Yeah, once upon a time I remodeled houses for a living. Started when the sun came up, quit when the sun went down. And still had the energy to go out and party with friends...those days are LONG gone!
Hey Mike good to hear about your work history-- "a young lad out there slaving away for his family building his empire, and making the country great". No wonder why your so happy to be at home every night after your " light duty job". You are an inspiration to many , all with the great support team you have at home, you are truely blessed. Just goes to prove to people what a person can do with all the talents that God has given him. And "What a Great Country we live in".
Mike, the in caption description you gave from the cab describing what you were doing with the excavator while telling excavator stories was awesome! Great job!
I was going to type that very same comment. Really enjoyed how you did that. It was almost like we were just sitting there having a conversation. Hope you do more of that in the future.
Grew up on a farm. Folks bought 40 acres we converted from timber to crop. Cut down trees. Dynamited stumps. Burned brush and roots. Picked up roots and sticks, put on hayrack. Burned brush and roots. Bulldozed. Burned brush and roots. Plowed land. Picked up brush and roots, burned. Surveyed land. Terraced land w/ bulldozer. Worked like dogs all summer. Called it the "Brush 40." Next year farmed the timber soil. Good crop only when you fert the dickens out of it. ENJOYED WATCHING YOU DO THIS WORK WITH MACHINERY, MIKE!! GREAT JOB.
Hello again from beautiful Ocala (Central) Florida, Debbie here. You guys are really making progress on getting things ready for the build. Ty is so darn cute!! Think he's going to be more of a firewood type of guy than a gravel guy! LOL My niece would NOT walk barefooted on grass when she was little and 'till this day does not like to walk on grass barefooted! Crazy, I love to walk on thick nice grass barefooted, feels wonderful. Keep up the good work! #HaveADay!
Larry is a great guy and this is why these RUclips communities are so great. People can share ideas. Kentucky Speedway is about 50 minutes from where I live.
Nothing like grandkids, we have a 6 yr old grandson and it seems like he was just born yesterday. Enjoy him every minute you can because they sure grow up fast.
You're good with the equipment Mike, especially the excavator. Tractors are one thing, the excavator is a lot harder to master. The heavy and highway story explains a lot, Thanks.
Morning Morgans! There's nothing better than watching an equipment operator when they can use their machine like an extension of their arm and hand! Great job Mike! Have a great weekend guys! Stay healthy!
I live about 30 minutes from the KY Speedway. I was raised on a farm in Western KY, and I still live on that same farm. I’ve always enjoyed operating any kind of equipment, from lawnmowers to caterpillar bulldozers. It was relaxing and peaceful to me. I liked operating the bulldozers the most. We cleared the land with big cutting blades after the loggers had cleared all the good timber so the paper mill could plant new trees. We worked all over Western KY, Southeastern MO, and Southern IL.
Pro tip : when I pick up sticks in the yard, I use a grabber with a long handle. You can get them at the box stores. Keeps you from constantly bending over and saves your back. Makes it easy for everyone.
Hi Mike, great video, I’m even excited about the new building! I just love seeing the Morgan World expanding. Also, couldn’t help but notice the Tye seems to be warming to you.
I have a rock/firewood bucket that I used in my land clearing company for that very thing to get bigger roots and small stumps out of the dirt. Have a great day be safe
Neat vid. Find out more about someone just visiting and listening to stories about their past. Glad this is all documented for you. This whole project is one of those moments in time you will cherish because of the work that went into it and how it changed the landscape and how the family got together to watch, etc. I can just hear you 10 years from now looking at pics and saying remember when.....
Enjoying the work stories Mike. I work construction as an electrician and i dont like the traveling either. Can’t wait to see u light that fire pit up with that pine under everything.
Love the new iron you have there Mike....seats remind me of that movie Friday....keeping them seats nice still in the plastic! Love it buddy! Hope to see ya soon #stoneyridgefarmer
Outdoors w/ t/ Morgans and Stoney Ridge Farmer.....two of my favorites......Whhhhoooooop !!!! Nice job Mike....you are quite the operator. And I bet in a few years...you will be Ty's favorite.....
Interesting use of the firewood bucket. I think I will get the grapple out and move something today. Recent winds have put three trees down in the fields. Beautiful weather to be outside.
Yeh memories. I quit school when I was 15 got a job the next day. Running a D7E pulling a Cat 70 cable scraper building roads for the gov. Long hours, hard work, 6 bucks an hr. Pockets were full of money. Loved it.
I have fabricated a stout hitch for my tractor to use with my dump trailer. I find it easier to move the trailer around especially since my backhoe does not reach very far and truck not as maneuverable. Thanks for filming, I liked hearing about your work history.
Hi my name is David. I live in Las Vegas Nevada. Washington bunch of your old ones you did really good job like property. Can't wait to see your new building. I love the outdoors. My best friend and I have a cabin up on whitefish. We just don't get to go to it much. Keep up the good work with all your videos. 😀😀😀😀
that is funny. My middle daughter was like that with grass. you could put her on a blanket and did not have to worry about her wandering off. as soon as she touched the grass she would back right on to the blanket. she is 21 years old now and still does not like the feel of grass. love watching the equipment. you are a damn good operator. Thank you for sharing your passions.
We have a similar work history. Amazing the things we do out of necessity and not think twice, just do. Over 50 now and need the down time/slower pace for sure.
That’s what I like about your videos. Ty goes to crying and you don’t cut it out, you leave it in and close normally. Normal people and real behavior. I’m liking the longer sets to. Not all the talking all the time. Bless you.
Great video yet again. Mike I really enjoy hearing the old work stories, that’s where long lasting friendships are made. Ty is growing so fast. I laughed at the poor little fella with the limestone. My friends son was the same at that age with grass. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay safe.
Hello Ty hello Hunter. It seems yes Ty wants to run the equipment and he also has Melissa wrapped around his little finger. The wood bucket was a good suggestion it cut down the manual labor. Thanks for sharing your video with us. Ed
I have a friend that is an Iron Worker and they only do massive jobs, 6 months or more. He bought a travel trailer and he goes and parks it and just stays. He isn't married and his son is grown. His trailer and Dodge 2500 Diesel paid for themselves without the driving and fuel. The truck really has low miles on it. I know back in the masonry business I slept in the truck with my dad driving to work and on lunch when I was an invincible teen! I'm only about 6 months older than you and feel like I have seen and done a hundred years stuff! lol Have you seen Chris's new bucket with the lets dig logo on it? It's a dirt moving beast that the thumb has more fingers!
I was impressed at how you took nibbles from that root pile. Many would have been tempted to take a huge bite. Every time I watch you use heavy equipment I learn something.
I remember back at the age of 25 running a rubber tired loader 12 hrs a day 7 days a week for a couple months loading dump trucks in a sand and gravel company. Was working 12 hr days at the age of 65 too doing industrial maintenance. I really didn't mind the hrs but the hour drive time one way I got over real quick.
Love the split screen, Mike!!!! Also really enjoyed you reminiscing about your younger work life and old jobs. When you were raised by World War II generation parents like I was work ethic is in your blood! I love it! 💪💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Really like the intro music Michael. Sounds like Huey Lewis and the News a lot yes? Great idea using that Top Dog bucket to sieve your dirt yet gather the stumps and other wooden materials out to the burn pile. Wonder what made Ty feel so upset at the last 2 minutes of the video? He is an incredibly mellow lad while Melissa cuddles him. Great Mom skills for sure!
Good Will. Great shopping. I've purchased wheelchairs, sewing machines, pants and shirts. New hats and old books. I never buy used caps or under wear😫...🤔😀
A builder's foreman I know well has a theory that there is a world of difference between someone who can drive an excavator, and a genuine 'operator'. This, people, is true 'operation'.... 😂👍🇦🇺
Mike, have you ever thought of milling a couple of 2X10 for the sides of the dump trailer, there are slots for them and would give more hauling capacity.
Nice work Mike. The burn pit is not a pit anymore, it's a pile now. Also, since I own a snocone business, I use to pay the neighborhood kids in snocones to pick up sticks and branches in my yard after a storm. Maybe try ice cream with Eva and her friends. Have a productive day.
Great video.... oh yeah Kentucky Speedway, I went down there a lot when it first opened. When the race was over it took forever to get out of there. Since then they’ve made improvements.
if that job in Lewistown was the big job at the Narrows. i was driving truck through there at that time.. was recently up through there and it's so nice now that it's opened up. nice job Mike lol
Don't know if anyone else can see it but the excavator looks almost like a long necked dinosaur feeding. Good job Mike. Even at my age I would love to have a turn running that piece of equipment.
Mike , check out the universal skid steer plate 1/2” with the tubular welded hitch , like on your truck , you can put a over/under 2” / 2 5/16” ball , use your Kubota tractor , allows you to save your truck from any damage and with tractor/ plate you can place any trailer into the tightest of spots on the work areas , most times your on your tractor anyway , plates about $200 delivered , eBay a little more already to work with tube welded already , i use mine with the Wacker wl 30/32 to put my different trailers be hind my warehouse , nice because your facing them trailer versus using mirrors , just a thought enjoying the videos
I think Ty was afraid you were going to make him walk or crawl on the sharp rocks. I think it is cool that Hannah and her friend go to Goodwill to do their shopping and have fun.
You aren't kidding about getting the roots separated first. I had my land logged over the winter and i have been having a really hard time getting the roots, rocks, and branches out. And I'm using a really heavy duty Everything Attachments Wicked Root grapple.
ya i hear you i worked 2 jobs for 15 years.... i have no regrets, yes it was tough but paid off big for me, retired at 55.............. GOOD JOB MIKE! thanks 4 video. be kind.
If you want to get somewhere you have to work two jobs at some point in your life. It is best to do it when you are young and have all that extra energy.
Thanks for the shout Mike.
Congratulations Larry.. 😁👍
Attaboy Larry!
Good idea Larry👍

Yeah, once upon a time I remodeled houses for a living. Started when the sun came up, quit when the sun went down. And still had the energy to go out and party with friends...those days are LONG gone!
I'm 63 & my hubby is 66. We laugh now about going to bed at the time we used to be going out. It's amazing what time can do to you. lol

The cab of that excavator is reminiscent of my grandma's living room with all the clear vinyl covers on the "good" furniture!!
🤣🤣🤣
Mike, the in caption description you gave from the cab describing what you were doing with the excavator while telling excavator stories was awesome! Great job!

Sometimes the mess you have to make first to do a project is overwhelming !!👍👊
Nothing like grandkids, we have a 6 yr old grandson and it seems like he was just born yesterday. Enjoy him every minute you can because they sure grow up fast.
You're good with the equipment Mike, especially the excavator. Tractors are one thing, the excavator is a lot harder to master. The heavy and highway story explains a lot, Thanks.
I like hearing your stories about your life experiences....
Mike I like watching a smooth track hole operator work great job
Nice finesse work with that excavator Mike! Won't be long before Ty is chatting with us!!!
Morning Morgans!
There's nothing better than watching an equipment operator when they can
use their machine like an extension of their arm and hand!
Great job Mike! Have a great weekend guys! Stay healthy!
YOU ARE THE MASTER OF THAT KUBOTA !!
We like the picture in a picture with your narration Mike. That's a fun effect. Poor Ty, lol. He'll figure it out. God Bless.

Ty will love the rocks soon, seems like he is starting to like grandpa mike within the 10ft rule. New castle Pa.
Good job, that's an awesome bucket.
Your a smoothie operator. Enjoyed your road stories. I have a few myself as a old retired steamfitter. Y'all have a great day.
💥 Your firewood bucket works great for sifting through the dirt finding roots. Good to see Hannah and Ty,
*Keep on tractoring!*

Larry Kluck, what a great idea! If there is an attaboy award, you've earned it for this episode.

Turned 16 bought a new truck. Turned 17 had a steady girl friend. No longer had pockets
full of money.
Mike, you need to get Ty up in that tractor with you! He'll be loving it in no time.
I have fabricated a stout hitch for my tractor to use with my dump trailer. I find it easier to move the trailer around especially since my backhoe does not reach very far and truck not as maneuverable. Thanks for filming, I liked hearing about your work history.
Now exactly where Lewistown Pa is .overhead door company is their. I lived in Hughesville pa for about 12yrs. Loved that country.

Good morning all, Phil from Kansas City here. How is everyone? Rain last night, makes it a great day to burn some brush piles. Have a Day.
I like the picture in picture.
I use the kubota L3901 with grapple for the brush cleanup! Open the clamshell part way and float drag it backwards fir all but the big roots
that is funny. Mike you are very good at operating that excavator. You make it look so easy.
Thinking back to how we and our bodies performed when we were young bucks is serious reality check.

Yes thats a nice setup he has
You are a great operator of that machine, neat and precise operation.

Enjoyed your video. I have a KX080-3 and would be interested in the camera setup you have in the cab. The sound is great. Thanks!

You got a lor done .
Looked like the firewood bucket worked good .😊😊👍👍👍🍵🍵🍵🍵
Ty has a pretty good wail there. You could replace the beeper on the shovel with him. When the tracks start to move, the Tyren sounds.
Good vid as always. That was absolutely hilarious with Ty!!!! Quite the grandson !!! Rick.
Nice work Mike. The burn pit is not a pit anymore, it's a pile now. Also,

I think Ty was afraid you were going to make him walk or crawl on the sharp rocks. I think it is cool that Hannah and her friend go to Goodwill to do their shopping and have fun.
Great video Mike! I think you operated a Excavator before! You make it look easy.
Watching you run the excavator is like watching a ballet!
Good afternoon Hunter;-)
You aren't kidding about getting the roots separated first. I had my land logged over the winter and i have been having a really hard time getting the roots, rocks, and branches out. And I'm using a really heavy duty Everything Attachments Wicked Root grapple.
That’s the biggest rake I have ever seen. Mike is really a smooth operator.
ya i hear you i worked 2 jobs for 15 years.... i have no regrets, yes it was tough but paid off big for me, retired at 55.............. GOOD JOB MIKE! thanks 4 video. be kind.
