Makes me wish Trip hugged T'Pol too when Reed returned from the sphere and told her Archer didn't make it and then hugged Hoshi. I guess he figured T'Pol wouldn't have wanted to be hugged in front of her crew, but her sadness was so obvious, I felt like crying for her. When he returns in 'Storm Front', you see her eyes go so round in wonder like she did here! I say Archer know how to tame this former aloof Vulcan to one who cared about others, even Porthos who she petted (I wonder if petting him brought on oxytocin in both canine and Vulcan).
After years of watching reruns of Enterprise, I've come to the conclusion that it was a sadly underappreciated series. Ironically, that's exactly what happened with TOS. It took decades in reruns for all of us to realize what we had.
When the music started and Archer turned to hug T'pol, I teared up. And when the Enterprises flew by with the famous words, I was just so sad that this underrated series had ended.
@@jackman6256 voyager got it's full 7 year contract fulfilled and to be honest it didn't deserve that full run given how badly they were doing the final 3 years. The cast of Voyager was at also at each other's throats for much of it's production, etc., which is why the show seems so dull from an acting perspective for much of it's run. Seven of Nine and Tuvok ultimately saved the show from premature cancellation with spectacular performances. Roxanne Dawson (B' Elanna Torres), Jennifer Lien (Kes), Garrett Wang (Harry Kim), Robert Picardo (the Doctor) feuded constantly with each other and Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway) who was struggling with alcoholism throughout much of the shows run was intensely jealous of Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) which lead to open heated arguments on set between the two which really dragged down production and the rest of the cast. Jeri Ryan even stated in an interview that Kate Mulgrew was "extremely difficult to work with" and most people never knew that until years later. Enterprise never had those kinds of issues between it's cast members although Berman and Braga had a lot of difficulty with Jolene Blalock. She got along a lot better with Manny Coto in season 4. Enterprise got the hose big time, but a good deal of that fell on the network after the regime change in season 2. The new execs that came in were totally clueless about Star Trek and Berman and Braga were flat out of ideas by then. That said, Manny Coto really tried to save the show and the proof is in the ratings for season 4 which surpassed even the best years of Voyager. he tried to convince the network to re-up the show for season 5 by writing a whole bunch of preliminary episode outlines and they THOUGHT they were about to get renewed, but at the last second during the Mirror Darkly arc the network announced cancellation of seasons 5, 6, and 7. It's a travesty. ENT was far superior to Voyager by the end of it's run and they were JUST ABOUT TO get into the material fans had been begging for years (Earth Romulan War, how the Vulcan Romulan Schism happened thousands of years before, etc.). They were also about to reveal that T'Pol was in fact half Romulan and that her father was a Romulan spy who had disappeared which explained her propensity to be emotional (for a Vulcan) and the relationship of Trip & T'Pol would have continued on and their child of their would have lived. Much would have happened differently if seasons 5, 6, & 7 been greenlighted. The fans truly got robbed. The cast had much better chemistry together than previous series. And in Manny Coto they had finally found a good writer and producer that understood Star Trek and was not burnt out like Berman and Braga were who had helmed the franchise up until the mid point of season 3. It's really a shame the show got cancelled when it did.
@@tomaszwitkowski9507 It was the worst final episode because the studio canned it out of nowhere. They had two Star Treks running at the same time and the Studio lost interest in Enterprise but wanted to keep Voyager. I personally enjoyed Enterprise more, as it gave a good back story on the time before Kirk, and what it took to get the Federation created.
I agree with you, yes there are ups and downs, like all star-trek series, but I think the idea for the ending is not so bad if it wasn't hurried, and the end where Cap. Picard speech with all enterprises ships gives me goosebump
Well, I too think this finale could've been handled better so it wasn't set during TNG and didn't have the ENT crew appear only as holograms. And while I love Riker and Troi's relationship, feels like they're stealing most of the spotlight in this ENT finale. But I do love that moment where Archer hugs T'Pol. Shows how far their relationship has evolved since the first episode. And it's a brief moment without Riker or Troi.
My head canon ending: Archer looks at the crowd with a confused look. He starts patting himself down getting more frantic by the second. He stops, looks into the camera and says "Oh boy."
Al appears up next to him and says: "Nice Suit, Sam.. oh boy indeed... your Captain Jonathan Archer, future Admiral of Starfleet and later President of the United Federation of Planets.. you got a problem as I have no idea what your doing here in that body.."
I'am sad and proud when I see this scene thank you to the entire staff of Star Trek Enterprise for this beautiful journey (Producers, Directors, Actors, Actresses). As a french Trekkie you are all in my heart.
@leovalverde1508 And as fir the SNW/STD era... well, we don't talk about that here, along with Tuvix, Threshold, Spock's Brain and Move Along Home. And the first season of TNG.
@@TommygunNG instead we get TNG once again sticking the most useless character, and Riker, into it once again. Bad enough Riker and Troi helped the first warp test, then they ruin the finale with it being all a hologram, ending it with shit eating grins and "computer :D end program!" Fuck off finale.
If this was a true love letter to Star Trek, it should have included Sisko and Janeway. Final shot could have been NX-01 headed to meet Enterprise 1701, Enterprise D, and Voyager already docked at DS9.
What's so epic about an episode that practically invalidates all the episodes that went before by suggesting everything was just a holo-simulation? "These are the voyages..." is, by far, the worst episode of the entire series. Even the showrunners themselves have admitted as much.
@@damouze It seems you didn´t understand anything. It does invalidate nothing. Riker and Troi are just using a recreation of the Enterprise NX-01 during its last mission and we see both them interacting with the holographic crew but also watching that final mission in flashbacks. And why would that invalidate all the previous episodes? hahahah The showrunners admitted that because haters fans wanted. "These are the voyages..." is by far one of the best episodes of the series.
@@anothergalaxys4780 I think it is you, who doesn't understand what happened here. I remember watching this episode and the two-parter preceding it and discussing them with college mates and we were appalled about the final episode to say the least. Before "These are the voyages" came two very strong episodes that, at least to me and everyone I have had conversations with about Enterprise that these were probably the two best episodes of the entire series. It had everything a two-parter should have: a good story, drama, good acting and most of all a good ending. Then comes the series "finale": weak plot, not a lot of acting and worst of all: the entire story seems to take place inside the holo-deck of the Enterprise D. To us, that invalidated the entire premise of Enterprise the series as a whole. Why? Because of the way the episode was framed. The series was book-ended, basically, by a TNG episode.
They canned Enterprise right when the show had found its feet and had started to run! It was also a disgraceful move by the producers to throw in the TNG twist.....it completely took the spotlight away from Enterprise with that bullshit with Riker and Troi, no wonder the actors of Enterprise were angry with the finale, they had every right to be! Their own rightful ending overshadowed by some TNG bollocks. Two fingers to you Rick Berman!
Try to understand that its not their fault. Not even Rick Berman or the writers. This was the fault of those who not only complained so much about the series but also the fact that ultimately it was Paramount's decision to do the unthinkable just because they believed the show was going go rock bottom by the end of the year and didn't want to risk losing money. What made things worse was moving the show to a timeslot where people barely watched tv at the time. How can anyone watch the show if you air the show at a certain hour where no one is watching? The writers had a very short time to write up a final episode, and when you're given a short amount of time to do something, you're only going to get a poorly written episode. It may not have been a good episode but this final scene with all three Enterprise ships, is a wonderful touch that brought a tear to my eye. No one in the production liked what they had to do but it had to be done. It was either something or nothing. In this case I would prefer something than nothing.
@@ransom182 Oh fuck, I'd take Rick Berman back in a heart beat, over the shitty writing crew for the newer stuff. He tried to send Enterprise off the best he could, with what he had.
You're right. "Enterprise" should've stood on its own. I liked the parts w/o The "NG" bits. If they had done so, they could've shown that Archer gave T'Pol a note Trip wrote her, telling her to meet him during the speech. He takes his death so he could infiltrate the Romulans and that involved posing as a Romulan. The story about Shran's daughter being kidnapped was ok and I liked the shuttle pod scene leading up to it. That was Trip's way of assuring he would still keep in touch despite her worry and that she had missed him. I read "The Good That Men Do" and I liked it-except that another holo-programme story was added again, this time by "DS9". That's why we fans didn't like the last episode of season 4. Write Kuurtzman and ask him to re-do that last story and continue the series. If it follows the 4 books (and possibly "The Rise of the Federation" books as well), maybe "Enterprise" could last longer. Maybe, they could put it on CBS All Access. I don't get network tv so well and 2 other "Star Trek" programmes are on it now.
In my opinion, Enterprise was an underrated show. They were in a ship that was outgunned and could be outrun by practically everyone they met, didn't have technology come riding to the rescue in too many stories (TNG writers seemed to have a habit of writing the cast into a corner and then channel energy through the deflector dish or reprogram the transporters to save the day), and you had an overall feeling that the characters were true explorers. I wish they had had a few more seasons for this show.
This crew and humanity was so oblivious to how galaxy work. There were so eager just to get out there they didn't even have proper shielding or phasers. They were defending themselves with missiles. Vulvans were right humanity just wasn't ready😂😂
I just finished watching Enterprise, for the first time, on the same day GOT ended. I feel really sad ENT ended. Much more than I am about GOT. I love star trek. But in Enterprise I found something that is more possible then the rest. Humans will probably rush off earth on the first MVP vessel they will come up with and learn through mistakes and failures what it means to explore the unknown. Thank you Enterprise for showing us a glimps into a possible future. You should have been valued more.
Another kindred spirit. I would love to be one of those people to go out and explore like the Enterprise did. But, alas, I was born too late to explore our planet, and too early to enjoy sailing the stars for others.
Just finished rewatching Enterprise, say what you will about the finale, but the final scene with the three Enterprise's and voiceovers made me tear up, especially Archers "To boldly go, where no man has gone before". With Archers theme in the background.
So you have seen that too? I wondered if it was a CGI that they placed in for that moment. It wasn't a normal move, not even for a Vulcan, still no one except you, I've noted, seems to had noticed this.
Great show... Ended to early.... Miss Jolene Blalock....the smartest and most beautiful of all the women that was on any Star Trek show.....loved her character on this show.....💚" A perfect green blooded woman"💚
This was a good series, I enjoy for what it is but my friend has the perfect ending for this. After Cpt. Archer finishes his speech, his body glows and he’s transported to a different time *** Que the Quantum Leap theme song ***
It has only been fifteen years since this show went off the air. There is still time to do a few movies with the same cast if Paramount decided to do so. Several story lines remain open and Trip can easily be brought back, there was no reason to end the series they way Paramount did. Time to begin the letter writing campaign my friends.
Damn, I don't get why everyone is so salty about this. That it is a holodeck recreation isn't saying it didn't happen. In fact, it's so important to the Federation, it's looked at as sacred history 200 years later.
I think you are right on it working as a final. It does seem like a nice idea because it shows how legendary and important the story of the founding of the federation was. It shows Enterprise had a great story to tell. So much so its looked back on many years later. Personally I like this idea. As you said, it still happened. However, I think what many people are angry about is the idea that Enterprise was in some way being overshadowed or lifted up by TNG. People view that as disrespectful. To take the spotlight off Enterprise or give it unessesary/unwanted help and validation. Patronizing I suppose. I am honestly not sure if that intent was there or not. I haven't looked into it. If not, I see no problem with this ending. If so, it would at least leave a bad tast in my mouth. I would still like the Idea I guess but I wouldn't like why they went with it.
I think I could've lived with the whole "holodeck program" bit if they had just done it better. For instance, Riker & Troi are still on the Enterprise-D, despite both of them looking much older than then they did on that ship. Riker's "dilemma" that brought him to the holodeck is the upcoming inquiry into the USS Pegasus incident (as depicted in TNGs07e12). Instead, they should have made the holodeck on Enterprise-E, with Ricker trying to decide if he wants to take the USS Titan captain's chair or not. This would put events squarely between the movies "Star Trek: Insurrection" and "Star Trek: Nemesis", because it was during that time period that Riker went from "Meh." about it to "Yes, I'll accept command of the USS Titan." In fact, we should have gotten a new show called "STAR TREK: TITAN" that focused primarily of Riker getting his ship & crew in order.
For ONCE I agree! Someone should write a series of novels based on Riker’s time on the Titan. I kind of forsee Riker eventually giving up the command because Riker in “Picard” is retired and wants to remain a civilian.
Like Admiral Leonard McCoy said to Lieutenant Commander Data on the very first episode of Star Trek the Next Generation this is a fine ship with a fine name You Treat Her Like a Lady and she will always bring you home
Just finished watching this, what a great show. The last before the outbreak of this unknown brain disease that heavily affected the so-called TV writers and led to space action shows for children labelled as Star Trek to attract viewers and money.
Er, I hate when people say it because it's cringe af but I think it's fitting nevertheless here-- "stay mad". Prodigy is right below Enterprise for me (in order, top Trek series for me are DS9, TNG, Enterprise and Prodigy), and Lower Decks is great too. I quite like Discovery, both season 1 and later on when they go to the 32nd century. The only Trek series I feel are SUPER dumbed down are Picard seasons 2 & 3, and Strange New Worlds (season 1 most of all). Those are the only series/seasons that rarely get praise from me. But even in those foul turds, there's still the potential for great episodes-- as seen in Picard season 3's "Imposters" and Strange New Worlds season 2's "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow". But for the most part, those are flukes. Rare highlights, and the exception rather than the rule.
As far as I am concerned, as of 2019, this is the end of the Gene Roddenberry Star Trek story line. All the other 'Star Trek' movies and TV shows (so far) are just 'other' things to me.
McRocket - I had reservations of Discovery. Until Jonathan Frakes directed 3 of it's episodes. Up until the first of them! I was leery too. Of course - it wasn't helped by the newer films and the Anaxar Incident ( great pity - because if integrated with Discovery - the Anaxar portion would have worked well! ) The point in being - Discovery has begun to put the legend back on line. Thankfully due to Jonathan Frakes! Give it the opportunity to grow on you a bit more. I hope to obtain a DVD copy of Discovery's 3rd Season. What I have seen has convinced me to hold off from full critique, at least - for now.
I hated JJ's reboot at first (and still don't like the first movie - destroying vulcan was a bizarre and disgusting choice) and can only enjoy them now because I think of them like fan fiction in mirror Mirror Mirror universe storylines. I appreciated what Vic Montaigne and those folks tried to do with Star Trek Continues more than any of the post Enterprise Paramount/CBS productions.
They ruined enterprise for me. I was really excited to watch the last episode! I saw Commander Riker and I wanted to throw my TV out the window. I was so annoyed! And then Riker was like let's go check out the last mission of the Enterprise NX-01. No let's not, let's get the fuck off my screen and let me watch ENT, not TNG, already watched them! The final scene was good though. Space, The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. A continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilisations... To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before!
A lot of people say that this episode made the entire series either a riker and troi told story, or that the entire series was nothing more than a holo-novel. Well if that were the case, then you mean to tell me that when Riker was conflicted about telling Picard about Pressman's phasic cloak he went and spent 10 years in the holodeck reviewing Archer and crew's records and mission recordings from start to finish to give himself context as to rather or not he should talk to Picard about Pressman? I think that what they went for with this series finale was something that they had been planning on doing all along since they established the tradition of one series giving the next one a send off. Like how DS9 began with Picard giving Sisko the reigns of a space station. Then Voyager began with a stop over at DS9. Now i may not agree with the choice of series linkage given that in order for a full circle effect to have occured they should of had an interaction with the crew of TOS and ENT. But then again, Frakes and Sirtis were probably the easiest to get to look the way they did in the 90's as opposed to making anyone from TOS look the way they did in the 60's. So that said, it kinda makes sense to me that they would do a end of the series link up this way, since they could not really use Voyager to give Enterprise a send off at the start.
@@DarkHypernova Read the memory Beta, though you can disagree and say it's not canon cuz it didn't happen on screen and only in the books. memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/Charles_Tucker_III
Instead of giving us the actual speech at the forming of the Federation we get a tiny shot of one of the seating areas, on a holodeck. It's like a blueprint for how to mess something up so incredibly badly.
I disagree. Turning a coverall into the dress uniform just looks wrong to me. Coveralls make sense as a utility uniform for space stations and spacecraft -- at least our kind in the real world, with no artificial gravity, which is why actual astronauts in the real world wear them. For a dress uniform to wear planetside... No, not really. You have to get completely undressed every time you need to use the throne. I think it also makes the uniform look more like a kid's onesie. Better a separate tunic and trousers. There's a reason the TOS movie uniforms are almost universally regarded as the best looking ones the franchise ever had.
@@concious2 It would look alright divided into tunic and trousers. Though in truth, I doubt the space force is going to get its own uniforms for a very, very long time. For now, it's not going to be an organization that sends astronauts into space; it's going to be concerned with protection and development of orbital assets -- spy and communication satellites, etc. It's personnel will be relatively few in number, and all stationed on the ground. For this reason, they've already unveiled the utility unform: it's the same camo uniform the army and air force already use, with space force patches on it. They got much derision for that on social media ("what do you need camo for in space?" and other similar sneers), by people who really don't get at all what their mission is going to be. As I said, no one from the space force is going into space for a long time, and it's a small outfit for now, so they're just being issued the same utility uniform some of the branches are already using, because it makes NO sense to spend millions to develop something from scratch at this point. Better to use stuff that's already in the military supply chain. As for dress uniforms... I haven't even seen any official concepts yet, and I rather doubt there is one. My guess is they'll start out wearing a variant of what the air force does.
such an easy write around to, pan from Troi and Riker DOWN to the Ent crew clapping, to Archer "Space....the FINAL Frontier......" music playing orchestrial, see Sato, Reed, the Mako's, Flox........ "the ties that bind each of us, be they Human or Vulcan, Andorian, Telerite. Klingon. We all have one mission, one singular goal....." Cut to the star ship in space. "To seek out new life and new civilizations. To Boldly go....where no man has gone .... before."
I'm less disappointed that this was the finale than I am that we never got to hear Archer's speech. If you're going to spend so much time building up to it, you should at least show it, rather than making it some unspoken thing. I thought the same thing when Ensign Ro didn't get to hear Riker's eulogy.
"To boldly go where no man has gone before." That's what Kirk said in the intro for Star Trek TOS. By the time The Next Generation premiered in 1987, they changed it to "no one" since it was more politically correct. But here, Archer says "no man". Not that it bothers me. It doesn't. I guess in a way, it makes sense since Enterprise takes place before TOS.
I feel Star Trek is the greatest fictional expression of the United States. With all the fault of us Americans, we always find a way to take the next step in human progress.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭ame el personaje de T'pol creo quedó sola pero lo más duro fue el sentimiento que provocó en mi el saber que nadie la recibiría en vulcan 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
To this day I'm still mad that enterprise got cancelled but I suppose I should be grateful considering how it got one season more than TOS did, but even with that said I still would've preferred ENT to have gotten at least 2 or 3 more seasons
How would you feel if you spent years building something (ENT characters), then some other builder (TNG characters) came in at the end to take the spotlight off you?
Never got into "Quantum Leap", but I like Scott better in "Enterprise" and "NCIS:NO". I Loved It where he hugs T'Pol and caresses her shoulders. Reminiscent when he got her attention when times where hard for her. He knew as a Vulcan she didn't like crowds (too loud) do he didn't make her attend outside. My boyfriend hates crowds too, but he had Asperger's Syndrome.
That would have been a perfect crossover but in the Star Trek timeline, a nuclear war in the 2000’s (I think) is what set the faction in motion that produced Sigh Noonan Khan and led to the horror of the Tribunal ordering millions to die because of their radiation sickness. I think either right after the Tribunal fell was when Cochran flew the “Phoenix” which got the attention of the Vulcans and after Earth United (somewhat) Archer’s dad was the man who really got mankind back into Space. I think there was a Romulan War right about that time and Earth used a sub design for her very first warp starships which had one purpose: Destroy invading Romulans. After that war, they designed the NX and after that was obsoleted they designed a pre-NCC 1700 ship whose forward portion was a globe rather than a saucer. I think a lot of that had to do with issues they were having with the warp engine designs at the time as they tried to increase it’s speed.
I've just started watching this show on Netflix and I have to say I am quite surprised at the quality of acting, story lines and even dialog is heads and above of any of that "space" drivel they are showing on Netflix. I literally turned off Another Life in mid scene out of absolute disgust and the ridiculousness of everything happening. I had no idea who these people were, what organization they belonged to or what the hell they were even trying to do. And the dialog was like it was written by a angry teenager. I have been a big Star Trek fan since they showed the original series in syndication on my local TV station in the 70's. I was a huge fan of The Next generation too. However, things started to go south for me when Deep Space 9 came on. I never really got behind the premise and the stories were not very compelling. There was a rumor at the time that the whole concept was just a panic move to compete with Babylon 5 and was a poorly conceived concept from the start. I never warmed up to the show. i did however like Voyager. Nothing like a good star ship centered show with an ensemble cast. Although the idea of the Marquis was poorly conceived and pretty quickly dropped as a plot point for stories, the show really hit it's stride with the introduction of the character of 7 of 9. Although this has been criticized as a ratings grab by introducing eye candy, there is something to be said about the empowerment of the female mystique through portrayals that emphasize physical beauty. She redefines sexuality by displaying it unabashedly and with innocence while at the same time remaining completely separate from it by taking no active part in it. She does not acknowledge it and we are expected to do the same. It is a lesson in how to respond with respect to that which we find arousing. I enjoyed the show but unfortunately my life led me away from TV watching for a time and I missed the last two seasons. By the time Enterprise came on the air I completely dismissed it. I had frankly become weary of Rick Berman and his apparent milking of the franchise and this latest offering seemed cheesy. Scott Backula seemed like a wrong choice for a Capt. and I really thought they were taking way to much licence and presuming they could write Star Trek cannon like that. I hated the look of the ship and the uniforms were an obvious attempt to draw a link to the Next Generation without any consideration for TOS style uniforms. That pissed me off. Respect the original. Always! Things I did like. Cmdr Trip. He's awesome and he certainly reminds me of our long forgotten crewman, Lt. Kelso from "Where No Man has Gone Before" and makes a nice physical representation of what I imagine the early days of StarFleet were like. Jolene Blalock is a very talented actress. This is not often the case in women with such physical attributes that you see on TV but twice now Star Trek has cast actresses who are both physically beautiful and compelling actresses. Not to say that beautiful women are not talented actresses it just they are not usually cast that way, especially on TV. The point I want to make about all this is that I am now discovering a quality Science fiction TV show that I missed but even after , what, 18 years now, a show that old is leaps and bounds above what they are producing out there now. Im watching an episode and they're actually using real science to solve a fucking problem!! That drivel on Netflix is just teenagers yelling at each other while the stories make no logical sense. Thanks if you read this. I need to so a podcast. sheeze.
The first time I saw the Enterprise series it was being aired on TV. It was a time where we had yet to go digital, and most of the time my family and I on some days could barely make out anything through the static. But what little I remember was a time of joy and curiosity every night we sat down to watch it. I will have to re-watch it soon, as I too am looking for some quality Sci-fi shows. Thank you for showing us your opinion.
One of the better scenes of that horrendously bad end to enterprise that was season four finale. Very nice end of the journey and walking towards the future they helped to build.
Sometimes, especially now, I feel outside of time. I read comments like, "It was under appreciated." Nope. I appreciated it very much and recorded every epoisode on my VCR.
I've always enjoyed Enterprise but the finale was the worst episode ever. The producers of the series bastardized the episode by transforming it into a TNG episode instead of using it to tell viewers how the Federation of United Planets came to be formed. It remains to me, the worst episode in the series of the franchise and they turned it into a TNG Holodeck episode being told by Commander Riker. Piece of shit episode.
@@mountainfolks If I recall correctly, the series was already in danger of being canceled during season three. It was the studio who agreed to lower the production budget to well under one million that convinced UPN to renew it. I also think that the case also agreed to salary cuts to keep the show on the air. But, I don't think it was due to the salaries but rather there was an over-saturation of Star Trek on network television. There was just too much of it. When TNG debuted, it was like they always felt like they had to produce a new Star Trek series just as the current one was ending. Plus, there just wasn't fan support for Enterprise. I think most fans cited the song for Enterprise as one of their biggest hates and then many fans didn't like the season-long Xindi arc that ran throughout the third season. I think if the studio had decided to go with 12-13 episode seasons, it might have had a chance of surviving. It was the first two seasons that I enjoyed the best.
@@entertainment-knone9344 Bullshit it was greed. The show was cheap to make. Special effects were like they are now, cheap. Stop the bullshit and lies. I agree with the TNG part, if they had Riker and Troi helping their son understand the founding of the Federation I think it would have been better and allowed series to be itself and still have that link between the Past and the Future.
Criminally underrated show, I could have used another 4seasons of this show. It was made in the spirit of what Roddenberry always had in mind. It believed in the innate nobility of man and his quest to move ever forward. In my book everything that has been made since Enterprise has been a garbage fire and all but killed Star Trek for me. @@ParagonRex You're free to your opinion as am I; that Discovery is by far the most consistently good and watchable of the modern live action Treks. I liked Picard season 1 well enough but 2 and 3-- with the exception of the Ro Laren episode-- were TERRIBLE. And Strange New Worlds season 1 was terrible too, but at least season 2 was slightly better than 1, though that's not saying much. Lower Decks and Prodigy especially are unquestionably the best of the new Treks. Prodigy is legitimately my 4th favorite Trek series (DS9, TNG, Enterprise, Prodigy)
@@Atari-Dude I agree....you are entitled to your opinion. Nevertheless, the numbers and the facts show us how dismal a failure Nu-trek has been. I feel sadly that Star Trek has been contaminated by current fashion. It was originally created as a utopian ideal of the future. Unfortunately the fashion now leans towards a more dystopian science fiction and its taken Star Trek with it. Hell they don't even turn the lights on aboard ship anymore.

When he returns in 'Storm Front', you see her eyes go so round in wonder like she did here! I say Archer know how to tame this former aloof Vulcan to one who cared about others, even Porthos who she petted (I wonder if petting him brought on oxytocin in both canine and Vulcan).
Absolutely.
Archer hugging T’Pol was probably one of the best or the best scene(s) in the finale and I really wished we could’ve heard his speech
Me too.
"Four score and seven planets ago..."
Honestly, imo, his speech in Terra Prime was the speech that started the UFP and he said it after hugging T'pol here.
I agree.

After years of watching reruns of Enterprise, I've come to the conclusion that it was a sadly underappreciated series. Ironically, that's exactly what happened with TOS. It took decades in reruns for all of us to realize what we had.

That scene give me so much goosebumps

In my opinion, ST Enterprise was the most humble, most intelligent and the most sophisticated Star Trek serial ever. Period.
And with worst final episode ever.
Boring don't equal intelligent and sophisticated
@@tomaszwitkowski9507 It was the worst final episode because the studio canned it out of nowhere. They had two Star Treks running at the same time and the Studio lost interest in Enterprise but wanted to keep Voyager.

Al appears up next to him and says: "Nice Suit, Sam.. oh boy indeed... your Captain Jonathan Archer, future Admiral of Starfleet and later President of the United Federation of Planets.. you got a problem as I have no idea what your doing here in that body.."

No matter how many times I hear it, the last speech always gets to me.
Archer didn't even get to start his speech. For a Canned-Final, I would have liked a speech, something to get all the feelings out in the open.
We already had plenty for the road, lets take from Archer.
His speech from the end of the Terra Prime episode was good enough
Nothing he could have said would have satisfied every fan. This way, we can all imagine our own, perfect speech.

I really wanted to hear Captain Archer's speech. Sad they didn't bother to make it a part of this EPIC episode
Me too.
I think it could never live up, and that's what they decided was that it was almost otherworldly
To be fair, Johnathon Frakes disavowed it too. Its not their fault. The writers are at fault for this. With that said...
I don't mind it too much.
You can call Rick Berman names and shit all over him but at least he admitted he made a mistake.
Yeah. Hell, they had such great ideas for Season 5; the BBC even wanted to make a Dr. Who crossover with them.
Not into "GOT" or "Handsmaiden's Tale". I would rather watch "Enterprise" ( seasons 1-4)3x.

It has only been fifteen years since this show went off the air. There is still time to do a few movies with the same cast if Paramount decided to do so. Several story lines remain open and Trip can easily be brought back, there was no reason to end the series they way Paramount did. Time to begin the letter writing campaign my friends.
Every time I see this ending, I cry.
Damm i miss this show...
This would put events squarely between the movies "Star Trek: Insurrection" and "Star Trek: Nemesis", because it was during that time period that Riker went from "Meh." about it to "Yes, I'll accept command of the USS Titan."
In fact, we should have gotten a new show called "STAR TREK: TITAN" that focused primarily of Riker getting his ship & crew in order.
For ONCE I agree! Someone should write a series of novels based on Riker’s time on the Titan. I kind of forsee Riker eventually giving up the command because Riker in “Picard” is retired and wants to remain a civilian.
so sad this series got cut short, I watched it week in and week out. It had soooooo much more potential than the little the few seasons showed.

"Four score and seven planets ago..."
I agree that Disco is cr*p and Picard isn't much better, but they are most definitely not for children!
This is a great scene. Simple
The final part with all the Captains always get me in the feels
McRocket agreed sir
I hated JJ's reboot at first (and still don't like the first movie - destroying vulcan was a bizarre and disgusting choice) and can only enjoy them now because I think of them like fan fiction in mirror Mirror Mirror universe storylines.
Why did they kill off trip I loved him xx

Instead of giving us the actual speech at the forming of the Federation we get a tiny shot of one of the seating areas, on a holodeck. It's like a blueprint for how to mess something up so incredibly badly.
Great looking uniform! Hope the new Spaceforce branch of the service has something as cool looking!
@@Hibernicus1968 Point taken but it could be made into a top bottom but still keep the look!

"To boldly go where no man has gone before." That's what Kirk said in the intro for Star Trek TOS. By the time The Next Generation premiered in 1987, they changed it to "no one" since it was more politically correct. But here, Archer says "no man". Not that it bothers me. It doesn't.
Amazing final episode. Haters won´t ever understand.
Daniels and younger Archer are standing on the upper viewing platform.
How would you feel if you spent years building something (ENT characters), then some other builder (TNG characters) came in at the end to take the spotlight off you?
just look at the Ent cast when the camera pans up to TNG cast, you can tell they are pissed.
I so wish captain archer hugged tpal....then sam beckett leaped out of him.. i would have shit i loved quantum leap
That would have made more sense than the finale of Quantum Leap.
AT 0:35 OMG!
First sentence Archer said in his speech, facing the capacity crowd: "Oh boy"
I need to so a podcast. sheeze.
@@Mademoiselle_Katie Thanks for the heads up. The only episode Ive seen is the pilot they released on RUclips. Looked pretty good.
@@Mademoiselle_Katie wow. that bad, huh?
The first time I saw the Enterprise series it was being aired on TV. It was a time where we had yet to go digital, and most of the time my family and I on some days could barely make out anything through the static.
But what little I remember was a time of joy and curiosity every night we sat down to watch it. I will have to re-watch it soon, as I too am looking for some quality Sci-fi shows.
Thank you for showing us your opinion.
And there was only a very small amount of bad language used which i was glad. thats what made the series great
The founding of the Federation..
Starfleet where they boldly into the future.
I agree. All because of greed. A few actors held the show hostage for the big $$ but they got the show canceled.
They whole reason they had to use Riker is because half the crew would not show up to do a last show unless they were paid BIG. Stop the lies. It was greed.
It was cancelled because the network wanted it stopped
I agree with the TNG part, if they had Riker and Troi helping their son understand the founding of the Federation I think it would have been better and allowed series to be itself and still have that link between the Past and the Future.
]["Fight for redemption; Keep the fire alive."][
I'll bet with some CGI work and voiceovers on Riker and Troi, this could be fixed... ;)
Fuck Discovery, fuck bad reboots and fuck Picard.
Discovery was promising but it died on the fumes of post-modernism!
@@christianfreedom-seeker2025 Yeah, it was promising up until the first teaser trailer and then the sad began. From the leaks about the how the ship was designed to the the leaks about the main charcter it just went all down hill and never recovered.
Everything since JJ's reboot has been hot garbage with the exception of Picard Season 3. One glimmer of light in 15 years? Bad track record. But you like it? More power to you.
After this.
Star Trek died.
Thanks Gene Roddenberry.
I think the final shot should have had the three Enteprises docked at DS9 with Voyager.
Rick Berman's swan song as a contributor to the Star Trek franchise.
Beginning: good
Middle: shit mostly
Ending: good
