    Remember walking into the back of that mine years ago with a very dim light. I got to the water in the back and remember thinking that I hope that pit is filled in otherwise a slip and you could fall 100 feet into a pit.

      Several kinds of metal. Copper, gold, silver, nickel, iron, etc. Didn't find much. This information is from Pioneers in the Wilderness. Book about Cook County area and Grand Marais in the 19th century by Willis Raff.
