1:11:37 I've been thinking about this theory too, with Quintus being the Centurion at the cross of Calvary. Some people think it's gonna be Atticus, but i think he's too high in the ranks to serve in such a role. But Quintus, weve seen how he liked Matthew and was entertained by Jesus, but now that he's gotten demoted trying to stop Jesus, he has the motivation to want Jesus dead. And my gosh, your idea of Quintus nailing Jesus to the cross with a sick smile on his face, im like, "Ohhh it makes so much sense that they would do that but GOSH that would be TRAUMATIZING to watch!"
great opinions..Dallas did spend alot of time with the setting of 1st century...glad he got to showing the close relationships of the disciples! In real life, the actors say they have made life long friends! And it shows!
Good point about the development of Judas, thinking his skills got him into the group. He was also (in the Chosen) given the responsibility of the purse early in his discipleship, and his former experience with a wide variety of peoples could have allowed him to feel like he was elevated -- exactly like James and John are trying to be.
Your comments about the touching,.. I noticed that Jesus doesn't touch the opposite gender as a greeting,.. but only when he's offering comfort. Those are the subtleties that need to matter the most. The comfort touch of Jesus because hes not afraid to go against the "norm"
I also have noticed that he doesnt touch women except for comfort, I think they could have made him go against the norm a little bit more by having him touch women as much as the men, but maybe it doesnt matter anyway coz this a fictional version of the past anyway
It didn’t occur to me about Mary of Bethany having a crush on Jesus. Whenever I’ve read about her interactions, I always assumed her love and worship was from a pure place. But now that you mentioned how she was smiling, I can see the googley eyes now. I can’t wait to watch these episodes over again.
Thank you for opening your video with prayer! Just finished watching episodes 4-6, and I have to agree that they were far more engaging and cinematic than episodes 1-3. 😊 I just found myself grinning from ear to ear in so many different places. By the way, the cart of stones in Solomon's Colonade was for repairs being made to the temple. The intro to that scene showed stonemasons working on a section of the wall.
@@TeamV_YGO Well, I don't want to provide spoilers if you haven't seen the episodes yet, but the scene in question is pulled straight out of the Bible, an amalgamation of John Chapter 10.
@@TeamV_YGO No, that's from John chapter 8. Jesus doesn't say that phrase in this Solomon's Colonnade scene--or anywhere in these episodes, for that matter. As you know, the writing team behind The Chosen is fond of mixing and matching different teachings, stories, and events for clarity or conciseness. But they stick pretty closely to John 10 in this scene, combining the different shepherd/sheep analogies from John 10 with an emphasis on the "one flock, one shepherd" bit. I'm blanking on the specific wording in the scene, but the religious leaders get angered when Jesus implies that both Gentiles and Jews are welcome in His kingdom, and angers them still more when He says that He and the Father are one.
Remember when the zealot was going to kill Simon Z, he said to Simon, “Mine is the last face you’ll ever see.” I’m sure that’s why it set him off in that scene when Kafni said it to Jesus.
You know, i really REALLY loved everything they did wkth Gaius in this episode, but i have ONE nitpick about it. See, because in his office, Gaius outright warned Peter and Matthew that a man named Atticus would be spying on them, that whole time when he was going through the marketplace or especially when they asked Gaius to wait outside of Peter's house, i was waiting for Atticus to show up and spy on Gaius or even confront him before he got inside Peter's house. Like i thought he would pin him to the wall like "What do you think you're doing?!" and Gaius would resist, Atticus would see what happens and would later find out about his half son being healed. It was a LITTLE BIT WEIRD how they mentioned that to the Disciples that this man was gonna be keeping an eye on them, and yet the only time we saw him in these 3 episodes was only at the very beginning. Because theres the chekov's gun writing method where, you place or say something in a story with the intention of bringing it back for an upcoming scene, and that wouldve been a GREAT lead-in for Atticus's moment in episode 8 of, "ive seen things that i cant explain." But, WHAT HAS he seen?! Because, it's been confirmed that he did NOT see Jesus on the water, so unless hes talking about the gatherings and crowds, what has he seen thats wrestling his thoughts? Also, we're in Season 4, and i STILL dont understand how he can stand in plain sight while being hidden from people! It drives me NUTS!! 😂😂

I agree these episodes are like a feast and I wish we could watch one at a time, but I think I will like having that experience when it comes out on the app! I think it's kind of cool that the episodes aren't really bound by time, like commercial tv or movies, but that does mean the writers do have to work really hard on the pacing. So far I think they've done a pretty good job, even if it's a LOT of talking. The good - the cinematography continues to been great, the desaturation of colors as the characters are flashing back to the aftermath of Ramah's death, the immersiveness of the sets, the lighting reflecting characters' emotions, hiring Akis really-long-name as DP was one of the best decisions Dallas has made for this show. The bad - hard to find one, but the time spent with the religious leaders was a lot of talking and a lot to process. It was nice to have the theater sound system pick up every word though. The great - the acting, all the performances were beautiful and believable. We've got a large cast now, but each character comes to the forefront at some point and has a moment to shine as a 3 dimensional character. With regards to Gaius, you forget that he is still under orders to keep order and to dispel the crowds. He’s freer to talk to the disciples yes, but he’s still under scrutiny to deal with the issues Quintus could not. Since the disciples are going to Jerusalem, Gaius won’t have to deal with the crowds the same way Quintus did. As for Kafni, I knew he was gonna be very very angry. I’m not surprised how his character is part of propelling the story forward more quickly now. I think he will possibly be at the trial of Jesus and the crucifixion, keeping true to his promise that his face would be the last one Jesus sees when they next see each other. Peter (paraphrasing): Did Gaius just convert…? What a foreshadowing of him and Cornelius, and him eating with Gentiles in the church in the book of Acts

I found these batch of episodes WAYYYYYY stronger than the collective of Episodes 1-3. Amazing stuff writing wise from Dallas, Tyler & Ryan, arguably some of the best stuff they’ve done imo. However, admittedly I’m curious to see how they’ll wrap up this season, it almost feels….”too short”. For example, Episodes 1-2 narratively (aside from the stuff with Peter) sort of feel disconnected from the rest of the season, although they do a good job of “easing” us into the darkness. Episodes 3-6 sort of feel like their own “show” in comparison, in my estimation. Which, while overall greatly executed (aside from gripes on Ep. 3), I wonder how it will overall affect the cohesiveness of the season. Episodes 7 & 8 collectively are a little over 3 hours long, so this should be a fun one! [Especially considering the excellent job they did in the S3 finale]
Jesus was anticipating his 3 crushings...like the olives are pressed... the three stones are representing each pressing... this was significant to Jesus.
I thought the same thing when Jesus was having a distressed moment just a few feet away from Zebedee and Tamar and Mary. I thought he was far away too. And yes, I thought the same things about him being in the same place where he was with the kids (Season 1, episode 3)
Interesting thought that came from a conversation with a friend after watching 4-6 last night... I've not been a fan of the connection between Bathshebas child dieing and Rhama's, because as stated the child died due to sin, Rhama did not, but what if that is not the connection at all?!? We all, like Davids servants have been afraid of what David (Thomas) will do when he hears the child is dead (that Jesus can raise the dead.) But what if Thomas like David reacts exactly the opposite of what we expect? Making his comitment to Jesus stronger, not weaker.
Well said. It's not the death of the Bathsheba's child and Ramah's death that are connected, it's David's faith and Thomas's faith, and our faith in suffering that is the connection- our connection to faith in Jesus.
I was wondering if Mother Mary even knew about Ramah. I would think she would have been really impacted. She mentioned before that she loved the ladies the most or they were her favorites. I know it’s been 6 months since Raman’s death but it was never mentioned if she was ever told.
@NowLetsBeHonest I am thinking that Atticus will be the man (centurion) at the foot of the cross who says, "Surely this was The Son of God". The way he is always following Him, due to his "curiosity"..........SEEK and ye SHALL find..... What are your thoughts on that?
I wish we had seen more of Judas as well, but maybe they didn’t want the audience too attached/sympathetic to him. Would love if Dallas ultimately gives some insight into this.
Atticus has never fully been against Jesus. He's been more curious and "concerned" in the same way he was about Simon the Zealot. In the background, watching and curious. 8 have my suspicious about where his character is going though... 😮 and its a doozy!!
It didn't feel long to me but I don't care either way so maybe that's why. I agree with the time jump helping with what happened in episode 3 not overshadow things as much (it still ruined that line from Thomas that was from the Bible for me though and it should be interesting to see how the Jesus bringing back Lazarus will work in light of what happened in episode 3). I find it interesting The Chosen is going with the AD 30 date for the crucifixion instead of AD 33 because I've always heard AD 33 as the date (the book I'm currently reading The Final Days Of Jesus even mentions the two dates but they went with AD 33 as the more likely). I wonder if they'll talk about that in the Bible roundtables.
@Now Let's Be Honest - Would you consider doing a video on the politics around the Temple? The show seemed to spend a fair amount of screentime on that. I'm hardly an expert, but the debate between the Sadducees and Pharisees, for instance seemed to ring true. But I did wonder if it was probable they issued specific decrees regarding Jesus. I also was confused a bit about Shmuel. I know there's been a time jump. He's been able to become more comfortable with his seat to the point where he was explaining the inner political machinations to Yussif. But in one of the first three episodes when Shmuel was still a rookie and flustered, didn't he leave the Temple saying he was going to look for Jesus to get answers to some of their questions? I felt like maybe a transition scene was missing.
I was a bit confused about thr Shmuel stuff as well. In all honesty, there was so much information being dumped in those scenes that I was finding them a bit hard to follow, so I'll probably have to wait until the episodes are released on the app before I can make sense of it all🤣
I think the reason matthew didnt hug gauis is coz he didnt pick up on the social cue when gaius held his arms open, i could see that matthew looked a bit confused as what to do, im autistic too, so i like analyzing when matthew is being autistic hehe xD
You might not want to say "to where" and "whereas" in 49:22 every sentence.... it is hard to not want to listen. Braveheart and Titanic were pretty long movies. If it is good, you think it is too short because you are rivited to the screen. I can't go to see it at the theater for a variety of reasons.... but i can watch a whole season easily when i have the time. I sometimes think you need to feel and not just think to get what a movie or character's development is. The Beatitudes and all that Jesus teaches/ preaches are forging relationships with the apostles to be. He was living life with them to teach them as well. The "fireside chats" are also where we see the apostles growing. And in their relationships with each other you learn what their relationship with Jesus is. I grew up in a healthy and vibrant Baptist Church with wonderful Pastors.... but i learned far more from seeing them live real life than from any sermon.
Most people miss the understanding about Lazarus being asleep. It is the same for all men, when we die, we are asleep. RIP. Awaiting the Lords return. We don't immediately drift up to heaven to "walk with angels." We are asleep, in the eyes of God, awaiting to be resurrected to join the righteous. The unrighteous will stay dead until our 1,000 year reign in heaven...
Yeah me neither! I just thought that the guy was being flirtatious as a jerk like, "Oh is this fine woman any of yours?" But I didn't even think about that context given that she's Ethiopian!
I Truly love this channel. I just watched 4,5 and 6. I LOVE The Chosen but the death of Ramah is going to linger in such a negative manner. I am waiting to see the reaction on Thomas and even Kafni to find out Jesus can raise the dead and did not raise her. It’s kind of a shame that a sub plot that is fictional is in some ways is drowning out or competing with the amazing voice of Jesus and the gospel. That being said I do love The Chosen.
Its gonna be Attic us saying truly this was the Son if God. If I see Suing us in the crucifixion, I'm sure its him wreaking revenge on Jesus, overseeing the beatings pi r something because he must be salty
So your rationale is that Jesus was crucified on a Friday and that makes the year 30 or 33 AD? I'm just a regular Christian but I have always found that Good Friday just doesn't work. "Three days and three nights" was what Jesus said and as an engineer, I don't like the gymnastics it takes to get that from Friday to Sunday. Even with the Jewish sunset rules.
It has been demonstrated both inside Scripture (Old and New Testament) and in Jewish culture at that time period that the phrase "three days and three nights" simply refers to a three-day time period -- that is, three consecutive days, not three full 24-hour time periods. It was a colloquial/idiomatic phrase.
@@NowLetsBeHonestSo your comment sent me down a rabbit hole of research, and I am now convinced that The Chosen's "mistake" was actually right...Jesus did die in AD 31, because Passover fell on a Tuesday evening! Jesus was crucified Wednesday morning and was dead by late afternoon, buried by nightfall. The Wednesday evening and Thursday morning afterwards was the prescribed annual Sabbath that always followed Passover, followed by the Thursday evening and Friday morning during which the women prepared the spices for Jesus' body. Friday evening was the start of the weekly Sabbath which lasted through Saturday morning, and as soon as Saturday evening was over, Mary headed out to the tomb early Sunday morning. 😊 That's logical, Biblical, and most importantly, a full 72 hours!
@@kentslocum But Jesus rose on the third day, and the men say that the first day of the week WAS the third day since the Cross. A Friday crucifixion makes more sense.
@@jamesajiduah2001 Good point. I looked into it a bit further, and it appears that Passover in AD 30 occurred from Wednesday sundown to Thursday sundown, which would equate to Jesus being buried from Thursday sundown until Sunday morning. That is approximately three nights and two days, which seems within acceptable tolerances. However, others have pointed out that AD 31 is still entirely reasonable, since alternate astronomical calculations (since Passover must occur on a full moon) show Wednesday to be the correct day of Passover in AD 31, as well. Still others have run calculations based on the number of years it took to construct the temple and pinpointed 28 AD as the correct year. My point is, it makes no sense for Jesus to be crucified on Friday and rise on Sunday. We can all agree that he rose on Sunday morning, but that means Passover must have occurred on Wednesday or Thursday (depending on whether we are using the Jewish day or modern day) for Sunday to have been the third day since Jesus' burial.
Jesus has already announced to everyone that he can raise the dead last season so So I am confused a bit I know they didn’t really elaborate on it back in season three or maybe it was even season two I don’t remember, but John the Baptist sent two of his followers to ask Jesus are you actually the Messiah or should we look for someone else? Jesus gives them many examples of things that they can bring back to John, but the very last one is ……..“ and add to that the dead are raised as well”
@@NowLetsBeHonest and it’s not like everyone would not have heard it. Even Simon Z and the zealots trying to kill him we’re listening to his sermon from way away in the actual tent, city area itself. So we can’t say that the other other apostles that were all gathered around didn’t hear it. So I guess that’s my confusion is all of these new episodes of season four episodes are sort of acting like the original apostles that were there for the little girls delivery from death that they have to be hush-hush about it. But to me, this was an announcement to basically everybody that he could bring people back from the death. He’s certainly not ever going to lie, so why wouldn’t everyone know? I wonder if Dallas regrets putting that into season three. Because frankly, all of these season 4 episodes really play out like that scene never happened. Actually, I even think in the later episodes of season three… it is brought up where I think Matthew says something to them that he doesn’t know what happened and they won’t tell him what happened in the house with jirus’s daughter.
@cami478 I assumed Jesus stating prior that He could raise the dead went over the heads of those listening - such as in S4, Ep 4-6 as Jesus talks about being killed and being raised in 3 days. The disciples didn't get it. They're just confused, whereas we have the benefit of hindsight, the written New Testament and centuries of believers studying his words. So, to me, there's no conflict between what Jesus already said and what the disciples are understanding. And no conflict in how The Chosen portrays it. That's pretty much what the gospels show us - the disciples needed to see the resurrected Jesus, plus have the understanding in their hearts and minds that the Holy Spirit brings, before they got it. When they did get it, their lives were transformed.
@vickydean3246 Yes, you were probably right it just seems so weird that nobody took him at his words during the sermon, and when he gave the instructions to the two followers of John the Baptist. Yes, it seems like they were continuing on with the episodes of season 3 with Matthew even commenting, that he still doesn’t know what happened in that house. that the other disciples that were in the house of Jirus won’t fill him in on the details. I don’t know it just seems so strange that he literally said the words that he has risen the dead, and that it was not brought up again after that by anybody really. it seems like a pretty monumental statement to me :). It doesn’t matter I keep watching seasons, 1-3 over and over and I think I’m going on the 7th or 8th time. I think I will go back and watch the roundtable discussion of that episode because I can’t remember specifically the details about it. I have really enjoyed the round table discussions.!
54:18 I think that in The Chosen Jesus will not die on a Friday, but on a Wednesday. I'm sure Dallas will want to show three full days between Jesus' death and resurrection, to explore the disciples' feelings in the meantime.
with regards to mistakes i already know that the chosen is not at all perfect after seeing a mistake at season 1 wedding episode and after that i disregard all other future mistakes crucifying that OCD part of me.
Amen. I love what you said about crucifying that OCD part of you👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 some people find joy in pointing out mistakes of others... I never thought it could be a mental disorder to this as well. GOD Bless You.
@@NowLetsBeHonest The first time they did it they let Eden suffer a miscarriage. I let that go. The second time they had Little James ask for healing and this Jesus didn't just say NO, he thought it would be fun watching James heal others of the same malady he suffered. Now Ramah. No, she was not Biblical but she was a disciple in their narrative. In John 18:8-9 Jesus answered, “...that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.” John 18:9 Here they have this Jesus losing a disciple. Yahusha healed all who came to Him but the Chosen has decided that this Jesus will refuse the ones closest to him. My God is faithful- it does not matter to me how unfaithful most of the church believes that He is. The Bible tells us that those who believe will heal others (Mark 16:17-18) He says to turn away from those who have a form of godliness but deny the power. II Timothy 3:5. We are turning away.
@@jannaswanson271 The disciples Jesus spoke of in John 18 were the 11 Apostles, not every single one. And Jesus's closest going through pain fits with what we know from Paul, Timothy and Trophimus dealing with illnesses and trials.

Sorry I always miss the live stream but am avoiding spoilers which is driving me crazy
No problem, we totally understand! Hope you enjoy the episodes :)
Atticus is russel crowe!! So mysterious!! 🤣🤣🤣
I thought the same thing when Jesus was having a distressed moment just a few feet away from Zebedee and Tamar and Mary. I thought he was far away too.
And yes, I thought the same things about him being in the same place where he was with the kids (Season 1, episode 3)
Howdy from New Mexico!
That’s quite a concept that Jesus was misunderstood. Nothing new but I needed to be reminded of that right now in this season.
@NowLetsBeHonest I am thinking that Atticus will be the man (centurion) at the foot of the cross who says, "Surely this was The Son of God". The way he is always following Him, due to his "curiosity"..........SEEK and ye SHALL find.....
What are your thoughts on that?
Yes. I was thinking the same thing. Especially when he watched Jesus walking on water.
That idea that Judas may have been trying to force Jesus to show Himself as the Messiah/King has been a thought I have had for a while.
Judas is waiting for the army to take down the Romans
Ever eating Atticus wasn't eating big character ark
I immediately noticed that and became nervous. I was wondering what is going on?😮
I wish we had seen more of Judas as well, but maybe they didn’t want the audience too attached/sympathetic to him.
I can hear you
I have noticed that women and sometimes men alike have looked at Jesus romatically from s1 even, I think its cute 😊❤
We went to seasons four four through six It's a replay of what was already been shown why? I was expecting brand new shows
Forgive Mary for being Mary~Lazarus.
Don't know where 49:22 came from.
i am here
Episodes 4-6 were 20 minutes longer than 1-3...
Roman solders would have said caeser is Lord
Are these episodes sessions 4 going to be free on utube. Or where?can we see it for free and where.
Eventually they will release them for free on the Chosen app!
Tamar says Ramah was Murdered. I don't think she says she was martyred.
Here too
SOMEBODY SAVEEE MEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Most people miss the understanding about Lazarus being asleep. It is the same for all men, when we die, we are asleep. RIP. Awaiting the Lords return. We don't immediately drift up to heaven to "walk with angels." We are asleep, in the eyes of God, awaiting to be resurrected to join the righteous. The unrighteous will stay dead until our 1,000 year reign in heaven...
I didn’t even catch the slavery joke! O my goodness!
Yeah me neither! I just thought that the guy was being flirtatious as a jerk like, "Oh is this fine woman any of yours?" But I didn't even think about that context given that she's Ethiopian!
1:35:31... Hebrews 12 😊
John died for God Himself.
I think little James just needs an epsom salt bath and he’ll be fine.
I disagree that being treated as a doormat is a good thing, as a person its important to know your worth, coz you are precious and dont deserve abuse❤
Hey
Ouch. That Judas statement.
Its gonna be Attic us saying truly this was the Son if God. If I see Suing us in the crucifixion, I'm sure its him wreaking revenge on Jesus, overseeing the beatings pi r something because he must be salty
Got to 2atch someone at house
Wait, y’all two aren’t a couple? 😮
I'll have to do some research on this!- I am a teacher of the Word of God!!!! And an ardent forever student of the Word!!!!!
Jesus gives them many examples of things that they can bring back to John, but the very last one is ……..“ and add to that the dead are raised as well”
I forgot about that! Good catch
I found it. It was season three it was episode 6 about the 52 minute mark intensity in the tent city episode
What's the Hebrew word behind you?
Hesed! "Lovingkindness" :)
The Chosen has become more and more blasphemous. They teach that Yahusha is not faithful.
How did they teach he isn't faithful?
@@NowLetsBeHonest The first time they did it they let Eden suffer a miscarriage. I let that go.
The second time they had Little James ask for healing and this Jesus didn't just say NO, he thought it would be fun watching James heal others of the same malady he suffered.
Now Ramah. No, she was not Biblical but she was a disciple in their narrative. In John 18:8-9 Jesus answered, “...that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.” John 18:9
Here they have this Jesus losing a disciple.
@@jamesajiduah2001 You are arguing that Yahusha is not faithful. That He would just stand and watch while one one of His followers died. Wow.
