Therapist here: Rami’s performance here is maybe my favorite representation of repressed trauma being accessed I’ve ever seen. To yalls point trauma therapy is really important and Krista is exactly right that certain conditions need to be met for it to be successful otherwise you run a huge risk of retraumatizing the client and doing much more damage. Which is exactly what happens in this episode. Weirdly Vera is exactly right in everything he says but because we know his motivations it’s him just re-establishing himself as Elliot’s new abuser. This is a top episode for me for a lot of reasons.
Is it just me or is it a bit like the "good cop/bad cop" routine? I.e. first traumatizing and instilling fear/trauma and then presenting support and an escape route from that fear/trauma as a way to gain trust? This might be an over-simplified version of what you just described, but that is pretty much how I perceived the manipulation of Vera to be. Is what you described the same kind of psychological "game" from your professional opinion?

@@wickedymike I love that Barry episode too for similar reasons. Abuse can be super complicated and nuanced while a lot of people want to label it as black or white. Victims of abuse often truly do love their abusers which makes it really hard to explain to people the complex dynamics at work.
Eight year old Elliot telling his father he's "just sick and doesn't want to admit it", his aversion to being touched (specifically by other men), the first five minutes of the series showing Elliot destroy a pedophile's life, the doctor asking Elliot's parents to leave the room when he was taken to the hospital after the window incident. It was right there. The whole time. Elliot has been unconsciously reacting to his father's abuse since before we even met him! I'd also just like to add that a lot of people took Vera's actions as "trying to help" Elliot when that is not at all true. Krista herself said it's not supposed to work this way. Confronting your biggest trauma all at once instead of building up to it with the help of a professional is very dangerous, and Vera's actions prove it. Elliot is basically catatonic by the end of the episode. He may know the truth, but the way he found out has left him much worse off.
Exactly, Vera wanted to break Elliot just to be close to him and be seen as a supporting person, that's manipulation and it's already far from helping. Then, as you said, he goes against the therapist's course of action. He probably believes he's actually helping Elliot, but that's an ignorant perspective from someone who believes he can do a therapist's job better than the actual therapist
Whoever thought Vera was helping him needs help. This is worse than Walter White by season 5 defenders. Sure, Mr. Robot was a hard case for Elliot to workout without some major help. But now all this left him is broken, and Vera wanted to use that to make him dependent. He has to carry that weight all at once and alone now to reconcile it instead of bit by bit, shouldering it with Krista.

@@LaMiGrAFrAnK keep in mind the whole show is taking place from Elliot's perspective. _He_ thinks he was making no progress and kind of viewed his therapist as sort of lost. And yet, we knew before the vigilante personality they _did_ change some of the behaviors it brought back. We know Elliot's views on himself are brought by self-delusion and erased memories (he forgot his own sister, and remembered his father but forgot his facd.) And most importantly, his therapist had him pegged as being a child sex abuse victim months before she revealed it, as she was working toward it with him while he still believed she was mostly ignorant yet still wanted her help. I believe Elliot's DID believed he would never get to that point. Not for a second do I believe that his therapist wouldn't have worked him up to it and eventually help him understand himself.
From a comment that I once read. These 5 Acts correspond with the stages of grief: Stage 1: Denial - Elliot is in denial about the whole situation Stage 2: Anger - Mr. Robot goes in on Vera Stage 3: Bargaining - Elliot bargains for Krista's life Stage 4: Depression - The whole twist Stage 5: Acceptance - Vera helped him accept what happened
He exists to protect Elliot, then you remember that time in Jail when he went into a sitcom to avoid facing that Craig Robinson and the jail guys were beating him up and Mr Robot ate that for him. The worst part is when you realize that Elliot's ultimate protector, Mr Robot has the face of his ultimate monster, his father. Realizing that you have to look at them as two separate entities is so wild to me.
I'm a survivor of this shit too. I too had "that talk" through therapy that helped me realise what I'd been through. I was molested. Even just to type those 3 words has taken a lot out of me. Most of the time when I watch material pertaining to this subject matter, including in this show, I'm able to emotionally distance myself. This took me off guard, got under my skin. I was saying "no no no" hoping that it wasn't going to be the revelation it was going to be. I am fucking heartbroken over this episode. It's taking me several minutes to collect myself between sentences just to try and write this out, but I need people to know that if you're lucky enough to have not gone through this, don't ever take it for granted. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, not even those who perpetrate the crime. Anyone else who's been through this, I got your back. I don't know what else to say. I wish I could make a more eloquent point. It's just so fucking painful.
i was able to distance myself when it would be depicted aswell. but this episode got me, chilling, it made me physically ill and i threw up after the episode finished. i really wanted elliot and his father's relationship to just be normal. i didn't want to think too much about the window or why he acted like that in the theater. very few pieces of media get me like this, it's like 3 movies i cant sit through again for hitting way too close. this episode is no different.
The pain you went through cannot be put into any words, eloquent or not. By expressing yourself like you did here, you release more of that pain you endured. And moreover, you allow others to face the same pain they may be holding in as well and allow them to share in the strength you have found within yourself.
Act 4 is one of the cruelest scenes I've ever seen. It's not shocking, you know something horrible is coming, but it just keeps going and going, it shows you the whole process, and even the most distracted viewer will realize the twist before the scene is even close to end... so excruciating.
I suspected that Elliot was a victim of that type of abuse since very early on in season one. The clues were there: Elliot was a sort of crusader taking down s*xual abusers of children (Ron from Ron's coffee in season 1, Ray and the dark web traffickers in season 2, Freddy Lomax in season 4); he couldn't stand to let specifically men touch him; dissociative identity disorder is said to typically appear in instances of extreme abuse or torture, usually of a s*xual nature. I just didn't suspect it was at the hands of his own father until later on. Edward made me feel uneasy the way he spoke to young Angela during the going away party for her mother in season 3. He was dressed and behaving in an almost childlike manner and the way Angela said "Is Elliot here, Mr. Alderson?" raised red flags about him for me. He just seemed off to me and I added that to my list of reasons for suspecting that something was done to Elliot when he was a child. Also, I wanted to mention that I believe that from the moment Mr. Robot took over during the window event, he remained in control all the way until after Elliot's father's death. Young Elliot was Mr. Robot in the movie theater scene, and in season 1 when Elliot first tells Mr .Robot the story of the window incident (right before Mr. Robot pushes him off the pier), he said that his father never spoke to him again after pushing him out the window. But he only thinks that's the case because he lost all that time to Mr. Robot taking over. Obviously his father did speak to him; he was speaking to him in the movie theater.
@@lorrainecasey749it would make sense since Elliot tells Mr. Robot that from then on his father never talked or even looked at him even until death. When we can see that wasn't at all true.

When I watched Ozymandias for the first time I was sure nothing would ever beat it, Then Mr robot came around. This episode is a masterpiece and it will go down in history as one of the greatest works of Art ever created.
@@kdizzle901 The succession ep was no where near close to the level of this and ozymandias The script was pretty avg and most of the ep was just people reacting to the news of logan dying. Honestly, it was one of the most overhyped tv episodes of all times. It was a good episode,im not even denying that. A solid 8.5/10 ,but it was not a masterpiece
@@nikhildubey8337 Actually ozymandias is THE most overhyped episode in human history. It was a good ep., nothing WOW... no emotions, nothing memorable.
This "twist" was shocking for most people but I always suspected it. I'm a psychologist, and usually DID is related to CSA, but tbh this episode's execution was SO perfect, you're always so perceptive and always know exactly where to put your attention. If you ever do a re watch of the show (which I highly recommend) you'll see how perfectly planned this was. On another side... This episode also helped me cope with my own CSA, this shit changes you, distorts how you perceive life and yourself. Damage the way that you interact with everything in your life. This episode was very triggering but at the same time it pushed me to search for help myself.
I almost don't wanna watch reactions to this episode because then I have to vicariously relive the dread. But man is it amongst the best eps of tv ever made. Act 4 is...what... 8 minutes? It feels like 30. My hands were shaking and when the lights go out to credits I was unable to do anything or think of anything else for at least an hour. Props to USA Network for airing another episode commercial-free. They picked a hell of an episode to do it for.
Krista would not be in any danger of going to jail for killing Vera. The thugs were inside of her home, they had guns, and it would be very easy for forensics to tell from the ligature marks on her arms and legs that she had been tied up. Also she's a respected psychiatrist with probably a long history of service, and Vera obviously had a criminal record No court would ever convict her, nor would any DA even attempt to prosecute her.
We finally arrived at this point. Wow. What an amazing episode of TV. The acting, music, directing. It pains me that Season 4 of Mr Robot had the lowest ratings, because this is amazing TV.
There were clues throuout the show about what his father did to him. For example, Elliot tells his dad "You're sick!", or when his father says " This can be our little secret" and "Don't tell your mother about this", also throughout the show Elliot doesn't like when people touched him at he was always avoidant. Sam did an amazing job with this show!!
The lighting in this episode is a masterpiece in of itself... The transition from day to night, with the lightning strikes at appropriate times. Just amazing.
as someone who has had a similar experience in childhood, while distressing, this episode felt so therapeutic to watch and to cry along with. it breaks my heart everytime.
Absolute masterpiece. I mean what can I say that you and everyone else hasn’t said already. This is definitely one of the best episodes of television of all time. Everything absolutely perfect. Acting performances on another level. Everyone deserves an award for this episode alone. Krista, Elliot, Mr Robot, and of course Vera. This episode executes the reveal so flawlessly. The music, the act structure, the camera work, the entire episode feeling like a play on a stage, the building storm; this episode kept it “💯 👍 👍” And how poetic that Vera is killed with the same knife that he used to kill Shayla. And Krista is the best. Honestly what a superhero. Love her to death as a character she is so wonderful. It’s hard to pick favorites in a show where ever actor gives an absolutely astonishing performance, but I think Vera is one of my favorites in terms of how well his actor plays him. Such a captivating character Can’t wait for you guys to see where the ride continues to take us from here 😊
I've seen many horrors in my life, for movies to gore videos on the internet. Yet this is the episode that makes my breathing shaky; stomach on the edge of puking; hand shakey; and eyes filled with tears. This episode just fucking hurts you, man.
I find it weird how some people in the fandom thought Vera was helping Elliot. That isn’t true because why would Elliot want to associate with a man that SA’d and later on killed Shayla? He wanted to control and use him from the start, we can see from s1 that Vera had an obsession with our protagonist. People like Krista and Darlene want to help Elliot, and Krista did just that in this episode while Vera just wasted a few crocodile tears and wanted to bring the worst out in Elliot.
side note but i love how Esmail relates HTTP status codes to each episode in a deep way. it's not just "haha it starts with 4 and its season 4" but the actual title of the error code does fit the episode even if its minor. in 407, it's proxy authentication. and, think about it. "authentication" in this case could mean you're trying to access something restricted. something locked down. something like elliot's memory of the event. something that needs the right authorization to grant yourself into it. and who's authorized, in a sense? it's the therapist. the therapist which acts as a proxy. a middle man between elliot's memory and Vera. Vera authenticated into the proxy, the therapist, and in turn got access into a closed network: Elliot's deep trauma.
Worst part is Vera summed up almost every violent incel/stalker/abuser towards Elliot. Even worse is that his whole life Elliot was treated like object his whole life by most toxic men.
For me Ozymandias doesn't even come close to this episode, artistically, dramatically, in every aspect, this episode is revolutionary, it needs to be dissected and studied.
@@imadterkmani3736 Because Lola said that for her both episodes are on the same level, while for me it isn't, so I gave my opinion in the comment section, what's wrong with that?😅
I love how when the episode starts you can laugh at it like " oh please Vera, you are no spiritual guru", " Oh they are making it look like a play? How long can this gimmick last" and by the end you are so emotionally destroyed and riveted that Vera getting stabbed shocks you and you are emotionally conflicted because besides everything, Vera was providing real comfort and he was the ONLY person who could help Elliot in that moment, then he dies? What!!!! Ultimate way to end the episode. Perfect fucking episode, Lola is right , it's up there with Ozymandias , Hero from AOT as the best single episode of TV ever!
vera wasn’t helping elliot tho, the whole point of his baseball story and the words ‘i see you now’ are to show he’s a manipulator. he completely shattered both the bully and elliot to make them vulnerable and then ‘build them up’ and act like a friend to get what he wanted e.g a partner, power and money with Elliot. that’s why Krista stabbed him, so his trauma doesn’t get used for Vera’s gain. Vera is an amazing character and the fact a section of the fanbase believe he was trying to help Elliot shows how he even manipulated the audience along with Elliot
@@tcm2367exactly. Vera wasn't "the only one who can help him." He broke him! Not only did we see how he was traumatized again, saying he can't bear it, and saying he can't live with it, but Vera stated that he wanted to break him.
I feel it’s more complicated. He was using Elliot, yes. However, it was through the struggle of realization from Elliot he truly cared for him and the fragility of Elliot’s position.
Vera was always talking about destiny, I think his was to help Elliot to know the truth. Krista said to Elliot to stay away from her. Vera was the one that brought them together again.Elliot wouln't have known the truth about Mr. Robot if it wasn't for Vera kidnapping Krista. At the very moment he fulfilled his "destiny" when he says "I see you now" to Elliots he gets killed.
Yea, ladies. That's the episode. I was high when I was watching it for the first time. It blew my mind in different kind of aspects. 1 - it was staged and shot like a theatrical performance. Loved it, like I was in the first row. 2 - the acting of Vera's character is outstanding. Props to him. 3 - the reveal of the roots was masterfully brought to the audience after all the intensity during the previous acts.
This episode destroyed me. But at the same time it was perfect, the execution, the soundtrack, the direction, the acting. The actor who plays Vera is fucking amazing, Krista, Rami. The perfect Episode. Is up there with breaking bad's ozymandias and Hannibal's mitzumono.
It's a slight shame perhaps that you guys keyed into this before the episode (but also really impressive!). I can't begin to describe how that twist hit me who wasn't expecting it.
I hated Vera for so long in Mr Robot. However, this episode added so much more depth to his psyche. A man struggling with his trauma wanting another to help him. He knows the pain that he inflicts and the drugs he partakes in will do him nothing. It’s only when he find common ground and understanding between him and someone as hurt as him he feels as if he can move forward. It’s profoundly disturbing but understandable and saddening. 10/10 best episode of any tv show of all time
I have been waiting for this moment since you started watching the series. This single episode of TV is more powerful than entire drama series even aspired to be.
It has a cult following though and I do think it will age well. It's gonna be spoken about a lot more in 10 years when people look back at the great TV in the past. And to be fair, it's basically a modernday cyberpunk show without people even realizing. It deals with the typical themes in cyberpunk in much greater detail and hits way closer to home than many people would like to admit or think about. As the years and technology progresses and people become more introspective, it will become even more relevant.
Hands and hat down for one of the best episodes in television history. Thanks Sam Esmail, thanks Rami Malek and thanks to the rest of the cast and crew for a masterpiece. That's what happens when cinema becomes art.
Initially I thought why Vera storyline came into this season when whiterose and other important plotlines are going on. But, Vera played a role to discover the origin on Mr Robot in this episode
This is genius at work.. I rated this episode 10/10 on IMDB when I saw it all those years ago and I went back to IMDB after watching your reaction video to make sure my rating was saved...
As for watching it live... Watched the ENTIRE show live on USA network when it aired. No, I had no idea this episode was coming nor the twist with the father. This episode was so fantastic though that I immediately bought the whole season in HD on Amazon and rewatched the episode immediately. Mostly for the acting, editing, set design, dialog, etc. and how perfect it was. I really think this could be made into an amazing real Broadway play with just this episode and a couple other Prologue scenes.
It's crazy, I'm rewatching the show and I don't remember this episode at all. I did what Elliot did lol. Now that scene in the theater where his dad collapses and Elliot doesnt care makes so much more sense.
1:10:00 This reaction reminds me why I love LM so much. All this time, I thought Vera was trying to help Elliot, maybe because I was so horrified by the truth. But now it makes more sense when Vera said: "You become the storm", he wanted Elliot to become a monster like him. God, I love Lola. I have asked her many times to marry me, but she refuses to give me an answer.
This is a GEM of episode and since that episode it was not one episode of any series that can get to that point... Until Barry... trust me, Barry right now have a uniqued and incredible gems, last season right now is 3/3 great episodes.
it's 11 PM where i live and i have to wake up 5 AM to go to work but i had to watch the reaction for this episode, which is, to me, the best of this show great reaction like always girls
Does anybody else think that it should have been Elliot that killed Vera? Like when they're sitting by the fireplace at the end: The camera suddenly focuses on Elliot, no sound, you see something turn in Elliot's eyes, sound returns as suddenly he lunges at Vera. Pushing him over, Elliot grabs something heavy which was on the table, now on the floor. The camera focuses on Elliot on top of Vera, who is on the floor just outside the camera, Elliot is smashing the object into Vera's head like it's weightless. Suddenly he stops and gets off of Vera's body and goes into full psychological shutdown. I mean, Vera did set it up personally, "He barks alot, but he ain't the bite", "I'm more scared of you than him", "That's when you become the storm, and it's the rest of the world that needs to run for cover". Vera played with fire, thought he could handle it and in the blink of an eye, he lost all control. (Thoughts?)
**ANGELA** I strongly suspect that Angela was also exposed to the same type of abuse when she was a child. Remember when the FBI agent noted that Angela "simply had a thing for old guys" after his attempt to pick her up? I think that this was a way for her to 'remember' what happened to her in her own childhood (and it wouldn't be too difficult to see Mr. Alderson also targeting her as well as Darlene and Elliot). It's a theory... but remember how foggy-minded and dissociative Angela often was... that was also a clue that her own mind was protecting her about something.
No, it was subverting the expectation, a common plot trick. We initially suspected that she was abused by her father, but the truth was her father abandoned her causing her daddy issues.
I disagree. I think it's a bit presumptuous to think that just because someone's into older men that means that they were abused as a child. I don't think her or Darlene were ever targeted- from how the show presents it, Edward made himself be close to and groomed Elliot, specifically. If the show wanted us to believe Darlene or Angela were ever abused, they would have made that very clear.
Eh, I think it's kind of a reach and I also think if that was the intention, the show would have treated it more respectfully and would have actually been more way more forthcoming about it
It makes more sense that Angela's traumas are solely related to the loss of her mom and her (adoptive) father being slightly 'off'. He never loved her the way she needed, while he may have been perfectly pleasant and caring as a father, something was missing. I think this is apparent with how easily he turned against her when she started working for E-Corp. While she did not know the reason, she must've felt that, causing her to seek approval of other older men to feel that closeness.
Usually I am pretty good at figuring out twists before they come, which is why I rather not think about it when I watch tv series, but this one really caught me off guard. The idea that such a situation as a father sexually abusing his son is just alien to me. I guess I often forget its a thing because I rather not accept that its a reality around the world.
I 100% thought it was physical abuse or some other shit like psychological abuse I never thought it was like this I guess I didn't want to think it could've been this.. I
Been waiting for this episode‘s reaction since the beginning not gonna lie but also really looking forward to the rest of the show cause all the episodes are really great.

In the first episode Elliot is making justice against a person that put pedo's content on the internet, isn't it?! If that so, it makes it all even more great.
Please watch "March comes in like a lion". It's one of the most beautiful animes I've ever seen. I've never seen another show, live action or anime, which made me believe the characters to be actual human beings. I think you two would really fall in love with that show.
I don't know what specifically tipped them off but there are multiple many hints in the show, some examples: - Dissociative identity disorders are caused by severe childhood trauma in a majority of cases. - Elliot "forgetting" his family (even his sister) hints the fact that family is part of his trauma. He didn't forget his mother, just the people involved in the incident so you could extrapolate that it had to do with his sister or his father. - Either his dad pushed him out of the window or he jumped out of the window, fleeing from his father. Both of those possibilities hint at his father causing him severe pain. - Elliot's reaction after his father collapsed in the cinema is really weird. Also Mr. Robot shows up. - Elliot doesn't like to be touched. - His father's insistence on "not talking about something" (Elliot's mind turns it into the cancer).
@@B20C0 Thanks for the explanation. Elliot and Darlene speaking ill of their mother drew me away from the possibility of his dad actually being the person who abused him. And Darlene not knowing about Elliot being abused also kinda makes sense hence she was only 4. The other points you made do make it quite obvious when I look at it now.
They have super powers for some story elements for sure. I was also shocked, but saw it kinda coming from when it was revealed he jumped out the window etc.
@@jimmyinfamous9664 Also in the season 3 finale Darlene revealed what happened on the day he jumped out the window. She said they where looking for a camera in Elliot's room when their dad arrived home. Elliot hid her in the closet before picking up a bat and freaking out when their dad entered. He then threatened to jump out the window - which he did This really made them suspicious about the dad, and his possible dark secret
I didn't expect it when I watched it live when it aired. I was much more focused on the main stories of the show less on the nuances of the dialog that L&M discuss. I also didn't have someone to spend hours discussing the show with going over every little detail lol

These 5 Acts correspond with the stages of grief:
Stage 1: Denial - Elliot is in denial about the whole situation
Stage 2: Anger - Mr. Robot goes in on Vera
Stage 3: Bargaining - Elliot bargains for Krista's life
Stage 4: Depression - The whole twist
Stage 5: Acceptance - Vera helped him accept what happened
This whole episode went directly to my core memory when i watched it back in the day
He exists to protect Elliot, then you remember that time in Jail when he went into a sitcom to avoid facing that Craig Robinson and the jail guys were beating him up and Mr Robot ate that for him.
The worst part is when you realize that Elliot's ultimate protector, Mr Robot has the face of his ultimate monster, his father. Realizing that you have to look at them as two separate entities is so wild to me.
"he was my best friend"
😢
It's just so fucking painful.
sending you so much love
thanks for sharing your story. you're so strong, therapy saved my life too and im so happy for a breakthrough story. congrats on your progress
i was able to distance myself when it would be depicted aswell. but this episode got me, chilling, it made me physically ill and i threw up after the episode finished. i really wanted elliot and his father's relationship to just be normal. i didn't want to think too much about the window or why he acted like that in the theater. very few pieces of media get me like this, it's like 3 movies i cant sit through again for hitting way too close. this episode is no different.
The pain you went through cannot be put into any words, eloquent or not. By expressing yourself like you did here, you release more of that pain you endured. And moreover, you allow others to face the same pain they may be holding in as well and allow them to share in the strength you have found within yourself.
You have weathered the storm, it has made you unbreakable.
The entire ep is shot like a stage play and every act represents the five stages of grief
Good point. I never thought of that. If Edward was speaking to Mr Robot mostly from then on in Elliot wouldn’t know
@@lorrainecasey749it would make sense since Elliot tells Mr. Robot that from then on his father never talked or even looked at him even until death. When we can see that wasn't at all true.
same. liek you said, the clues were there, but i thought "is this show going to go there". thats the only doubt i had is if they had the balls to go there
When I watched Ozymandias for the first time I was sure nothing would ever beat it, Then Mr robot came around. This episode is a masterpiece and it will go down in history as one of the greatest works of Art ever created.
There are a few other great episodes of tv like this and Ozymandias succession just had one this season
@@kdizzle901 The succession ep was no where near close to the level of this and ozymandias
The script was pretty avg and most of the ep was just people reacting to the news of logan dying.

Also she's a respected psychiatrist with probably a long history of service, and Vera obviously had a criminal record
No court would ever convict her, nor would any DA even attempt to prosecute her.
We finally arrived at this point. Wow. What an amazing episode of TV. The acting, music, directing. It pains me that Season 4 of Mr Robot had the lowest ratings, because this is amazing TV.
Yeah, well, what matters is that we watched it
No way, ep 7 is one of the most highly rated TV episodes in IMDB. It has a rating of 9.9 along with some episodes of BCS & BB
❤❤
When Vera said that when people overcome this kind of trauma, they become the storm... I felt that deeply.
The music, the act structure, the camera work, the entire episode feeling like a play on a stage, the building storm; this episode kept it “💯 👍 👍”
And how poetic that Vera is killed with the same knife that he used to kill Shayla. And Krista is the best. Honestly what a superhero. Love her to death as a character she is so wonderful. It’s hard to pick favorites in a show where ever actor gives an absolutely astonishing performance, but I think Vera is one of my favorites in terms of how well his actor plays him. Such a captivating character
Can’t wait for you guys to see where the ride continues to take us from here 😊
I've seen many horrors in my life, for movies to gore videos on the internet. Yet this is the episode that makes my breathing shaky; stomach on the edge of puking; hand shakey; and eyes filled with tears. This episode just fucking hurts you, man.
Still the darkest plot twist of all time
I find it weird how some people in the fandom thought Vera was helping Elliot.
15:13 Me too, Vera... me too
side note but i love how Esmail relates HTTP status codes to each episode in a deep way. it's not just "haha it starts with 4 and its season 4" but the actual title of the error code does fit the episode even if its minor.
in 407, it's proxy authentication. and, think about it.
I have been waiting for the cry-along!
Why you gotta compare 2 masterpieces?
@@imadterkmani3736 Because Lola said that for her both episodes are on the same level, while for me it isn't, so I gave my opinion in the comment section, what's wrong with that?😅
@@abdou9888 oh I didn't watch when Lola said that my bad, I just think they're completely different
@@abdou9888 I agree
You are comparing this ep. or any other episode with a sh!tty cartoon? BRUH.
vera wasn’t helping elliot tho, the whole point of his baseball story and the words ‘i see you now’ are to show he’s a manipulator. he completely shattered both the bully and elliot to make them vulnerable and then ‘build them up’ and act like a friend to get what he wanted e.g a partner, power and money with Elliot. that’s why Krista stabbed him, so his trauma doesn’t get used for Vera’s gain.
However, it was through the struggle of realization from Elliot he truly cared for him and the fragility of Elliot’s position.
one of the best episodes of the tv series
it's really disturbing that vera tried to confront elliot after the reveal even tho he considered r*ping krista earlier.
"You´re just sick and don´t wanna admit it"
Literally the best episode of this series and one of the best episodes of all time
I personally think its tied between it and Hello Elliot.Cant decide which is better tho.
This episode is a master piece, I've never seen anything like it
Yea, ladies.
One of the single greatest episode of all time. Absolutely amazing performances all round
It's been 84 years.
10/10 best episode of any tv show of all time
Yes Elliot doesn’t like being touched 😢it was there from episode one 😭😭 so heartbreaking
I have been waiting for this moment since you started watching the series. This single episode of TV is more powerful than entire drama series even aspired to be.
I can’t understand why this show is so unpopular
It has a cult following though and I do think it will age well. It's gonna be spoken about a lot more in 10 years when people look back at the great TV in the past. And to be fair, it's basically a modernday cyberpunk show without people even realizing. It deals with the typical themes in cyberpunk in much greater detail and hits way closer to home than many people would like to admit or think about. As the years and technology progresses and people become more introspective, it will become even more relevant.
Mr. Robots Ozymandias
Could it really be? Am I dreaming? Is the episode that we were all waiting for finally up?
It can't be.
This one deserves the nr 1 spot a lot more over Ozymandias ( which is also incredible )
It used to be n1 last year
*Easily one of my personal highlights of the series. What an episode.*
This is genius at work.. I rated this episode 10/10 on IMDB when I saw it all those years ago and I went back to IMDB after watching your reaction video to make sure my rating was saved...
Ooooh boy here it is! Been waiting for this reaction since you started Mr Robot!!! Best episode ever!
Wow, the way Milena was visibility shaking during the reaction... Just wow. What an episode.
Now that scene in the theater where his dad collapses and Elliot doesnt care makes so much more sense.
elliot villar and rami malek. remember their names. fucking amazing actors.
Man, I've been waiting so long for this. This is *the* episode, the one above all.
Elliot Villar My Man!! My Man!! what a force to be reckoned with such a well executed performance as Vera....👏👏
The whole of humanity is living a dissociative life.
We made it. My best TV episode of all time.

When the lights goes off.... It's scaryy man
Does anybody else think that it should have been Elliot that killed Vera?
(Thoughts?)
I believe that this twist overturns perception
We are here for this masterclass of an episode
@@wickedymike I 100% agree

Usually I am pretty good at figuring out twists before they come, which is why I rather not think about it when I watch tv series, but this one really caught me off guard.
The idea that such a situation as a father sexually abusing his son is just alien to me. I guess I often forget its a thing because I rather not accept that its a reality around the world.

Been waiting for this episode‘s reaction since the beginning not gonna lie but also really looking forward to the rest of the show cause all the episodes are really great.
mr robot ending ther is a lot of interpretation, wish Sam Esmail didnt confirm and let them open mind for people to interpret, they very complicated, ther is many thing you can say wish i cant say here cause they are spoilers, and those interpretation can change the whole meaning of the end wish can be true or stick with the ending close to eyes wish it also can be true, but if you use anaylze you can see other endings wish can be true, it like mr robot have many ending , some are secret some are not, it like a system ending wish stick to the plot about hacking etc etc, the ending is like a system of many endings, it a like a bug of endings for me. i can say some theory wish can people agree and some cant , and thos theory have confirmation in the story if you take carfully to the detailles and eastereggs, and they can be denied with other detailles but the detailles that denied thos interpretation can also have open interpretation wish leads to the final interpretation that the ending have many endings you can choose, but no one can be sure that it the right end.

As you wrap this up...any chance Firefly is on your radar?
I don't understand how they know his dad was an asshole before the reveal. Am I the only one who was shocked with that plot twist?
I don't know what specifically tipped them off but there are multiple many hints in the show, some examples:
- Dissociative identity disorders are caused by severe childhood trauma in a majority of cases.
He then threatened to jump out the window - which he did
This really made them suspicious about the dad, and his possible dark secret
