HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 дек 2018
- In this beginner oriented Sony A7 III (geni.us/DAvFFe6) tutorial style video I will explain Aperture, Shutter Speed, Manual Mode, and Bulb Mode. I will also incorporate the exposure triangle which puts everything together for those new to photography and the Sony camera system in general.. Edit: @ 12:50 I meant to say speed up the shutter, NOT slow down the shutter speed. Sorry about that guys ;)

Super video! I applauded for $2.00 👏
Wow, thanks Doug!!
I have to send him money. I got this camera as a gift & I couldn't figure out how to use it because the Sony manual sucks & doesn't explain how to change the f-stop, etc.
do you know how unbelievably difficult it was to find someone on youtube that explains this?
lol, Thank you for the comments :) When I made this video I had that exact thought in mind. The very basic fundamentals are not often shared in reviews and are really key to understanding photography in general. Once you know these basics, you can really start to explore and expand your photography skills in multiple directions. I'm really glad the video helped you out!!
and explain it so incredibly easily and well? I hear you!!
Yeah was thinking the same thing
EXACTLY! I was just about to say the same thing! Great Video.
@@jonnybrooks1990 Thank you Jonny :)
Dude let me say this so that everyone understands. Everyone expects people to be an expert with this camera, but your teaching style is just perfect!
Thank you very much Fred :)
This is how every tutorial on youtube should’ve been made🙏
Thank you!
you are the only one that succeeded to make me understand how to shoot photo! thank you
Awesome to hear and I'm really glad the video helped you out :)
Stelios Antoniou, Same here, i bought A Sony A7 as my first good camera, i am a hopeless photographer, but Jay demonstrated it so well, it made me understand so much more.
Me too!!!!!
Haha same here
Can't agree more, you are the best at explaning this. I have so confused all this time! Thank you so much for this video!!
As a new photographer, this is exactly what I need.. Plan, simple, basic tutorial without technical jargon..thank you
EXACTLY! On point! Well said.
I just bought sony a7r 3 recently and this video help me understand all 3 mode very precisely thanks
Awesome to hear and thanks for the comments Asher ;)
Thank you for this explanation. Helped a ton!
Nick eh 30 the photographer?
I just got my Sony A7 III today and I am completely brand new to owning a camera and this was extremely extremely extremely helpful thank you so much
You're very welcome!
I've had my Sony a7iii for a couple of years and have never really gotten off of automatic mode. Your video made a light bulb come on and I am much more confident now that I'll be able to experiment with various settings and take better pictures. Thank you for making a video that explains the features in simple terms and the reasons for using different modes. Much appreciated!
Thank you so much for this very informative video. I have been taking pictures with a Sony bridge camera for the past 10 years and just recently upgraded to the Sony A7 iii. I now have the goal of not using full auto mode anymore so I greatly appreciate all your helpful tips. I also appreciate how succinct you are about delivering the information - no huge history lesson on the evolution of the Sony camera. I will definitely look up more of your videos. 👍🏻
I'm so mad I'm now finding this video. This was the best video ever!!!!....Like you explained the basics of photography and how to use the camera so perfectly and easy to understand all in about 19 minutes. WOW. I learned so much it's crazy. I know this is years late but seriously thank you for the time and effort that you put into this video.
I just bought a a7iii for my very first camera. This 18 minute video just taught me very thing I was trying to learn as I went through the manual. Thanks for the great video.
I've literally been to the other side of the internet and back looking for a video that covers the A7iii basics as I wasn't familiar with Sony's new menus. As others have commented it was no easy tasking making my way here....what an awesome video - thank you! *New Subscriber* here!
I have watched no less than a dozen tutorials for this particular camera. By far, the most comprehensive and understandable. Thank you!
Hey Jay, I came here to check out the Sony-specific settings and ended up understanding ISO/ShutterSpeed/Aperture better than ever before, despite already having watched ten of videos on the subject! Thanks a lot! I finally get everything! :D
That is awesome Dan and thank you for taking the time to leave such as a nice comment ;)
Aaaaaaaaye! This was unbelievably helpful! I love photography and just about understood my way around my camera! After 7 months of trial and error and “just going out and shooting” you just made everything crystal clear .. never thought I’d say that!
That is awesome to hear :) Thanks for sharing and have a good one, Jay
Thank you Jay! I have been in Aperture mode for a while now on my A7 III and this did a great job assisting me to get to my next destination which is Shutter priority! This is so much better than anything else out there by a mile and plus there's also no annoying music either lol! Anyhow, thanks again and keep up the good work! 😁
Glad it helped Jeffrey and thank you very much for the kind comments :)
Thank you so much for explaining these basic concepts in a way that are easy to put into practice immediately. Thank you for not doing the same type of video that everyone else produced which was about what are their menu settings without explaining the basic concepts for those of us that are beginners. finding someone who is a true teacher at heart - such as yourself - can be quite challenging in the vastness of RUclips. I am so glad I found you! I look forward to working through all of your other beginner videos.
Thank you :)
thank you so much for this video! I have been successfully shooting for well over a decade and didn't know half the thing you just taught be about Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO settings. thanks again and keep up the good work!
Awesome to hear and thank you so much for the comments :)
You are the first individual to explain this in such a straightforward, understandable and easy to digest way. Bravo sir...Bravo! Subbed!
Thank you 🙏🏿! You really made it easier for a beginner! Your approach was less intimidating compared to a lot of other videos. 🙏🏿 👏🏿
Wow. Wish I had found this video months ago. I am in school for photography so I totally get the aperture/shutter speed/iso connection, but being able to see someone make the adjustments on the exact camera that I have made it so much easier for me! Thank you so so much!
You're very welcome! 😊
I am really impressed by the length of the video , Such a short time lot of things are explained very clearly Thank you
Very informative video. I’m a first time photographer and purchased this camera a year ago. I was intimidated by it at first, but your video has given me confidence. Thank you 😎
I have saved this video and shared with my partner as we are both learning photography.
I’ve searched everywhere and this is by far the most common sense practical approach.
I'm really happy to hear the video helped you guys out! Thanks for the comments and have a good day ;)
You are a lifesaver! I can't thank you enough for making this video. Sony's manual doesn't tell us how to adjust the f-stop, shutter, etc. & I was going crazy trying to find instructions on how to do all of this. I took better pictures w/ my $89.00 Canon & they turned out pretty damn well. I live in Ct. & every day I take pictures of bear, butterflies, frogs & tiny little creatures w/ the Sony & 1 picture out of 50 were good or at least in focus. God bless you brother. You just made my day! Thanks again!
What a great video. Just bought my first real camera - the Sony A7 IV. I’m getting into photography and cinematography as a hobby in concert with streaming and this video was so helpful.
As an a7iii Auto shooter, this was awesome, thank you!
Thank you for the comments and I'm really glad the video helped you out!
This is the most informative video I have seen for this camera. I recently bought a Sony a 7ii and this helped me a lot. I drained my first battery juice just playing with the settings getting to know my camera. Thanks a lot.
You're very welcome!
Thanks.. your videos are so valuable. Things sure have changed since my dad's old SLR I used in college. Relearning everything!
Man the A7iii is my first camera EVER. this video just explained soooo much to me! Great. Thank you.
This guy has changed my life. I understand it in my head. I could never apply it. People are too busy to help. Took matters into my own hands. Thanks man
Thank you for the good and in-depth explanation and for using sample images while doing so.
Thank you so much for this. everyone barely touches on just one of the aspects that you broke down very well and easy to understand.
Brand new photographer and this video is the ONLY one that explains the camera simply and how all the modes work.. THANK YOU!!
Excellent presentation for beginners or new Sony purchasers.... visually you were able to see where your fingers are touching the dials...good job...
DUDE!!! This is hands down the best photography tutorial I have ever watched. I'm headed to Bolinas Ridge (Marin, CA) this afternoon for some sunset shots with the A7iii. You've given me a fighting chance of getting a good shot ;-)
Thank you!
You are very welcome and I'm certain your sunset shots came out great :)

Jay your video is really helping me. I know you made the video in 2018 but it is still relevant in 2020 it is helping me to get better videos from the sony ZV-1. keep up the good work its appreciated all the way here in the UK!
Awesome to hear, and be sure to check out the How-To Videos playlist on my channel, because as you said the non ZV-1 videos are pretty much all relevant as the Sony cameras work the same... ruclips.net/p/PLFE32AB0363640EDF
This is the best video on this topic
Great Great video!!! Thanks Jay!!! I am still a little confused with how to work the aperture, shutter speed and ISO together while on Manual, but I'm guessing it is a matter of practise. Your video taught me a lot and gave me more confidence! Thanks and keep the videos for beginners coming!!!
