That was a very informative assembly tutorial, thank you! I have a tip to stop bobbin rattles. I use Burt's Bee's Lip balm on the metal shaft, (less messy than Vaseline). I also have a sewing machine felt washer that I use between the bobbin and the flyer, it stops all nasty noises!
Just watched a show on PBS about alpachas and have become extremely interested in spinning. Your video was one of the most informative I have seen so far!
Start with a drop spindle - so easy to learn, and cheap to start! You'll be spinning in no time, and it's so meditating and calming! Very good for the soul, these days. There are listings on ets where you can get a top-whorl and bottom-whorl, AND fibere to spin. I can link you one if you like!
Hiya, me again I am also In the uk and I would really like a majacraft little gem, would you be able to give me some advice on how you bought yours from abroad please?
Hi Kieron, My partner bought mine from an eBay seller in Alaska. I wouldn't recommend that seller, as the customer service was terrible. The wheel came straight from New Zealand in perfect condition. Before you buy make sure you've got all the numbers correct. Check the exchange rate is correct. There will be a charge when you collect the parcel from Royal Mail for VAT and a customs handling charge. When I got my wheel the customs charge was about £8. Even with the extra charges, we still saved £100 on the wheel. I've heard very good things about Vintage Purls in Dunedin NZ, but haven't used them myself. Does that help?

Thanks Ruth. I have some Artworks bobbins now, and they don't rattle.
What a "NIFTY" little thing, so sweet thank you.
Wow what a wonderful little spinner. I would love a spinner and have been seeing many portable ones. thanks for the demo

Very helpful video. Thanks for taking the time to make and post it.
Thank you for the video, I’m about to get a Little Gem and found this helpful. You also have adorable dogs.
I'm so pleased this helped you. I've had other wheels come and go in my life. This one has stayed.
Thank you! Great assembly tutorial and spinning demonstration!!
I want one now.
Love,
Yulia
