Brilliant no nonsense, straight to the point videos! If poss could you do one on how to resolder a leaking joint without disassembly (I know it’s not recommended, but often it’s impossible to disassemble one joint without affecting other joints).

What would you do differently if you only needed to take one piece off from the joint?

Just to make sure I understood the video, when you soldered the straight fitting on, you only soldered one end, and the other end was already soldered to the smaller stub pipe, correct? I ask because I need to unsolder one side of an elbow and keep the other side soldered nicely and not coming apart.

no he soldered both at once, if he had already done the other one it would of probably melted the solder on the other end and ruined the fitting.

1 question. Do you not need to add any solder when you reconnect the straight piece of copper or are you just reheating the solder that was there already? Thanks for the video!!

He used a Yorkshire fitting which has solder inside it. There's another video on using this type of fitting.

Ah, my pipe is in the wall and had water in it. I've turned off the water, but it keeps running. Someone told me to stick a bit of bread in the pipe. It will stop the water and flush out when the water is on.

Yorkshire fittings are manufactured with the solder already in the fitting, so when you apply heat to it, when it reaches the correct temperature, the solder runs out of the fitting. Hope that makes sense, if not, just read up on Yorkshire fittings.

No body seams to want to demonstrate on anything but half inch. Half inch doesn't take much. Lets see the in the wall technique.

Same thing really apart from when soldering a full job you want all your pipework and fittings connected and in situe then you simply go from fitting to fitting 👍
