- For those that want to truly be a Motu Origins completionist, this video is for you! I never truly realized just how many different unique variants there were in the Masters Of The Universe Origins line until a good friend to the channel Joe Andrews took me down the rabbit hole and what I found out was shocking! This is the stuff Mattel doesnt advertise when selling these figures and some of these variants are worth having simply because there better then the original release. In this video I'll go over all the variants in the line so far and show you exactly what makes them different. After seeing this, it might make you want to go that extra mile to truly have a complete Origins collection.

Wow. It's crazy that there are so many variations out there. This video is very useful not only for real collectors but also for ordinary people like me because it shows which variations of the characters I should avoid buying. For example I hate those fat knees and my white sorceress has thin knees, so I have to find other women with new knees. I don't like that Rattlor with the smooth neck, I prefer the other more detailed one. Battle Armor He-Man I have the more metallic one, but I like the other feet with the colored straps. Big mess, but at least now I know.

Excellent video! I know of one more to add to your list, don't know if you will count it but there is 2 versions of prince adam with the sky sled, one has a fat handle sword, one has a skinny handle sword. I've seen them next to each other in toys r us and it's noticeable. Thanks for the great video 👍🏻
Good call!! Adam had three different swords. Keldor from Rise of Evil had the same issue, but 2 I know of for Keldor.
You didn't mention the Trap Jaw mechanical shoulder variant where the original release only rotates but the newer releases can raise the arm to the side. That's hard to spot in package, but you can tell. Thanks for showing all the rest, I didn't know about many before.
My guess for these variations is very simple: to make enough figures in a limited time you need to have more than one mold, second you may have two different factories working on the same item. I'm an older collector, and I collet figures from the 1970's. In those days what a company like Mattel will do is give the license to different companies from different countries. They will get copies of the molds, and make the toys. Some times because of the country, toys will have different names. Case in Point: G.I Joe. In England and must of Europe he was called Action Man. In Japan was called Super Joe.
You yourself know what happened with Masters of the Universe in the 1980's, where you had variants on colors for the characters or they made new characters like "Fuerza T."

Awesome Mr. Home Arcade! But you are missing one! The first single carded version of Snake Armor He-Man has two different hair colors! Dark orange yellow or light mustard yellow!

Don't forget the different heman heads on wave 1 variants as well as different size sword handle prince Adams. And different knee evil lyns and teelas
Some guy on FB marketplace once showed me the Clamp Champ variant mint on card, said he found it in store very early in the release. He also had a Double Carded Ninjor, which was a manufacturing error. I personally only have the Battle Armor He-man with the straps variant. There's also variant of the Evil Lyn with narrow knees and maybe also Teela that you might want to get? Also I seen images of the white Sorceress carded.
Yes, definitely there were two versions of the yellow Evil-Lyn released in Origins.
There can be an encyclopedia regarding all this and MOTU toys in general. Insane!
The best video anyone’s made in a long time. I love all these variance. I tried to get me that clamp champ and ordered four clamp champs from Canada, but sadly all of them were regular.sad😢

Thanks buddy for this video, now I gotta hunt down each one lol I did get the light skin clamp champ carded from a fellow collector on Facebook and wasn't cheap but was worth it so I know he's the gem in the origins line. Card is beat up like you stated but will eventually open him for sure

Teela: bad/good knees
Evil-Lyn: bad/good knees
200X Evil-Lyn: bad/good knees
She-Ra DOES have old eyes/new knees. Saw her in English card at Power Con but part swap what you already have: same thing really.
200X He-Man: school bus yellow hair and blonde hair
There is a potential packaging variant on a new release my brother caught that he is investigating.

One of each, not the variants, is good enough for me Mr Home Arcade...I'm so late to the table it's expensive to complete a straight run but I'm almost complete and only been collecting since January...I got Camo Khan and Samurai over the weekend. £100 each...god damn, but I love it! The wings on my Castle Greyskull Sorceress turned yellow. My room is always cool and my windows are blacked out so I'm a little confused as to why. I'm envious of the pristine wings on the two you showed off.

In the beginning of the video I said I wasn't counting those, which was why I only showed the old n new knees while sorceress. Everyone knows about those changes in the knees and I do have them. This list was for variants that take it a step farther then just the knees being different

Your missing the same issues of Hordak but in the Buzz Saw Hordak have 2 different eyes
I think there was a figure not 200x he man or snake armor he man that had some units shipped with that head. I wish I could remember which figure it was
Oh there's more. 200X He-man has a hair color variant. One is very yellow, the other is almost brown.
And good luck finding a Slaker without a cracked jaw. 😆

Although do the standard He-Man & Skeletor’s with different heads count? The first wave of He-Man & Skeletor had heads that were kinda controversial. He-Man had a head most didn’t like, while Skeletor had an open mouth. Later releases gave them more vintage looking heads & replaced their half combining swords with full swords. Do those count too?

I kid, I kid. I didn't know about most of these. I was wondering why seeing Turtles of Grayskull Ram-Man for the first time last week at Walmart, he was more translucent than what I saw online.
You forgot: Teela (not only the zoar version) and Evil-lyn (both: regular and 200x) with old and new knees.
No I didn't. I said in near the beginning when I showed the white sorceress with the new n old knees that all the ladies had them. I just didn't show it

Question: Hordak (I thought there were only 2 variations (i have version red eyes) on standard card and the corrected one is the buzz saw hordak deluxe card. Are you sure that there is a corrected paint hordak on standart card? (US/Int)
@iliasfog8857 a friend of mine that got it on card, sent it to me. I was shocked too. There's a Slamurai with loin cloth of 200x king randor on card that I plan to buy next week which was a mistake from the factory. I believe it was a situation like that with that Hordak

I for myself buy variations if they are an upgrade thats why i like Fan Favourite/Re-Issues figures most.
Slamurai (got mine last week finally cheap =34 on int card) is of course interesting to get a variation too.
Question: I believe that my Vintage Head Skeletor (on international card) has a much darker purple than i see from other collectors which have that figure also. I have bought him very late. Do you confirm that? (The lighter Clamp Champ would had sold out the darker one - in my country 100x times)
@iliasfog8857 I haven't heard anything about the darker head skeletor on that buck but I'll definitely look into it . Sounds interesting 🤔

Battle armor skeletor also has a variant one is shiny in the purple bits in the amor the other one doesn't have it, I have the shinier version

While I really like translucent figures im not a fan of seeing the inner workings of the figure through the plastic. To me it makes it look more like a toy and not a figure (if that makes sense) If im taking a photo of a figure fighting another figure and I see the inner frame working of a non robotic figure its...weird to me. (then again I just might be weird, hehe) For me the smokey translucent like plastic is perfect, or like Masterverse Revelation Scareglow, you didnt notice the translucent unless you put a light behind him.

Don't really care much for variation like this. Although I did find a paint defect on a Battle Armor Skeletor I used to make my Battle Armor Faker when I was at Ollie's. The battle armor was missing paint apps.
