This week on Perfect Scents, we look back on a classic fragrance, Romance (for her) by Ralph Lauren. This is one of the best classic perfumes for women on the market. Romance should be in the perfume collection of any woman who enjoys a traditional floral fragrance.
This perfume starts as a love story does: zesty and bright up top with citrusy mandarin notes. As it settles in, the rose and jasmine notes open up. These floral tones are the primary scent in this perfume. It's anchored with a little musk and patchouli, but just a touch. Romance is not overpowering, but is also not super long-lasting on the skin.

This is a classic for sure! The only perfume I've re-purchased over the years. I've been wearing this since the early 00's and though I don't reach for it as much today, I still love it just the same. Great review!
This was my first designer perfume. I first got it when i was a teen and nothing compares to it!! However i find it doesnt last as long now as when it first came out.
This perfume and Esteem Laurder Pleasures reminds me of my older sister in the mid 90’s !! 😭

I tried this for the first time back in 2003 and really loved it.
It did seem pretty strong though so I spray it lightly!!

So I’m seeing two bottles one has no colour and the other has a pink tone to it- both called the exact same thing, can someone tell me the difference 😭 not the beyond romance btw I’ve seen that too
I think I know what you’re talking about. This one is the Romance Eau de Parfum and the pink one is Romance Parfum. So the pink one is released either this year or last year. Parfums are supposedly more concentrated but I also cannot confirm. The parfum also has slightly different notes. The parfum is apparently more rose forward, with other key notes like patchouli and blackcurrent. While the EDP has signature notes of bergamot, rose de mai & blackcurrent cassis. I haven’t smelt either so I cannot tell you but some people have said this smells just like the original formulation of Romance in the 90s and that it lasts really long 😚
