#NormaJean #DeathrattleSingForMe
This is gona be the best norma jean album until the next norma jean album.
I’ve literally said that with every album since Redeemer lol they just get better
Always is
Haven't heard it yet, does it beat all hail because god that was great
Honestly, it’s such a testament to how talented Cory is - unbelievably consistent, but always evolving. This album rules!
@@coreyw5981 it's close... but I dont know. Needs more time to set in I think. All hail was a masterpiece
How does a band just NEVER SUCK? Norma Jean needs to hold classes so other bands would stop releasing crap. Their new album just grabs you by the throat from the beginning track "1994" and never lets up. So hyped to be seeing them TONIGHT!!!! Can't wait.
Do you know any other bands with a similar raw sound?
@@ydg7774
Darkest Hour…
…in places anyway
Damn, humanity doesn't deserve this band, so many years of great music without any disappointment. Freaking awesome guys as always.
Norma Jean continues to prove their the most underrated metal band of all time. Absolutely incredible work. Record after record.
The crazy part is there are no original members left. Cory has really carried this band to the max. I loved the 1st album, don't get me wrong. But every album after just kept getting better and better. Norma Jean is hands down my favorite band.
The album is just another unique piece of music history.
Textures, rawness, emotional carnage, passionate art. It is just sooo good to be able to hear something that honest with great sense of urgency.
Amen Jack 🙏
Sometimes the pain you are trying to chase away is the pain you’re more comfortable with.
If you want I'll scream into a microphone for 4 minutes and sell it to you. I'll even make it sound urgent, artsy and all that stuff. I think it will be good for your emotional regulation, I promise.
@@Ben86511 Honestly, there is much more than that. Most of the metalcore vocalists are screaming, but Cory has that emotional urgency, that i can hear rarely in other vocalists. The vocals on Redeemer are just emotional carnage and apart from other NJ albums and first two Slipknot albums, i can´t recall any kind of album with the same intensity on vocals.
A future classic!
Any suggestions on other bands that have this type of raw sound? Having a hard time finding similar bands.
Lyrics:
Love in the time
Secondhand social passage
A scripted interaction
Conversation is truly random
Threshing at the end
And shaking like a rushing vein
This is the introduction now
Graven effigy, rendered before every eye
Do your work with the desolate
Broken before the providence, every saint
Can you feel the lashing of the death sail?
Visions of war
Oh, there’s no interest in pleasing the ones looking for
Searching ways to misunderstand
You
Gutter press talk shows and you don’t know me
Testimony
But I could never understand myself
You can’t know every bruise I’ve bought
But I know what you’re paying out to rake up its rot
No reverence for life or limb
But I would never disrespect the legacy they held
Pressure mends if you apply it or fall beneath it
Prisons and graveyards are filled with heads that wore the crown
Whisper me a killing word
I will find you in the darkness
In the darkness, everlasting
Spitting fire and brimstone at every turn
I see everything, I see everything
Hail the restless, the ranks and to all that are starved
We’ll come back to, to accelerate
Floor it all to the ground
You can’t know every bruise I’ve bought
You can’t know every bruise I’ve bought
You can’t know every bruise I’ve bought
You can’t know every bruise I’ve bought (We don’t know ourselves)
You can’t know every bruise I’ve bought (We don’t know our)
You can’t know every bruise I’ve bought
But I know what you’re paying out to rake up its rot
No reverence for life or limb
But I would never disrespect the legacy they held
Pressure mends if you apply it or fall beneath it
Prisons and graveyards are filled with heads that wore the crown
This is the killing word
Whisper to me a killing word
Yeah
Whisper to me a killing word
any interpretations yet?
@@stang1973 It means fug this shiz. Stop shizzing on each other.
@@stang1973 "My name is a killing word. MUAD'DIB!" - David Lynch's DUNE
Thanks, I read somewhere that Corey never intends his lyrics to be over analyzed and he sometimes just writes abstract imagery. Even though ALL HAIL had a definitive theme. I love it
@@stang1973 Corey, as this other person said, may not intend for people to over analyze but he got some grief a couple years back for some things he said on social as the last album cycle was ramping up. The lyrics here seem awfully specific to not in some way be in defense of himself in that situation.
You have a great fashion sense!
Only the best! Thanks for the inspirational content when I needed it - Hmu when it’s time for that metal themed video. 🙌
This is a common interest I was definitely not expecting.
@@chokovok7231 😂 love that.
The most ambitious cross-over of all time ❤
Anything Summoning Salt Comments on means only one thing: it measures up to greatness.
I haven't listened to Norma Jean in years and on a whim I looked them up. This came up and its a banger!!
Havnt heard them in like 15+ years wasnt dissapointed
Check out "Landslide Defeater"
Haha same
Welcome back ❤
Dafuq. You guys have a lot of listening to do. So much good stuff. I'll never forget this band. I could have alzheimers when I'm old and I'll be muttering the lyrics.
Every NJ album is just putting the whole genre on blast. Every time.
Cory’s vocal performance on all of the choruses in this album is so unique. And I love the new choking scream that he incorporates into a few of the breakdowns. ❤️
Funny, the first time I ever heard one of those "choking" screams was by none other than Josh Scogin when norma Jean was starting out as Luti-Kriss. Go look up "Light Blue Collar" and wait for the breakdown. He learned from the master!!
@@massaj88 that’s an awesome call back! I never listened to Luti-kriss but that’s sweet
That's fucking AWESOME. Not many bands have been this consistently great for 20 years!
Not even the Deftones!
@@sd5458 That's a heavy statement. Good comparison though.
I live every Norma Jean album since Redeemer. They are second to none. But i have never seen anything like the first 3 singles released so far. This is next level. I cant wait for this to drop!
They've come through my town twice in Spokane WA. Once in some dude's back yard in dogtown Hillyard as a 'fuck it we'll play here between Seattle and Boise last min' on their Wrongdoers tour. And the other on the 20th anniversary of Redeemer where they played the record front to back in a dive bar downtown. Fucking legendary. Monsters.
It is already out, nice album
I liked every album before redeemer , this song is ok.sleep explosion is a little better
Original drummer was a better Norma Jean. Now they sound radio.
@@nikolaell yeah, i post this the morning before it was released. Its amazing. 👍
The double bass at 4:14?!! Are you freakin kidding me!!!!
The world is a better place with Norma Jean in it
Been blasting NJ ever since they were still Luti-Kriss and I have zero regrets.
It's magical and just keeps getting better and better, heavier and heavier with each passing record.
Dang, boys!
hell yeah Luti-Kriss
Man I'm getting old. Luti-kriss has it really been over 25yrs.
@@bradleywilliams1615 why'd you have to go and say that?
@@kenkeller No lie though it does keep getting better.
I'm 43 and saw Luti-Kriss at Cornerstone 99. They have been very consistent over the years.
Jesus how is this band still so good?? It's ridiculous how consistent they continue to be after so many years.
I will never not love Norma Jean, they truly inspired my love for heavy music unlike any other band, there are alot of bands I like, but nothing, NOTHING, quite sounds like Norma Jean, they continue to be one of the most unique sounding bands in the heavy music scene
They just deliver what we have always dreamed of.. thank you guys for bringing light in this hell of an obscure world.
We got you.
I swear this band can’t ever do any wrong. Been a long time fan, and I swear even with all the lineup changes over the years, every piece of music they put out still has that core Norma Jean sound everyone can recognize. Absolute legends man
100%
That's one of the MANY reasons they're my favorite band.
It's not about the lineup. It's about the band itself. The band itself has taken on its own form.
I absolutely LOVE that about them. Not despite of, but because of the lineup changes.
@@ericchin739 late reply, but very well said. It’s amazing how many bands change their sound completely different, whether over the years, due to member changes, or sometimes both, but in this instance, even with both, Norma just has had their own sound that hasn’t drastically changed at all over the years. It’s a sound that really is i instantly recognizable, no matter whether it’s newer or older music, you can just hear it and go “yup, that’s Norma for sure”.
Its crazy that every few years i revisit norma jean to hear the old shit that i grew up loving. Only to be blown away by their new shit. Looking forward to seeing them in a month.
Oh...oh fuck. This is gonna be the best album in NJ history..
After 25 yrs these NJ still has it. Insane
I have never heard a band that is this consistently mind-blowing and face melting. The level of happiness and emotional content I have right now is honestly beyond words. Killing words or otherwise.
They have never made a bad song. That isn't something I have never said about any other band. Bar none, Norma Jean are the greatest metal band of all time.
Norma Jean does not disappoint! 😎😎😎
I completely lost these guys, I was SO INTO them and Emery. Got back into both of em today. WOW have I MISSED THESE GUYS.
How does this band release banger after banger after banger for like 20 years. Absolutely incredible.
New NJ, New Slipknot, New FFAK! What a great time to be a fan of hardcore music
I opened for these guys back in 2014, they crushed then and crush on now!
A couple years ago, something reminded me of Norma Jean when I hadn't even thought about them or heard them since The Anti Mother(2008) an album I wasn't crazy about but it had a few tracks I liked.
So I check their Spotify and I see they're still making music. Thats cool. Lemme check out All Hail real quick.
HOLY FUCK.
It was particularly jarring for me going over a decade without hearing them. I can't believe the sound that they've crafted, the identity they've solidified. It's fucking incredible and this album furthers their amazing evolution
Fucking love All Hail
Man.. I just listen to this and I.. just don't believe it.. this song is soooo powerfull, but has so much soul at the same time. Wow... Just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song is perfectly structured. I'm also heavily fucking enjoying the bigger presence of double bass on this album lol.
I’ve been listening to this song several times daily. It is amazing.
Been here since Bless the Martyr & Kiss the Child. Can't wait to hear thee new album. This band only gets better.
This is officially the first song I have ever heard by Norma Jean. I am thoroughly impressed.
They have so many amazing albums. Enjoy!
You've been in a coma for twenty years.
Oh man. Welcome! My favorite NJ album is Redeemer. Check it out.
@@robertcarranza7188 finally getting around to starting the new album. Haven’t listened to a song of theirs since I made this comment. Gonna make that my project now lol
All hail is my favorite! If you're anything like me you'll appreciate the dirty tone in guitar and Cory's voice in that album!
Norma jean has always been one of my favorite bands. I been listening to them since the lutikriss days.
The music sucks after bless the martyr when they kicked out their lead singer for Corey. Now the Chariot is king. This is just palatable shit that sounds like a thousand other bands
This band is criminally underrated and I love them so much. Come to the UK pretty pretty please
Summoning Salt hoodie, fuck yeah
Norma Jean... been listening to you guys for 20 years now. You guys are still killing it, keep it up and stay rockin 💪
Same same! All Hail NJ!
Amazing band, great drummer.
Norma Jean is just, Norma Jean....................... They're So goood. Always heavy, always their style. Keep it going Norma Jean. Loved you guys since for 10 plus years. I'm a supporter. Keep it up Norma Jean.
I love this dudes voice so much
No original members left. Band is still alive.
Norma Jean's been king of the hill as long as I've known em. Never gonna fall.
Friken incredibleeeeeeeeee WOW🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Love this band
Norma Jean Forever
After all this time yall are still bringing the nastiest riffs. Norma Jean forever. ✌️
From Luti-Kriss to NJ to the many different band members, I have loved every single second!!! Another absolute Banger!!!There is NO ONE with the ability to evolve with each album but still have enough of the "NJ Factor" that always hits. I love, love, love you guys and will FOREVER! I can't wait to be 65 years old and show my grandkids the archives. I am so excited about the upcoming show in Houston. Can't wait! See y'all then!!!!
Certified banger! What a way to start the day.
kings. put some respect on this name. years of greatness.
Holy shit Norma Jean ! All hail! All hail!
i was introduced to this band at a church function in 2006 and been a fan ever since.
An Arkansas boy made it big. LONG LIVE THE ALMIGHTY NORMA JEAN
They just don’t miss.
I love this song and i love Cory repping the Summoning Salt shirt lol
Matt Turk is in this video.
@@normajean 😂 how am i not surprised!
@@Klayblub12 😂😂😂
That double bass at the end.... so rad
One of those rare instances where I will forgo sleep because I didn’t want to stop listening, I fucking love this album. 10/10 guys!
So better and better aaand SOO MUCH BETTER all the time NEVER BEEN DISAPOINTED 🤘🤘😉
Didn't think All Hail could be topped, yet here we are.
I permanently damaged my hearing at a Norma Jean concert in Colorado back in 2011. Glad to hear them making awesome music again haha
Hometown Crew has done an amazing job matching the visuals of Norma Jean's music videos to their iconic raw energy. Beautiful work from the band AND the crew that helped with the music video.
: ' )
You people are maniacs. It's not that I ever doubt you, it's just so improbable that every new record is so great after a catalogue of such great records. This track is insane and the video? Sheesh. What an experience.
Thanks for sharing! Stoked to get into the album today!
This band always been good and still AT the top Man!🔥🔥🔥
Love this.
Ready to see them live this thursday, can't wait!!!
ENJOY THEM,A WHOLE BUNCH!!
still the greatest
So many contrasts -brooding yet joyous, chaotic and calm, savage but soulful, no one does it quite like the almighty Norma Jean!
That chorus is one of the best this year
Let me just say what everyone else is thinking.
yyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
They sound absolutely MASSIVE this album wow this is great
Norma Jean is infinite!
This is the (best) for me; have followed them from the 1st one. Mighty track Norma Jean.
Man I wish my friends were obsessed with this song as I am!
you guys are really spoiling us with a 4th single... excited for the album, I'll be listening at 12:01
This one has that wonderful All Hail vibe. I love it.
Thank you for still being a band.
NJ is always great
This band is my discovery of the year. This song as well, it's something else man!
They get better and better and better .. seriously this band never disappoints
Yo! This is the best track I think they have ever put out! Holy shit!
Norma Jean still jamming out? Hell yeah!
Holy Moses that is sheer brilliance.
This riff is serious as hell. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I dont understand why this was not a lead single for the record. I'm glad you guys made a banger video for it, but dude... this shit SLAPS SO HARD!
Damn... This is good...
Cory rocking the Summoning Salt merch may be the most punk rock thing in this whole video. This absolutely rips.
Absolute fire.
God God almighty, that’s magnificent!!!
whoa
Loving what I'm hearing, like I have for over a decade now. These boys don't disappoint.
What a song, dense, heavy, melodic, incredible. NORMA JEAN is insane.
oh my god the riff at 1:24 TEARS
that breakdown at the end might be my favourite NJ breakdown ever. this record is so good!
Norma Jean always a good idea
I missed this kind of Norma Jean, love it
This is my favorite song on the new album. Great video but I was really hoping to see the drummer on the fast double bass part at the end!
This is album of the year. No debating.
🤘🤘 soul uplifting
Full of energy!
