A lot of musicians got kind of screwed over when the "vevo" pages start becoming a thing. Basically erased all the views that the videos previously had
Open that door: I'll follow you into that space Where nothing is regretted then forgotten Where is that grace that carries me out? so strange it's mine It wont be, Yesterday when before the day of collapsing And I'll stand through all these lines Just to make it back to you Can you help me every step of the way? We can bury that battle and bury the cause There is nothing that I can say because I was wrong this time Everyone knows cause they see the glare in your eyes Careful now, don't drown yourself ion sorrow I was the one that built that cross and weighed you down. I remember when I raced to buy this album at the store when it came out. Good times. Still have it, and several other albums from my youth, in my truck console. For the memories! Decided to rock out to this album today on the road. Amazing.
The intro drum fill, with the kick, snare and hi-hat is top tier. The way how Chris is stepping on the kick drum is amazing, love how crisp the hi-hat sounds and of course awesome sounding snare.
Come on everyone… Old Norma Jean and new Norma Jean are both incredible. Just because they have changed their sound and gone a different direction doesn't make them bad. I will always be a fan of any Norma Jean, as all of their work is a masterpiece.
Just started getting into these guys. Seeing them at a festival in Copenhagen. Honestly this song just expresses so many strong emotions to me. Not just the lyrics, but the way he delivers them mostly. Truly great! "There is nothing that i can say, because i was wrong this time!"
@Jeremy Steiner, Norma Jean was never "super heavy death metal".. They've always had their own sound, it's slightly changed over the years but it's still Norma Jean.
Damn this is good. Reminds me of the older stuff from thrice. I checked out your other stuff Norma Jean and I'm not disappointed at fucking all. Have a new band to jam to at work guys 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love how he adds a melodic like tone to the vocal styling. That's why I got into this band, due to his vocals. Original singer was more aggressive which is cool & hardcore & shit, I mean the chariot is bad ass, but the Melody Corey adds is awesome
Yeah one of the reasons I dig Norma Jean is that they are low key melodic. Like it seems really harsh and angry but you find yourself humming it later. Cool band.
@@thehurrytheharmI totally agree. I never associated this new stuff to the true norma jean: bless the child. But I do LOVE this sound sound n style as well ..This album n all through the 2022 release is beautiful But JOSH IS NORMA JEAN Period

I have always thought of Norma Jean as, at the very least, an experimental band, at least with regards to metal. To say they change with the times is strange, because I remember enjoying "Redeemer" precisely because, in 2006, it wasn't post-whatever, it still had a ton of sharp metal teeth. They're a band that goes all out for each song and really reaches for something new with each album, and that's change I can believe in. A catalog should encompass a variety of changes, like an organism.
I really hope you got to see them perform Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste because it is an experience like no other, my friend. I saw them live around three weeks ago and it changed my life. I will never forget the audience chanting “ONE MORE SONG! ONE MORE SONG” and Norma Jean coming back harder than ever to play that song.
2020 and i still can't get over his voice.
Yesssssss
Still here.

Now it's 2022
Love your pfp
Masterpiece of an album. 41 yo here. Will listen forever.
how does this video not have millions of views from all the lost kids who listened to this song in the early/mid 2000s????
A lot of musicians got kind of screwed over when the "vevo" pages start becoming a thing. Basically erased all the views that the videos previously had
Because we listen in the shadows. We're still here.
I think the video only being uploaded in 2010 might have something to do with it

Guitarist of BMTH openly credits this band as his greatest influence
This song got me through a 15 month deployment. Thank you for making music.
God bless you sir
Thank you for your service sir

Morgan McNeill sends chills up my neck, to this day.
As a new listener, one of my favorite songs of theirs, I love this album.
Forever will this will live on.

Still listen to this album almost daily. Long live the kings. Norma Jean

I believe the lyric is "bury the battle and marry the cause"
Thankyou
No other band has given me as many out of body experiences as Norma Jean has.
The Almighty Norma Jean
Liam Jacob If you haven't yet, check out Silent Planet. Those guys are out of this world.

2023 still listening!!! fire :D

Has to be one of the most catchiest chorus ever
this whole album is great
Great song! Giving me goosebumps listening to it in '21. These guys did a kick a$$ show in Houston back in the day
The intro drum fill, with the kick, snare and hi-hat is top tier.
The way how Chris is stepping on the kick drum is amazing, love how crisp the hi-hat sounds and of course awesome sounding snare.
Cheers for the quality upload - your fans from 2005
underrated. legendary.
Come back and listen again friend

I grew up a few towns away from 'em. Good dudes!
awesome song and video great music
My first Norma Jean song is Robots: 3, Humans: 0. That was my favorite metalcore song of 2006. But, we're total headbangers, my friends.
its actually 2008
the drums in this one are so sweet
Prob going to have this shown in my middle school class for a project. Thumbs up for exposing beliebers to the Normachine.
I haven't listened to this band in forever, glad i came across them again :)
I Still love this song ♥
I love Cory's vocals in this song.
Remaster! Come on guys!
Still my favorite band
ALL HAIL!! 🙌
@Jeremy Steiner, Norma Jean was never "super heavy death metal".. They've always had their own sound, it's slightly changed over the years but it's still Norma Jean.
listen to Thrice - Image Of The Invisible
Aaron Conlin it's like Converge, unbelievably abrasive yet manages to not fit in as metal quite right
You do realize UnderOATH was heavier before "They're Only Chasing Safety" right? Back when Dallas did vocals.
Cove smashed this song. love it!
My favorite song by them is Surrender Your Sons, part of it due to the fact that Chino Moreno of Deftones guest sings on it.
Damn this is good. Reminds me of the older stuff from thrice. I checked out your other stuff Norma Jean and I'm not disappointed at fucking all. Have a new band to jam to at work guys 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Why not jam in your car??? Because my CD player is a damn peice of shit that's why.
Definitely getting Thrice vibes

2021 ! I was way to young to young when this song came out. But im happy to be listening to it now.
Love how he adds a melodic like tone to the vocal styling. That's why I got into this band, due to his vocals. Original singer was more aggressive which is cool & hardcore & shit, I mean the chariot is bad ass, but the Melody Corey adds is awesome
My exact thoughts I've always said the same thing it's very refreshing to have actual melodies
Yeah one of the reasons I dig Norma Jean is that they are low key melodic. Like it seems really harsh and angry but you find yourself humming it later. Cool band.
This sucks compared to Bless the Martyr
But I hate how every album is getting softer and softer. 5 years and they'll have The Beach Boys looking heavy in comparison.
softer, they are still heavy as fuck . go see a Norma Jean show
just another great song from the greatest band ever
i dont even know how this could be melodic and how could i like it but i do!
I feel you. Cory is Norma Jean! End of story. He has kept that ship floating this whole time hes been in the band and I am so grateful that he has.
Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child is better than any album released after
@@thehurrytheharm lol no bud
@@thehurrytheharm the mixing and production get better after Bless and O God. Redeemer can blew away them with its mixing i would say.

i love this song
This song is awesome
Great.
PERFECTO
See them live earlier this year, they still kick some serious asses.
Listened to these guys in middle school. I'm 33 now. Where did the time go??
I have always thought of Norma Jean as, at the very least, an experimental band, at least with regards to metal. Chris Raines! He hits them so hard
