Looking back now at the SMPR series looks like Arsenal sickness wasn't too much of a factor in this one in particular. They just didn't gave enough respect to SMPR and Exotiik was playing really well
well... it went to game 7 so even if the sickness was a small factor it would have made the difference between a game 7 loss and a game 7 win
@@somerandomchad469 consider that SMPR had the same 4-3 Win result against Dignitas in Fall. Both teams made a player change (SSG SMPR) and Dig swept SSG this time...
Retals also made a lot of mistakes that resulted in them getting scored on. Not trying to start a war in the comments, but just take a look at how he played.
Retals is being the Chrislongfilms of juice wrld's career. Like he's recording the background of stuff and uploading it even if he's off the team now.

List of mistakes I noticed Retals made against SMPR.
I made this because I want to improve. Also, it might help someone else too. And also, I apologize if there are any grammar errors.
1:15 - Mechanical error.
Missed the ball that was in front of his net. Luckily, his teammates were able to cover his miss.
2:00 - Should've challenged.
Retals was really close to the ball and it was definitely him that should've challenge that instead of Daniel. Exotiik had a clear sight of Daniel and, due to the ball bouncing off the ground, would be (and in the end was) able to flick the ball over Dan anytime. Meanwhile, Retals was coming from the side and already had momentum with his car which increases the chances of successfully challenging the ball. And even if Exotiik got that ball over Retals, Dan would have enough boost to get it to the backboard.
3:08 - Unnecessary last touch.
I don't know what he thought he'd achieve with that last touch. He had just enough boost to get to the ball after the first touch and maybe give it a slight push. It would just be a pass towards Kassio. If only Daniel did not jump for that, Retals would be able to pass it to him, but since he did, Retals should've let him have it. Dan could've took it to the other wall, maybe do a double of the wall or maybe something else.
3:35 - Pre-jumped the ball for almost no reason.
From the position he was in he was covering at least 60% of his net. But after he pre-jumped he was no longer able to cover his right side. If he was a bit more patient, he would've saved that shot with no problem. In such situations you have to choose which side to cover since you can't cover both 100%. So, It's better to try and cover the side that you're already on if you don't think you can save the other, instead of pre-jumping and predicting shots.
4:35 - Bad positioning/awareness.
Honestly, I don't know what happened here. He clearly saw he was the last man back and that there was a player chasing the ball, ready to shot at the net. The only place he can shoot is to Retals' left and Retals was in a good position...before he decided to go for the boost even tho he already had full boost.
5:23 - Mechanical error. Again.
Not much to say here. Although he was low on boost, it was more than enough to clear that ball. If he had jumped earlier and speed fliped into the ball, he would've been able to clear it to their corner.
7:15 - Bad awareness.
Now, this isn't entirely Retals' fault. Arsenal didn't save/clear the ball completely and that's on him. But Retals could've been there to at least bump Chausette. He would have been able to get back in time, but he went for boost, again, hoping that Arsenal would successfully clear the ball. He saw that Arsenal was pressured a lot, so the least Retals can do is try.
8:27 - Bad awareness. Again.
Chausette was in their corner and Retals either didn't see him, or did see him and thought he left. Either way, he still should've rotated towards the net and play it safe. You can't assume that Chausette left your corner. If you don't see him leave, don't risk it.
9:52 - Bad awareness...
You can clearly see that Arsenal is out of the play, Dan is in a 2v1 and beats Chausette, but that leaves Retals in a 1v1 against Kassio who's in a good position to shoot. The ball is going towards Kassio after the bounce and he was already in the air before Retals. So, It would've been a better decision to go in net, flick his right stick to see where is Kassio at and try to defend the shoot rather then trying to beat him to the ball while he didn't even see him.
11:09 - Should've challenged.
You can see that after Kassio bangs the ball to their wall, no one is going for the ball. Instead of reversing back to net, Retals could've hit the ball to their corner after the bounce. Because he reversed, he gave Exotiik time and space to shoot the ball which resulted in a goal.
12:15 - Bad awareness.
Again, same mistake like the one at 9:52. He didn't even see the opponent, yet he still rushed to the ball so fast that he even missed it. You need to calm down in these situations. If he rotated towards the net and, again, flickes his right stick towards the midfield to see if anyone is going up for the ball he could've increased his chances of saving it.
15:50 - Unnecessary last touch.
There was absolutely no reason to shoot the ball from that distance. Pause at 15:51 and look at SMPR's defence. Everyone is perfectly positioned. One on the backboard, one in net and one to rotating back as 3rd man. This is when you decide what to do. An airdribble into a 50/50 or even a flip reset attempt would have been better then just "passing" them the ball.
16:44 - Bad positioning.
Similar to what happened at 4:38, but this time Retals decides to brake while rotating towards the net. I don't know why because he was clearly last one back and the net was wide open. He almost saved it, but almost isn't enough. If only he continued moving forward instead of braking he would've been able to save it.

Although I was rooting for Dignitas (I’m Dutch, so rooting for Joreuz) I hoped you guys would win the next game and you were a great part in that. I’m confused why the ssg org would let you go, I don’t follow the esports news much so I was really surprised. Hopefully you will come back stronger. Thanks for uploading

28:20 - Miss.
He tried to pre-jump bananahead for no reason. If he stayed a bit longer on the wall, he would've cleared it. Instead, he went early and missed.
28:40 - Should've challenged
Scrub was air dribbling the ball directly to Retals. I don't know why he didn't go for it since it's basically a free challenge and Dan was right there to clean up the 50.
28:57 - Bad attempt to pass
Bad decision to try and pass the ball right next to the opponent while the ball is also really easy to reach. Can't really suggest a different action because the clip starts with Retals already popping the ball of the wall so I don't know how he got there.
29:13 - Mechanical error.
He had it, but flipped the wrong way.
29:50 - Missed opportunity
Not really that big of a deal, but it would've been better if he passed the ball to either Dan or Arsenal since both of them were open.
30:18 - Pushed up way too much.
He didn't respect Scrub. If he had stopped in the midfield, it would be a free ball for him.
32:28 - Unnecessary pre-jump
You can see that he was hesitating to go for the ball and in the end made a bad decision to pre-jump. There are two options available here. First, rotating far post completely. The ball would then be in front of him and all he would need to do is jump to it. Second, full commit as fast as possible. Not the safest play, but since he was already rushing back it was an option and I think he wanted to do that, but thet started hesitating last second in front of the net. When you pick one play, you stick to it. You can't do two at once.
33:05 - Bad awareness
No reason for him to turn here. They killed the ball's momentum with their kickoff, so Retals should've challenge that. If you're going to cheat, commit all the way. Don't stop midway and change your mind.

I feel like the sub role is very under-utilized in the RLCS scene. I know chemistry is important which is why these subs never seem to play in matches, but to think SSG could have had to withdraw entirely if arsenal got more sick is a bit risky for a big name org like SSG. Also why would their sub not even be in attendance at the biggest event of the year? I feel like most subs are just hoping to cash in on free blue titles and seem to have no actual interest in the potential opportunity to shine on the big stage
jasper wasnt even in dallas they couldnt sub him in
their sub jasper flew into dallas for the main event, he wasn't there during wildcard, this is something I agree on and I think this will hopefully show the importance to orgs of having their subs with them during all events, just incase.

The shift in tone when you're up versus when you're being fought for a win or soundly beaten is stark.
You clearly didn't take Dig, KCP and especially SMPR seriously and the collapse in your morale and the constant excuses that erupted when you got punched in the mouth by these teams shows problems much deeper than Arsenal's sickness.
All four of you, in trying to be confident, instead fall prey to arrogance. If you truly were self confident, you wouldn't feel the need to constantly claim bad luck when you were being beaten.
