If it was me, I would have taken my copy of the HOA bylaws to an attorney for him/her to examine as to which bylaws were enforceable by the HOA as well as which bylaws are illegal on a local, state, and federal level. I would also find out what I should do if the HOA tries to fine me for one of the bylaws that are not enforceable and/or illegal. I would also pass this information to others in the community so that they can protect themselves as well. Then I would just sit back, chill, and watch as the chaos unfolds in the HOA.
