@@cymbelline02 Is it cheaper for someone in the US to buy it and send it to you?
Try different foam products while you wait for UK stores to get Simon’s blocks in. Craft foam, foam toy blocks, and even some of the foam mats for exercising will mold like this. You might have something in your house right now that’s made out of EVA foam.

Hello! Im thankful I was lazy today!! Jennifer, you made me run out to rummage in my recycling bin! Lol I have been destashing my craft room and ran across my 20 year old blue and purple Magic Foams. Not remembering how to use them, and also being in my "junk/misc" (rarely used) drawer, I just pitched it in my recycle bag. Having already taken my trash to the curb, the bag containing my little beauties remained in my garage cause I was too lazy to walk outside in the cold! (Yay me!) So guess who went outside to retrieve them from the bin today?! 🤣 I do have to say that was perfect timing! THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY FOAMS, REIGNITING MY IMMAGINATION, and giving me inspiration to use them! 😆

Big fun! You're right, there was an old version. It was blue and we used pieces in different shapes and sizes. We (I) didn't have dies or embossing folders then and made stamps from household objects. Coins, string, rubber bands, etc.. But now! I'll see if I can find it, or, more likely, buying the new one. Can't wait to go to town with all your wonderful new ideas! Talk about new life! Thanks, Jennifer, for keeping our hobby new and fresh!

OMG!!! I just got mine in the mail and couldn't wait to try it out. Found the most detailed die, stamp, and embossing folder. Tried all three and ran to the living room to show my husband! He was so impressed, but not as impressed as when I showed him what happens after I clean it off of ink and hit it with the heat gun. Amazing. I can't wait to use this. What an awesome tool!!

The thick craft foam sold in craft stores in the kids department will do almost the same thing as the stamp foam if you wanna try it before buying one or if you have some already laying around and are tight on cash.... I figured that out a few years ago when the stamp foam first came out and everyone I watched was using it

I bought mine years ago too, I think mine were light blue. One of the tips on the packaging said to put rice in a sided dish or pan, then press the foam into it for a unique stamp. You could also randomly drop toothpicks for a pattern or gravel, you can press into buttons (I thought doing that would be really cool if you were gifting someone with something you had sewn with buttons and then make a card that's been stamped with the same buttons). You can also put swirly string in the pan (or wire). I'm glad to see another company has brought this foam back! Thanks for the wonderful demonstrations and for the inspiration!

  • @lyllydd
    @lyllydd 3 года назад +1

Yep. I have 2 of the old blocks of Penscore stamping foam, as well as a thick piece of something that looks like a fun foam. It's like about a half inch thick. You can also heat mold some of the foam block letters sold in the kids' section of some big-box or craft stores. Depending on the thickness, you could create one stamp on each of the large sides, or use the edges to create a thin border stamp.

I always love your videos. It would also look beautiful to only color the inner part of the butterfly. Also, an updated video of your craft room would be fun. Many of us already feel connected, but it would also be fun to see a picture of your kids in your craft room. Maybe for security you wouldn’t want to do that? But to hear briefly about them would help us connect even more. Thank you so much for your great videos!

I have that blue one. I got two x 8 packs on eBay several years ago. I've used half a pack on both sides and still have 12 left to use. I also got designs by pressing into glassware, pottery etc.
I tested fun foam years ago and it also melts. The impressions aren't as deep so I die cut them and used as embellishments.

I bought stamping foam years ago before Embossing folders and die cuts. They came as a set with different shapes, square, circle, rectangle and triangle. I still have them. I picked up patterns from china, glass, tins, picture frames and anything else. Making matching pieces for table setting, party themes etc. My fav and most used was making reverse image stamps of my wood block stamps.

I’m sure I’ve got one of these somewhere, picked up at a craft show many years ago. I must dig it out and have a go! I love the effects you have achieved, and I particularly like the way you have paired up the stamp made from an embossing folder which you have then used to create the embossed card base. There are loads of textured things around the house that can be used to make stamps. I’ve got a lot of vintage lace which I am sure would work, and plastic food packaging has an interesting texture on the bottom - everywhere you look there is something! Thank you so much for such an enjoyable and inspiring video.

Tim Holtz or Ranger had something very similar years ago and it was so much fun. I could press my Mom's silverware design into the foam for a really personal card. I pressed lace, soles of shoes, jewelry, and toys, I think you could press a fish, a pine branch, an embossed leather book cover, or even dried flowers or seed pods also. I'm glad this is back available and it looks easier to clean ink off but not sure about that.

I remember this well - it came in a package with 4 foam stamps - and was originally from Clearsnap. They also incorporated that foam into small pieces that were fitted with plastic to snap onto styluses. Came in lots of different shapes. I wonder where I put mine......

I think it would be so fun to stamp a matching envelope when you are stamping your card backgrounds.

The stamp appears to work better the second time you stamp it with an image. I noticed the second stamping always looked cleaner than the first.

I remember seeing the blue sponge which u could reheat and make into your own stamps on the Carol Duvall show. I never got to buy that but now I have to get my hand on this.

This will help me with a problem I seem to come up against often. I always seem to look at my stuff…stamps, stencils, dies…and wish they were the other way around.
The stamping foam I have (Ranger I think…approx A4 size) is black and I like this grey better bcuz you can see the ink.

I bought stamping foam years ago, in fact the first card exchange I participated in I used this technique since I had no stamps then. I used a mint leaf for a pattern/design. I was very happy with the finished result. @simonsaysstamp Thanks for remarketing this product! @JenniferMcquireink thanks for sharing your experiments and ideas!

That's a fun idea! From what Simon Hurley says this is updated from the original version. I believe he said it's a bit firmer and is sized perfectly for A2 cards. I can't tell you how much different as I don't have the older one but I think it's great to bring a product back like this because it is such a fun product.
