Another Technique you can use to get actual clients to build your portfolio is to offer free projects to non-profits, NGO's etc and in return you can charge them a detailed review or feedback.

While I understand Ran's perspective, it's important to recognize that this represents a significant investment of time and resources with no guaranteed outcome. In our industry, designers are often exploited, particularly when interviewing for jobs. It's common for employers to request test design projects, only to ghost candidates afterward. Although this situation involves poaching client work, the risks are still very real.

Great video, but I truly disagree with one point you make, when you said to provide free work for prospective clients. You should never ever work for free, even when just trying to get your foot in the door (unless you are helping family or a close friend to build a portfolio). Especially if you are targeting the super-wealthy demographic, always charge MORE than the average competition. A higher price tag alone conveys you are providing something special that others are not, and this triggers interest to your prospective client. There are other ways to provide value for free or low cost, such as a consultation call, e-book showing the benefits of good web design, blog on your site, etc.

I wouldn't be able to create the Responsiveness of my Portfolio header in Webflow/Framer as I have to check more than 3 breakpoints, plus I have to check height as well (landscape and portrait modes) so everything properly accomodates on EVERY possible device. I have many media-queries and even nested media-queries, there are even media-queries to target "fine" (mouse) or "coarce" (non-mouse, finger (mobile/tablet)) or to reduce motion for people who have this settings enabled for example.

@@kana-0006 Doesn't have to be a whole website. Just do a redesign of their homepage and see if they like it. You get quicker everytime and every industry has its own problems. So when working with ie hotels you learn from audit to audit more about their industry and eventually get a win. You can also reuse some of your older ideas and customize them to their needs (just don't straight copy it and make a template or something...)
In the beginning it took me like 4-5 days to finish even an acceptable homepage. Now after 2 years of nearly daily practice 4-5 hours is enough for low-mid level changes.

Very lot of thing:in CMS (like WordPress or webflow) you are limited in available theme & plugins , and performance may suffer if too many plugins are used or heavy themes used ,also for Scalability cms Suitable for small to medium websites or businesses.
Security in cms largely depends on third-party plugins, updates, and configurations.
Sometimes, plugin or theme updates can cause compatibility issues.
In this case Custom coding Offers a better solution .

I would like some kind of advice.
Mastering Tools needs time, I am studying Figma since a few time and Wordpress + Elementor PRO, plus various courses ( including your channel) about Web Design Theory etc ect.
And since I want to face tools one by one ( not studying more than one tools togheter, I get confused), I think it will take time before i will be able to study also Webflow and Framer.
But i will have the necessity to work soon, what do you suggest in order to be able to get a job at least at the beginning of 2025? How should I plan my studies in order to be ready to work as much professional as I can and as soon as possible?
Then, What do you think about Wordpress + Elementor PRO?
Thank you so much for your answer, I will really appreciate that.

Last year, I built a website for one of the prominent theatres of our country which was appreciated by many. As long as I was involved with its maintenance, all went fine but when my after-sales service was over, someone else was positioned by the client to handle the website's update and other things, and eventually the website became ugly. But since it was built by me, I should showcase it in my portfolio (which I did actually, but not showing now), on the other hand it's no longer beautiful. What should I do now? Show it or not show it? If show it, then how?
