Hello sir, I seem to understand this topic well. But I still have some confusions, like: He can't be doing this./ He can't do this. It's not a good thing to be doing/ to do. I am ready to be doing something./ to do something. How are they different? I hear native speakers use both in different situations but can't figure out the reason. Thanks 😊
When you say "He can't do this," you mean he's unable to do it, he doesn't know how to do it. When you say "he can't be doing this," you probably see the person doing it and you don't believe it. When you say "It's not a good thing to do," you're giving advice, telling a person not to do something. When you say "it's not a good thing to be doing" you're probably criticizing someone who's doing something that you don't like. I hope I helped. Try to find more examples in grammar books.

+Adam Simpson Thanks for your comment, Adam. The idea of this video is to show examples of the Present Continuous in real contexts, like these TV shows. The idea is not to work on reading or listening, but just to call students' attention to the language being used. On my channel I have lots of videos. Some of them have subtitles and some don't. You can choose the ones you like. Many times, just by reading the subtitles and saying the lines along with the actors students improve their pronunciation, intonation and rhythm. This will give them confidence when speaking English. Take care,
+learnwithvideos I agree with Adam. As a learning channel, there should be no subtitles but a transcript available (in the video description perhaps) or the option of having subtitles or not.
+Adam Simpson Well... I don't see how subtitles prevent learners from producing and repeating the dialogs. But laziness does. Subtitles are of great help for beginners.
+Alin Lyrviss Well, let me start by pointing out that it didn't actually say that it does, you inferred that. Also, I do teach beginners and we don't usually just toss them a video with subtitles. RUclips does offer it as a feature that can be used as a closed-caption option. So, this video can't be used without the subtitles, which was the point. So, as I said, the headline should be changed to accurately reflect the way the video is intended to be used.
