Lucky you, I never had the stones to try something like that, even as a kid. But I did do it as an adult in a secured environment (basically an adventure park dedicated to that activity), and I was still terrified by the height. Never again.

My favorite movie of all time! Even though I've only seen it three times. Still an S-tier film and a solid adaptation of the original novel from the 1950s. Being animated helps, as the special effects for tiny people may not work as well in live-action. I'm more used to this than any other adaptation and even the novel.
The first Studio Ghibli movie that I watched. I remember being six years old, with my brother, without knowing what we were doing and going to a movie festival just to watch this. Feels very nostalgic. Saw it again, almost teared up. That memory will always have a place on my heart.
It was actually my first ever Ghibli film. And after watching this film I really fell in love with Ghibli movies. Still don't understand, why this is so much underrated.

I'm Brazilian, I know this film as a child, it was part of my childhood, even until today I hadn't watched many films from Ghibli Studios. Every time I listen to this song it makes me want to go back to the past where everything was simple and nostalgic.
Fell in love with Ghibli back in the early internet days when it was just VHS copies of fan subs. I was so happy when Arrietty came to a local theatre and I was able to finally see one of their productions on the big screen. My daughter was elementary school aged at the time, so I'd shown her titles like Kiki's Delivery Service and Totoro. She was even more excited to watch Arrietty than I was!
