So, you are telling me, this is a Wario Ware mixed with Psychonauts, with a futuristic urban set-up, AND it has tracks like THIS ONE? Uhhhh I AM THROWING MONEY AT THE SCREEN AND NOTHING HAPPENS

@@collateralmentaldamage Abbie mentioned playing mindwave before and losing so hard she cried. Can't remember if that was this specific tournament or a match at an arcade cabinet at the mall, but either way I think that was supposed to hint that this isn't going the Danganronpa route of killing off the blorbos you've grown emotionally attached to for shock factor. The game looks to be way more invested in its "psychoanalysis via warioware" hook than fleshing out the cyberpunk hellworld that was only built around it to explain the premise diagetically.

I managed to talk to her before it started (totally by accident, I went in blind), she wants the prize to get money and head back to her home town with a special friend. It's easy to tell that her parents don't have much faith in her, she had to sneak out to get to the tournament. Pandora even trades numbers, makes plans to hang out, and cheers on her getting back to her friend, just to end up thrashing that whole dream. I mean, they were bound to cross paths eventually (if Pandora ends up winning) but still. The first time ever playing Mindwave and it's against her :( I am already in love with this game lol.

Theory time! The final micro game feels way different than all the others. Makes sense cause it’s a boss but while the others seem to be happy and silly memories the last one has you in the bottom of a deep chasm controlling a little happy Abbie trying to climb out while escaping rising water. Based on the song Abbie seems to focus on staying positive and happy despite having some bad days. A lot of the memories also feature her friend and based on the lyrics saying “it may not seem like much but the slightest touch can make a difference at the right time” means that’s friend has helped them to stay happy through tough times. Maybe the final game is representing that. Climbing out of chasm and away from the sadness while staying happy. You even enter a little portal like rift at the end almost like Abbie escaping into her own happy little world.
nah. she's not escaping her happy place. She's escaping the sadness she was in after moving, because she now has made friends Pandora and Smalls. (If you talk to her in Lobby)
The game already hooked me with it's darker color palette and just cool vibe, but when I stepped into the elevator and got slapped with THIS Oh this game is gonna be something special
Just finished playing the demo and i can already tell this game will take over my life once it releases because not a lot of times a demo fills me with so much whimsy and joy.
Abbie is such a great first opponent to start with and this song suits her so well. Her child-like innocence and cheerful, optimistic demeanor contrasts so much from the bleak, urbanistic setting the game resides on. A song such as this points out that contrast very well. Without someone like Abbie, this song likely wouldn't have existed in a game like this. With her being your first opponent after waiting on that elevator, the game's tension feels halted. Instead of likely getting one of the most experienced, threatening, competitive, and/or darkest of minds, you are given someone who just treats this like a friendly competition. A vivid mind that mainly seeks the fun and joy of things. However after defeating her, you realize there are likely many people similar to her who become the first to be eliminated from the tournament. This competitive environment is no place for the likes of her. Now the tension only builds more from there. What a great opponent to warm up on before the deadly journey ahead. If you're feeling bad that you may have turned her skies gray after defeating her, don't. She'll find a way to see the sunbeams again. In fact, you may have made a friend after the fun match.
I'm sure they'll do something through the story to me make you play Pandora's levels as an actual stage. Might even be the final boss. Master yourself and all that
i couldn't stop smiling the entire time during this section. like another comment mentioned, i can't help but bob my head with Abbie on the transitions with how fun this song is!! it scratches a cheery-music itch for me and it's totally gonna be stuck in my head a lot now lolol

Honestly dunno how much i like the fact that a lot of people are going "finally a happy and cute character who isnt secretly depressed/has trauma". Its just completely ignoring how a part of her character is that she *does* have those dark and depressing days but she tries to focus on being positive and happy with the help of her friend and the things she enjoys in life. And that she misses her friend because she cant see them right now. Like this is all so beautifully shown in the gameplay and music, its honestly really emotioanlly touching to hear a song about how even when things are dark you can still keep going. Every time i get to the part of the song for the boss stage i tear up a little at "even during all the bad days, cloudy skies cant stop the sun rays" Its so amazing and honestly touches me a lot and it feels like a lot of people are ignoring that to act like shes *solely* this cutesy happy character with nothing else to her
yessss this comment is so true, and her character feels very poignant to me for that EXACT reason, it's that optimism *despite* the sad things. im glad to see someone else bring it up in the comment section (also i tear up during that part of the song too, something about it just hits)
Yesss I love how her character isn't just about always being happy and never being said (nothing wrong with that type of character though), but rather about staying happy and moving forward despite the bad times. Her whole character is based around staying positive despite the bad things that happen and how things can always get better, and it all culminating in her boss stage being her literally climbing up out of a dark pit is such an amazing way to tie it all together. It's so amazing and such a fun take on the sunshine type of character I love her so much @@yeetlejuice7181

Sorry for the long comment. This song is phenomenal. I'm not big on lyrics but there are some exceptions and this is definitely one of them. The composition is perfect. The base, synths, vocals (I didn't realize it was you until I watched you sing it. I was taken aback.), piano, all perfectly support the vibe of this song. My favorite small detail of the song is the very high frequency melody (I can't make out the instrument) that plays at the end of the chorus, like at 1:53 . The song intertwines beautifully with the tonal change in-game. The rise in anxiety as Pandora climbs the elevator for the first time and the black screen with only Pandora's acknowledgement that there is no escape if she wanted one makes it seem like we'll encounter the mind of someone unpredictable and dangerous. But, when the song starts and we see Abbie's warm hearted psyche, it takes the tension and transforms it into a beautiful breath of fresh air and wonder. The transition to the boss phase which enters the final chorus of this song is also an incredible way of finishing the mindwave. I have a personal theory for this song given its lyrics and some dialogue from Abbie. The song is bright and cheerful much like Abbie, and it tries to lift you up from hard times. But it's more than just sympathy, the words come from a place of understanding. I believe this song represents Abbie's sentiment towards her friend who she mentions in her dialogue and who appears in nearly all of her micro games. Her dialogue reveals that she isn't very popular and doesn't get invited to parties, which heavily contrasts with her social personality. This must result in feeling lonely, but she pushes forward anyway. When she meets this friend, they may also be experiencing a similar, if not worse, sense of despair in their life. Their personalities resonate and they support each other. Abbie's mindwave just happens to show us her memories and the perspective she has that allows her to keep going. Thank you for gracing my ears with this masterpiece. I eagerly await the remainder of your work.

This game is such a surprise, as someone that didn't know anything about it, playing it today with friends trying to beat our score, the charming characters and this MUSIC man. This is what art is for man, this is what is all about. Passion projects like this hold an special place in my life.
I don't know what you put in this beautiful song, but I have been listening to it on repeat ever since I found out about Mindwave 4 days ago. The moment Abbie's Microgames began and this song started playing the biggest smile appeared on my face. I was obsessed. Although the Sky is so far off from the musical genre I usually listen to, but it has a beauty to it and a sweet cheeriness I can't get enough of. The lyrics are so carefully written to coincide with Abbie's character, and I really do love how optimistic she is!! It's all so catchy!! The song has such a massive impact to the stage, and it's simply perfect. I'm genuinely so excited for the future tracks that will be coming to Mindwave!! I believe in Mindwave so much. I really want it to win GOTY 💜
Opening this game with childhood innocence, sunshine and rainbows, and sailor moon, probably isn't preparing you for what's to come. I dig it The ultimate power move Edit: 🐟
Listening to this actually made me tear up… It reminded me of the lyrical songs of rhythm heaven and Katamari (probably by design) but it brang me back to the headspace and feelings I felt when I played those games, just this wave of optimistic hope and nostalgia knocked me on my ass. Goddamn this song is so good I can’t wait for this game.
idk how a game perfectly encapuslates everything I love with every theming, artstyle and gameplay type down to a tee. I'm absolutely obsessed with this
I don't know if a demo can make a better first impression. I was floored by everything from the super varied art styles (even within the same set!), the writing seems cool so far, the plot got my brain going "hmm?" and the gameplay is super smooth. 10/10
hearing this in the demo gave me the both the most joy i have felt in a while and one of the highest dopamine rushes because of both the music and the game LOL this is genuinely amazing i love it
This song is unironically clearing all my cloudy skies. It's such a cute vibe for Abbie's sickeningly saccharine mind. I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!
This is legit such a good song, it fits the character, most likely has symbolism, manages to work in the game, while also being enjoyable to listen to on it's own. Serious props to you. Hope you make more for the full release.
I LOVE this song SO so much and I love Abbie too!! This song is just phenomenal. REALLY awesome job! :> Other stuff that I went on for too long about: It (especially with the little intro) reminds me of the demo track that would play on a keyboard my family had when I was a kid, and I mean that in the absolute best possible way because that song was a JAM. I can't remember the brand/make, but I loved the song it played. This song is way better though, and the lyrics are so beautiful :') To me it sounds like the joy and innocence (and nostalgia) of childhood to mid-teen years. In particular, seeing Abbie staying up late playing puyo-puyo with MJ while this song plays is so...evocative. I miss times like that... but this song really encapsulates those times, I think, and I love it for that (and more). Sorry for the seemingly endless praise but like, thank you for making this, haha ^_^ Also, others have commented on this but I REALLY love how despite it obviously being a "happy" song, there's just a tiny bit of melancholy or something there. Those chords are BEAUTIFUL dude!!! I would try to explain but the lyrics kind of do that on their own. "Even during all the bad days Cloudy skies cant stop the sun rays" for example. Yes there are going to be bad days, but you can choose to focus on the negative, or the positive (like Abbie does!) My favourite part is the Bridge, it's just SO beautiful. Those chords are amazing Also, I love the half-step(?) up at the "Fleeting beauty isn’t silent I know sometimes it really feels that way" parts. So so good. My take on the "Fleeting beauty isn't silent" verse is that it's like cherry blossoms. The actual blossoms don't last very long, but you enjoy the bloom period it while it last. Likewise, you enjoy your childhood while it lasts and have lots of fun. It makes me happy to see Abbie's happy memories with MJ :) The overall feeling I get from this song is of a friend who's always there for you when you need it. The song just exudes a feeling of "I'll always be there for you" to me and that touches my heart. Like you're crying over something bad, but your friend is there to cheer you up and help you look at the positive :') Finally, Abbie (I guess thanks to the game devs) has inspired me to be a more positive person, but I wouldn't have the motivation without this song so thank you. I hope you enjoyed reading this, as I have a habit of writing probably way more than I reasonably need to but I like to get all of my thoughts out
You have no idea how much this song makes me happy, like it legit makes my heart skip a beat and aids my hopelessness. I've been listening to this on repeat for a whole day now, it's like the serotonin booster that I've always needed.
this is the best song of all time, and you think im joking? this is literally the best track i have ever heard in a video game all time. Down to the satisfying chords and rythm, its all perfect
i was already blown away with the presentation of the tutorial and cutscenes but the second this song kicked in for Abbie's stage i knew i had to back this project as soon as the demo ended. i havent been able to pry myself away from the demo. it's a problem. i'm hooked. i'm so stoked for what the full game has in store!

Its so amazing and honestly touches me a lot and it feels like a lot of people are ignoring that to act like shes *solely* this cutesy happy character with nothing else to her
yessss this comment is so true, and her character feels very poignant to me for that EXACT reason, it's that optimism *despite* the sad things. im glad to see someone else bring it up in the comment section
(also i tear up during that part of the song too, something about it just hits)
Yesss I love how her character isn't just about always being happy and never being said (nothing wrong with that type of character though), but rather about staying happy and moving forward despite the bad times. Her whole character is based around staying positive despite the bad things that happen and how things can always get better, and it all culminating in her boss stage being her literally climbing up out of a dark pit is such an amazing way to tie it all together. It's so amazing and such a fun take on the sunshine type of character I love her so much @@yeetlejuice7181

I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR BRINGING JOY TO THIS WORLD
Sorry for the long comment.
I'm really excited because this game is the perfect opportunity to explore multiple musical ideas and genre
We must protect Abby's smile
PROTECC THE ABBI!!!
what a great way to start 2025
Instantly fell in love with this song. I don't remember any of the Wario Ware games always syncing their microgames to the music? This is great!
bro forgor dribble and spitz gba kat and ana gba crygor gba mona twisted ashley touched mike touched dribble and spitz smooth moves jimmy t diy penny get it together and at least two other examples im missing but this is still a very good song
Penny’s Mix in Get It Together, I believe
I was wrong about mike touched i got confused cause he does have a vocal song in touched its just not during his level but the rest are right
@@jknifgijdfuiI assume they were talking about Mindwave syncing stuff happening in the games to the music
WW Gold's final boss also does this. I very distinctly remember that one.
This game went from not on my radar to the most exciting game this year. Also this song is an absolute bop.
I didn't even think this could be a game soundtrack till I saw the comments, I'm amazed by how good this is!
god i needed this song rn
This is such a feel-good nostalgic track. Reminds me of playing games and drawing cartoons without worrying about tomorrow.
This game is such a surprise, as someone that didn't know anything about it, playing it today with friends trying to beat our score, the charming characters and this MUSIC man.
This is what art is for man, this is what is all about. Passion projects like this hold an special place in my life.
@2:15 falsetto always feels high risk, but totally pays off here
This has been stuck in my head for days, it's such a joyful song!
Is not the same feeling without seeing Abby vibin happily
It's like an upbeat Pink Floyd song and I mess with that so hard.
This game is literally some of my two favorite games (Wario ware and Psychonauts), and the music goes HARD! I’m totally kick starting this!
Never has a demo and a song sold me on a game so hard
I can officially say I have a favourite song
@@Pixel_Nathan64 wow! Thank you :)
It’s THAT good bro 😭
why does this get me smiling???
Oh, it’s because Abbie is animated in a joyful way…
That explains it.
Same
I don't know what you put in this beautiful song, but I have been listening to it on repeat ever since I found out about Mindwave 4 days ago.
I knew I was buying this game the second I heard this tune
Opening this game with childhood innocence, sunshine and rainbows, and sailor moon, probably isn't preparing you for what's to come.
I dig it
The ultimate power move
Edit: 🐟
Sailor moon more like madoka magica haha… ha…

Finally.
Pollyanna 2.
this is cute and all but i am very interested in what the future holds
i refuse to believe everybody will be all hunky dory like annie was
Absolutely not i can see this game getting very dark with some of the later levels
Im almost certain that the pro's at Mindwave are either very manipulative people or mentally deranged, it would completely fit the theme.
i'm just happy they didn't lay on it immediately with abbie, they know what theyre doing i think.
Listening to this actually made me tear up…
It reminded me of the lyrical songs of rhythm heaven and Katamari (probably by design) but it brang me back to the headspace and feelings I felt when I played those games, just this wave of optimistic hope and nostalgia knocked me on my ass. Goddamn this song is so good I can’t wait for this game.
idk how a game perfectly encapuslates everything I love with every theming, artstyle and gameplay type down to a tee. I'm absolutely obsessed with this
Already know this game is gonna be a cult classic once it comes out. Heck, it basically already is
I don't know if a demo can make a better first impression. I was floored by everything from the super varied art styles (even within the same set!), the writing seems cool so far, the plot got my brain going "hmm?" and the gameplay is super smooth. 10/10
there must be more musicians, becausehow is this SO good
Just me!
big fan of songs that are just vry positive vibes, had this on loop for a while now lol
I NEED THIS SONG INJECTED INTO MY BLOODSTREAM and hopefully on spotify pretty please
Absolutely incredible. As a long time warioware fan, this was honestly the best warioware-like experience I’ve ever had.
This song actually slaps, I’m hyped for the full game if this is what we’re given for the demo.
Based take AND pfp
Hearing this in-game and playing the level with it made me cry. I've never related to a character and song so much.
hearing this in the demo gave me the both the most joy i have felt in a while and one of the highest dopamine rushes because of both the music and the game LOL this is genuinely amazing i love it
One of the strongest first stages of a game I've ever played. Genuinely incredible work by everyone involved
this song is stuck in my head. how fitting
happiest game i ever played ❤
The music was really one of the things in the first level that blew me away, absolutely incredible and fitting track
blasting this during my next panic attack
Same!
"It's just silly y2k hello kitty girl, dont go crazy with soundtrack"
The 2:26 drop
the drop is fire
This song is unironically clearing all my cloudy skies. It's such a cute vibe for Abbie's sickeningly saccharine mind. I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us!
I played the demo a few days ago, and this music has been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it
This is legit such a good song, it fits the character, most likely has symbolism, manages to work in the game, while also being enjoyable to listen to on it's own. Serious props to you. Hope you make more for the full release.
I LOVE this song SO so much and I love Abbie too!!
This song is just phenomenal. REALLY awesome job! :>
Other stuff that I went on for too long about:
It (especially with the little intro) reminds me of the demo track that would play on a keyboard my family had when I was a kid, and I mean that in the absolute best possible way because that song was a JAM. I can't remember the brand/make, but I loved the song it played. This song is way better though, and the lyrics are so beautiful :')
To me it sounds like the joy and innocence (and nostalgia) of childhood to mid-teen years.
In particular, seeing Abbie staying up late playing puyo-puyo with MJ while this song plays is so...evocative. I miss times like that... but this song really encapsulates those times, I think, and I love it for that (and more).
Sorry for the seemingly endless praise but like, thank you for making this, haha ^_^
Also, others have commented on this but I REALLY love how despite it obviously being a "happy" song, there's just a tiny bit of melancholy or something there. Those chords are BEAUTIFUL dude!!!
I would try to explain but the lyrics kind of do that on their own.
"Even during all the bad days Cloudy skies cant stop the sun rays" for example. Yes there are going to be bad days, but you can choose to focus on the negative, or the positive (like Abbie does!)
My favourite part is the Bridge, it's just SO beautiful. Those chords are amazing
Also, I love the half-step(?) up at the "Fleeting beauty isn’t silent I know sometimes it really feels that way" parts. So so good.
My take on the "Fleeting beauty isn't silent" verse is that it's like cherry blossoms. The actual blossoms don't last very long, but you enjoy the bloom period it while it last. Likewise, you enjoy your childhood while it lasts and have lots of fun. It makes me happy to see Abbie's happy memories with MJ :)
The overall feeling I get from this song is of a friend who's always there for you when you need it. The song just exudes a feeling of "I'll always be there for you" to me and that touches my heart.
Like you're crying over something bad, but your friend is there to cheer you up and help you look at the positive :')
Finally, Abbie (I guess thanks to the game devs) has inspired me to be a more positive person, but I wouldn't have the motivation without this song so thank you.
If I was in the Mindwave tournament all you'd find in my brain would be this song on repeat...
this is the best song of all time, and you think im joking? this is literally the best track i have ever heard in a video game all time. Down to the satisfying chords and rythm, its all perfect
I played the demo, thanks for make this awesome music, i have it stuck in my mind 🔥🔥🔥🔥
track goes so hard with the microgames !!! insanely good work, can't wait to hear what you're cooking. Good luck !!
i was already blown away with the presentation of the tutorial and cutscenes but the second this song kicked in for Abbie's stage i knew i had to back this project as soon as the demo ended.
i havent been able to pry myself away from the demo. it's a problem. i'm hooked. i'm so stoked for what the full game has in store!
2:27 for anyone who wanted just the boss microgame segment
That was beautiful. Especially the part "I know sometimes it really feels that way" followed by the music after.
the style of cartoons remember me to " invader Zim"
I've been rewatching the kickstarter demo just 'cuz this song is so good and it puts me in a good mood
I ADORE the soundtrack for this game!
