Oh! This sounds exactly as in my mind I imagine that Tristan und Isolde should sound! I really would like to be able to come back to De Nationale Opera for this opera
One simply cannot like Merbeth's portrayal of Isolde - beautiful, deep voice, yet gigantic wobble and utterly incapable of delivering emotion besides a vague feeling of overall insanity. Magnificient Gould on the other hand...
It's like people in the marketing/video dept are trying to sabotage careers and opera in general. How can an opera company actually think this is worthy of an upload to promote their production, unless they are supremely unintelligent? Do they hate having jobs? Why try to convince people this as worthy of a ticket? Not a rhetorical question. I'd like to know. I'm pretty convinced the person responsible for uploading this is an idiot.
Ricarda Merbeth IS SINGING SOLO!!! THIS IS A DUETTO! OMG!
Thanks for posting. Now I know that I can save a ticket for Merbeth´s Isolde in Berlin next season ;-)

I feel sorry for Merbeth.
Check her schedule.
Heavy roles galore.
Wobble will only increase…

so bad.....very bad Katastrophe...seems you have no clue or knowledge!!!!
She has no wobble in live performance, massive voicesike hers often record differently than they sound in the hall.
@@emcd3589 I have heard her as Isolde live and still stand for my initial comment.
Wenn sie die Brünhilde singt, gute Nacht, tut mir jetzt schon in den Ohren weh, Isolde...
Terrible
But Stephen Gould is good, have heard him in person
