- this is my first attempt at making pixel art, i tried to recreate r2 in the most faithful version possible, i hope i did a good job at it
My New Discord: / discord
This faithful creation is really nice as it effectively paints the way R2 could've looked in the most accurate depiction I've seen yet. Wonderful job on the pixel art.
Finally...
Someone that learned DA Garden's theme was R2's actual music
I mean he IS part of the official sonic cd team
@@Dadarkman2014what lmao?
....no@@Dadarkman2014
I never would have guess that R2's name was "Dubious Depths". Not that I have a problem with the name, it's just not what I saw coming lol. But it makes sense though, since one of the earlier layouts of little planet showed R2 as having tunnels going into it.
another possible name is ridicule root
@@blooTalkoes it could’ve also been a earlier name for the zone just like how palm tree panic was called salad plains
@@sometf2player752 that's why i said possible
Hey yo, that stage design looks sick, I've actually to conceptualize R2 myself ever since I heard your restorations of the songs of the other time periods (which are all really good by the way), and this looks really good.
You did an excellent job on that pixel art.
This design for dubious depths is pretty accurate when you think about it. Almost every zone in CD has some resemblance to Sonic 1’s level design.
if it were to be added, they would probably add mutiple paths and only have the outside sections
that's what i did with my marble zone inspired level in my fangame, "desert ruins"
I love the commitment you're making to restoring R2! Looking at the Salad Plains build of Sonic CD, there was two unused objects; one that overwrote tiles for a waterfall effect, and another that changed the layout when Sonic touched it, as if it was crumbling down. Maybe those were meant for R2?
Also considering your music restorations, I wonder what you'd do for the intended loops that were meant to play in between the tracks.
OH WHAT
thats sick
also i think they made their own loops (at least for the "bad future" version)
Love the similarity to marble zone
This Level Disign Is Amazing!
You really should ask people to make a mod sometime. Your content is just... Too good.
I already tried and i ended up getting betrayed
@@thesoniccdproject This is so sad. I really think you should try that again sometime. This has just too much potential.
As some say, Extraordinary things can happen, If you believe in yourself. You've got to have some faith in yourself, If you want respect from your friends.
@@thesoniccdproject what exactly happened?
@@thesoniccdproject I would help with design if I could. I would aslo choose where the underground stuff would be. I am developing games so I know how to make most stuff. Kinda. It is so sad that your helpers betrayed you.

Beautiful video
This is really cool for the Present version of R2. Special Stage 4's Background would be ideal for the Past version based on what you mentioned in your video about R2 being inspired by a Castle in the Sky type concept. Special Stage 6 Background minus the psychedelic sky would be ideal for Bad Future version since the buildings fit the Ancient Ruins theme.
Can't believe it was the da garden theme the whole time the r2 pressent theme was under our noses and we didn't even know
Like most zones in Sonic CD, needless to say,, this looks very similarly to its Mobius counterpart (Marble Zone), just without lava. It's a perfect place for a really evil Bad Future theme - a little like Tidal Tempest, which really fits a Bad Future but doesn't fit an underwater area at all.
Makes you wonder if Quartz Quadrant and Wacky Workbench are based on zones that didn't make it into Sonic 1.
So you took inspiration from the old little planet map ?
Cause it just like the r2 from the map looks like a marble zone and a maze
This looks incredible 🤩
Excellent Pixel Art!
That looks really good
i really love your art style bro
Nice pixel art, dude. As a first attempt, this is amazing.
I knew I recognized this somewhere this music is also used for the mobile remaster of sonic CD, if you go to the game instructions this music plays in the background
Sounds like good future, for unknown for me reason
Good! And thanks for reopening.
とても良い!
I want relic ruins in Sonic CD
Sonic games have a tendency to scrap absolute bangers. Hidden placace and its original theme, dubious depths and its many versions, and the sonic 3 prototype music. In my opinion the prototype music is better than rhe Michael Jackson music.
Yo, mind if i use ur Level Paths for my Sonic CD+ game?
Sonic cd game? Can I see it
Not done yet bruv, might be in 1 year
