I really enjoyed this video! Thank you for taking us to the stamp show with you. It looks like you got some really great deals
I think I did and it is always fun chatting with others who enjoy the hobby
Great video. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure thanks for watching
Hey fella ... lovley vid of the show . Great to see . Watching from the uk just found your channel .👍
Thank you so much for watching. Nice to get more people from across the pond watching :)
A really good video and it's interesting to see what treasures you can find with a set budget. Good stuff!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting
I'm not a collector but I would have enjoyed going through those stamps and first day covers. Seems you did pretty well and still came in under budget. I look forward to seeing more of today's purchases on a future video.
It is a fun little hobby. Lots to enjoy from these little pieces of art
I enjoyed this video very much! Thanks for making it! Interesting to see what was at the show. I think you did very well, Rob, and good for you to stay within your budget! I am looking forward very much to see more about what you bought. Take care!
As you know, half the fun is the social aspect and the discovery of new stamps or even places you haven’t heard of before. Thanks for watching
Stamp shows are always fun.
Interesting to see what is there and socialize with others who enjoy the hobby
Some of those auction items looked interesting. I love boxes of stamps - soaking and sorting them. There is always a surprise.
Lots of deals to be had for sure
Nice video, and congratulation staying on the budget. Its so funny to see how most of the stamps and covers are so cheap there!🤑
First day covers are not as collectable as they once were so old ones are cheap to acquire most times
I haven't been to a Stamp Show for years but will probably go to the next local one here (Vancouver, BC area). I just have to do the work before hand and have an idea of what I'm looking for or I'll end up buying a lot more than I really have use for.
That is a very good plan. I bet your stamps show will have lots of great variety
So cool! I'm off to the show in Victoria BC tomorrow and I hope the selection is as good. Nice Legion hall too! :) I perked up when you showed the country collections so it was cool to see you bought the Newfoundland collection. I had a buddy who was planning to go to that Moncton show, I wonder if he was in the video. I only know him online. 🙂
I hope you find a bunch of deals as well. I have had fun showing what I got in other videos too. Thanks for watching.
A good haul .I always liked to go to shows and look through what was there first then go back to who I wanted to look through.
That is a great way to approach the show to get an overview
Nice lot of stamps and covers there, Rob. Well done! ...And what a bargain.
I think it was a real bargain when you see what is in the lot
Thank you for posting this video, I really enjoyed it and appreciate the effort putting it together for us
My pleasure. It is a really friendly group here
Congrats! For $100/- you surely got a bargain for the whole lot and it is worth the effort of driving in the cold morning. The Newfoundland lot is a gem and I would love to get my hands on it just in case you don’t need it or already have in your collections.BTW you got a new subscriber! Great video and I am finding some time to view you other videos and looking forward for more .👍👍👍
Thank you so much for subscribing and watching
Enjoyed this. Never been to a stamp show. I need to find one and go. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. It is the place to go to find deals and fill in those holes in the collection.
It has been my experience that there are two types of dealers at stamps shows. Those that have mostly inexpensive stamps and those that have pricier stamps. Since I was born pretty instead of rich and still need a lot of inexpensive stamps I tend to gravitate to the former. Lol!
I can feel your pain lol. And it is very true those are the two types of dealers you can find
Thanks for showing your local stamp show. I like it that most items are clearly priced. Overall a very good haul! A whole binder of covers at only $7, and 50 covers for only $5! The pages of Newfoundland stamps are also so good value! I wish I was there, and I would have spent a lot more there!
Thanks so much for watching. I will be filming another show this weekend
@@thatdadguy1974 Thanks. How often is the stamp show held in your city?
@@joyseng once a month
I like stamp fairs not always many tables at this time of the year next one January 20th I collect stamps that catch my eye I always get a cup of tea as spend so much time at a particular table they help me . I have a budget but I some time go over it depends on Mark
Everyone is so helpful in whatever you ask them. People are excited to share their knowledge
Do you know anybody who has seen a 12 cent Victoria?
When did it come out? What is its Scott Number?
@@thatdadguy1974 Scott #3, from 1851. I think it is close to $200,000 USD.
@@dsm2240 wow no not seen that stamp
So many cheap stamps out there, can't be hard to start a nice collection
'Ducks of the 3rd Reich' or 'Guinea pigs of New Guinea' or something like that
Yes it can be a good way to get started
Hello how are you I want to talk to you I own stamps like this a lot How are they sold?
The stamps at the fair were sold in auction or by scott catalog discounted value or at 10 cents a stamp from bulk catalogs
Hi there! I was wondering if if you’d be interested in viewing my dads stamp collection that he had hiding in an old inherited trunk he owns. It was tucked away behind a false wall in it and there’s a medium sized bag FULL of stamps that I’m struggling with. The apps won’t tell me the value and I’m like how the hell am I going to get any values putting on them. But I wondered if you’d make a video going through it?
Where are you from?
@@thatdadguy1974 I’m from central Alberta
@@heatherm6105 you are a bit far from me in New Brunswick
@@thatdadguy1974 I figured I would have to send them to you and trust that they be returned whole but I can understand why most people would not trust others but maybe I could send photos of all of them or at least you could direct me as to who to get help from? A lot of the stamps are from the UK, Canada and I’ve even seen a couple from Africa in there. But the apps I downloaded I can’t find any references that give me an idea of their value as they haven’t found any with values attached to them so I’m stumped.
@@heatherm6105 i am not the right person to evaluate a stamp collection. Plus paying to ship it here and back again would be expensive as well. I would think there must be someone in Calgary or Edmonton who would be able to give you a value for it or perhaps you are interested in keeping it. I am honoured you thought of me for it. I certainly would have loved to have filmed it and shared it on the channel though. I hope you find someone closer to help you out. I hope you keep watching That Dad Guy :)
Like your video. But I am unemployed. I have over 1000 stamps. Need to sell or swap.
I hope you get back on your feet working again soon. Best of luck
@@thatdadguy1974 thank you
