It’s really annoying and hypocritical how the LIS fanbase loves and sympathizes characters like Frank and Nathan, and excuses their horrible actions because they are “funny” and Chloe as the other main love interest + also gets excuses for her questionable/horrible decisions like taking advantage of Max and her powers multiple times to the detriment of Max’s health because she’s “funny + relatable” but then hates on Warren for “stalking” when this was right after he got beat up defending Max from Nathan in ep2 and probably wanted to meet up w/ her and make sure she was okay. I’m saying this as someone who likes all these characters.
@@justmundane 100% agree. i don’t get how frank’s actions are so overlooked since his relationship with rachel had such a bad power imbalance due to him being much older than her and being her drug dealer. not to mention that he threatens to kill max if she spills his drink on him.. nathan i do feel some sympathy for but i do feel as though the fandom babies him in a way and they just use the fact that he was manipulated as a way to excuse him of his actions. he drugged rachel with the intention of taking photos of her without her consent and despite the fact that he overdosed her, he did it again with kate and chloe. his trauma and poor mental state should not absolve him of his. chloe was downright horrid sometimes. i love her but she really does lack empathy sometimes. she is constantly pushing max to her limits and making her prove herself because max ghosted her when they were like 15. she’s also pretty insensitive when it comes to kate just because she believes she has it worse. not to mention how she treats her mother. chloe is a very damaged person but, like nathan, that doesn’t give her a free pass in treating people the way that she does. despite all this, a nerdy 16 year old boy is talked about like he’s morally equal to jefferson. warren says stupid things sometimes but it’s obvious that he’s nervous and weird around the girl that he had a massive crush on. and max isn’t as defenceless as some people think, if she was uncomfortable with warren’s comments she could easily call him out on it or just stop being friends with him. instead max trusts him enough to let him know that she’s building a pipe bomb to break into a locked room in their school in the middle of the night and to tell him about her time travelling abilities. warren is a flawed character and obviously has a lot to improve on (like the way that he talks to women) but if he’s such a bad person then characters such as max, kate and brooke wouldn’t think so highly of him.

I used to think Warren was super creepy due to certain dialogue, but he grew on me after I replayed the game recently :) There's definitely still some moments that gross me out (like in the parking lot when he says "Sensitive usually means 'I won't have sex with you'", or him admitting that he watched Kate's video multiple times), but I always thought that the nightmare sequence or the peaking around the corner reasoning for him being a creep didn't really hold weight.
Warren's my fav from LIS1, I'm team Warren all the way. I do feel like it says somewhere in game that Warren is part of some accelerated program, and that's why he was allowed to attend Blackwell a year early.

Instead, he's willing to listen to HER and help her out. Like- Warren is such a great guy! Even if you don't have Max reciprocate his feelings, you gotta admit he's a good friend. I get that Warren says weird, maybe gross stuff even, but he never came across as someone who was creepy or had mal intent to me. Just an awkward teenager. This aspect of him is relatable to me (as someone who was once a teenager, I had said weird and cringey stuff that looking back I would slap myself for). I just think Warren is severely underrated/under appreciated in the fandom .
Warren really could have been Max's roommate in Double Exposure in the Sacrifice Chloe path. While Chloe is Max's roommate in the opposing path. To state the obvious.
You can't imagine how much that would have upset the fandom. Most LiS fans are female and they all think that Warren is a stalker because of him peeking over the corner that one time. I know that women are extra cautious about these things (unless the guy is attractive) but come on.
I was 16 at the start of my senior year, personally. But, Warren does appear to be very smart as we know, so I wouldn't be surprised if he just moved up a grade at some point. Especially since he was probably only a month or two away from the grade cut off since he was born in November.

I always assumed the seniors only thing was just for the boarding school aspect, and the younger grades were all day students. That wouldn't explain the Warren being younger thing, but it would make sense for everything else.

brilliant video! only thing i want to add is that if you talk to warren after agreeing to go to the movies with him he says that he has to tell brooke he’s not going with her anymore (or something along those lines) which i think largely contributes to people pushing the ‘warren is a player’ narrative. it’s very heavily implied that he asked brooke almost as a back up, so that he’ll have a girl to go to the drive in with regardless of whether max says yes or no. aside from that sidenote i think this is an excellent analysis of his character!!!!

I don't think having more than one girl/boy you are interested in is a bad thing as long as you stay loyal in an actual relationship. No one's entitled to a single person's full attention, especially if that same single person isn't entitled to not be rejected.
what I do find creepy about warren and what wasn't mentioned in the video is his line where he admits that he had watched kate's video several times. yes, he also says that he is worried about her and stuff, but I really can't come up with any explanation why would anyone watch it several times without the reason for it being creepy. alright, first time you watched it accidentally without really knowing what are you clicking on, someone send it to you for example, or you were too curious which is natural for people, but several times? knowing well that kate wants this video to stop spreading and wouldn't be happy finding out that her friend watches it. I guess you can come up with an innocent explanation that he just wanted to, I don't know, investigate??? to catch all the details and find the person behind this, but warren never said anything of that sort himself, so that's like a little bit of a copium. I think that the most realistic description of him would be that he isn't of course some psycho or mastermind, but rather an edgy teen boy, and man, some of them may appear to be really nice and kind people, but they do enjoy to watch/read/play fucked up shit, sometimes absolutely immoral, even towards people who they know personally. I think it just makes him realistic because I used to know a loooot of guys like that when I was a teenager myself
