If you watch defensemen at the highest levels you can see they are great at finding shooting lanes on net. They are able to do this by getting their eyes up and recognizing the open options. Also they do a great job getting to the middle of the ice to be able to see more of the net as well as spread the defending team apart to create gaps in their coverage. In this video we are breaking down the main components of receiving the puck, getting our eyes up, walking the puck to the middle, and getting a shot on net. We hope you enjoy!
