very high level musician playing a Godin guitar! It makes all the diference in the world! Even a Ferrari is not at its best if driven by a poor driver!
When great players like this demo guitars it’s so much easier for me to gauge things like buzz, sound decay, and string noise inherent in the instrument and pickups.Tone is important but it’s also sometimes just a matter of preference. I really appreciate being able to hear if you can get clarity with certain guitars.
Years ago Doyle did a Guitar Clinic at our local music store when he was rep for Taylor. I was simply blown away by his musicianship! Never did purchase a Taylor but am considering the Taylor GS Mini for travel. Wonder if Godin has a smaller version?
Your talent is God given and you always show us that. Why does Godinez not produce an concert ambient model with the thirteen pin hookup for synths. That would cover every possible player desire. I got a black narrow neck multiracial.....Always in tune unlike my Chet Atkins CEC . I wish my Gibson had the Godinez electronics. Keep praising God through the talent and music he has given you. God Bless.
I love hanging out by the Music Zoo .... (give a holla to Jessica & Rose ...) Now does this Godin model have a mic Pickup that picks up body tapping / slapping ?
I' m told by dealer in Kuala Lampur the spectrum is discontinued and use the multiac steel now. But they are not the same in controls right. Can I quickly turn off the lipstick with one quick button while playing ? What else. .. i thougth this was great with a smaller nut and diffentt button on the controls. that the steel does not have ???
Superb sound... I wonder if what we're hearing was recorded in line. If the answer is yes, what kind of hardware you used to capture the sound? Also wonder if it had any kind of process afterwards. Thanks you in advance :)
A beautiful instrument in the hands of a brilliant and versatile player. He really had some fun with that!

Mr. Dykes you are fantastic virtuoso. Thank you for making us happy. Greetings.

Yes, Sir! BRAVO!
Love Chet! So true!
Doyle is beyond awesome. He gets the best out of any decent guitar. The best finger stylist I have witnessed.

Right, Keith Green's "Easter Song." I would have loved to hear the whole piece!
@@TLMuse Actually Ann Herring wrote it but Keith added an extra verse. I like his version better.

gorgeous guitar!
Mr Dykes on a nylon string sounds so much nicer to my taste, great performer indeed!

Wow!!!!

Juan Manuel Oliveri “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”
👏👏🏻
which model is this. How is it at loud stage volume with monitors?
HEY MUSIC ZOO......... This Godin Multiac guitar is not the Nylon model......it's the Grand Concert Duet Ambiance
Picker Supreme
Doyle could make a broom sound like a Ramirez.
Excellent demonstration. What is he playing at 4:24?
Philip Bard The Easter Song by SECOND CHAPTER OF ACTS
Thanks!
Cordoba model is 1/2 the price...
Assistir o faroeste o forte da vingança
No matter how many simulated mics you throw in, it will keep sounding like horse dung.
I can only imagine how bad this guitar must sound being played by anyone other than Doyle.
nitetrane98 It makes anyone sound better. I love mine!
Sounds clunky ! The Cordoba Stage sounds better and is only $700.00.
Sounds dead even with a great player.
Your headphones must be terrible!
