- Stephan Forté's virtuosity and fierce imagination have been lighting up the sound of France's dark prog metallers Adagio since 2001. Range, invention, and dramatic tension of his style sharpen the edge of neoclassical guitar and re-define what it means to be a shredder. After five albums with Adagio, Forté's solo debut "The Shadows Compendium" leaps into the stratosphere, uniting highly technical chops,
romanticism and spectacular narratives. Acclaim follows from guitar gurus such as Jason Becker, and Marty Friedman invites him to support his 2012 European tour. Stéphan is at the moment putting the final touches to the writing of his second solo album, which is without any doubt about to raise the shred game to the next level.
Stéphan Stéphan is the best guitarist in my opinion. clean...precise...intelligence...a great composer...I'm waiting to release his Ibanez guitar and I'm buying 😊🎶
Super overlooked and criminally unknown guitarist. Can't believe it's 20 years since Adagio's "Underworld" was released. Stéphan's best work, must have listened through that album about 200 times.
dude really this is amazing 3 years later i still haven't find another guitar video that sounds soo good like this one.... you are top tier with jason becker, yngwie, vai, satriani etc...
great playing, great guitar, great stuff!!!!!!!
Un véritable génie, c est magnifique je me sens transporté. Qu elle niveau bravo MR Forté 🤘
Amazing Knowledge of Music Theory first of al!!
Huge tone, awesome shred!
METAL!
For me the Premium series is the best of Ibanez guitars, I mean....nice look, good finishes, amazing sound, excellent series pick-up and not too expensive. Includes a professional sound like the Prestige series but with an affordable price. Good job Ibanez :)
I love the premium series as well but this incredible demand drove the price up. The quilted maple models started of with the equivalent of 800 dollars where I live and now its 1000. The solid black rg870 was an amazingly affordable 700 dollar model. Now they discontinued that. Right now I think blackjack SLS FR passive models are strong contenders for the price costing about 800
yup
i still have my ultra violet
its fucking the best guitar ive ever played
I think he found the keys to the Lamborghini
JAJAJAJAJAJAJA
Quel immense musicien! On reste ébloui par son génie musical.
On attends la suite Stéphan, à défaut d'Adagio je m'en contenterais à l'aise!!
JUST PERFECT SHRED, AWESOME...
Probably my favorite music video of the past three years. Just incredibly beautiful.
Forté on the Vai's Satriani's and other Musical Identities list!!! the list of "Style"
Sublime. Bravo
Well it's been an amazing year for me...I discovered Jeff Loomis, Keith Merrow, Nick Johnston and now Stehpan Forte! I know these guys have all been around for a long time but I sorta hadn't listened to shred masters for a few years and have just gotten back into it. Awesome!!!
Spaceboy74 also "Christian Muenzner" and "The Francesco Artusato Project"... assuming you don't already know those two guys
+Daniel G and Rob Marcello
+Enki Earthwaker Nice old school stuff! Reminds me of Michael Romeo.
+Spaceboy74 look up for gus drax.
Do not forget to check out Rusty Cooley, Teodore Ziras, Alex Hutchings, Rick Graham, Matthew Mills and Francesco Fareri among others.
Greetings from Spain.
what a masterpiece... god
Great ! we now await the Stephan's album and also his new signature guitar Ibanez
This guy has Wicked chops listen at 4:05 when he starts bending those strings, sounds so fuken good bro, very under rated player, so much talent!!!
Thanks a lot man ! :) Stéphan
+Stéphan Forté
Yw bro ! You should come play some day up here in Canada, maybe Ottawa bluesfest, its a pretty big festival, check it out ! Hey and make some more short videos plsss ! Cheers!!
Stéphan Forté Stephan, thanks for Fame! It's fucking great !!!
Stéphan Forté Reasons like 4:07-4:42 is why you became a favorite Guitarist to me. The passion you add to your playing just does it for me and it can clearly be heard. Having one of the best Vibratos in the business, gives me the chills every time. Been following ever since I first heard your work on Sanctus Ignis. Also the slow solo that starts at 2:46 on Panem et Circences, can't get enough of it. Love your playing, always will!
Yes I agree Drew , He plays with such melodic bends, just give me the bumps, I see alot of Marty and Jason's influences on Stephan, hopefully some day Steph, will get the recognition he deserves ! He is truly a force to be reckon with! 7 STRING WIZARD!!
Mi melodía favorita de él, es grande! Amo esa melodía, no he parado de escucharla!
Very cool and unpredictable! Excellent!
Dont know if stephan read this but i see him the last year touring with yossi sassi and marty friedman and man...he deserves a signature model! Congratulations!!
Muchas felicidades!
Mr.Stephan Fortè
Mi melodía favorita de Stéphan.
i love this song! duat for those that wonder
You is very good
This guitar is amazing
Это просто невероятно...👍👍👍
Yeah ! it rocks !
me encanta¡¡¡
so badass!
give him his own sig already
They're too busy making Ben Bruce and Jessie Ketive guitars so they can keep making piss poor music (:
ugh dont remind me
You can't bring me down!
this is how you play guitar people. real talent doesnt its due rewards.
oooh this tigle bones and brain ooh nice
If it came in blue then I would get it tomorrow (and I only just got my first 7 string 2 days ago!)
Is this a specific song of his and does anyone know which one
Yes, it's called Duat. But I think this version is much better.
jesus christ.. that feel
Any idea what pickups he's using here?
Pretty sure they are the stock IBZ/Dimarzio's that come with most premiums and old prestige's.
2:19 Duncan's, maybe ?
8BITisAlwaysBetter
Absolutely No. You can clearly see the slash / between dimarzio/IBZ in 2:08. Also think, why would he/ibanez allow him not use the stock pick-ups from this model for this DEMO? Dimarzio/IBZ are good pick-ups I would not change them If I had this guitar. They are very similar to the tone zone/air norton with just a bit more bite (treble).
💜🎸
what scales he use???
mostly harmonic minor. He also uses diminished scale ;)
everything
harmonic
major
diminished
whole tone
chromatics
I have that guitar! My tone, however, is nowhere as good as this guys!
This person is a very good guitar player, I've been playing for over 30 years I've been a Gibson man. when I hear so many guitarists on Ibanez type guitars with Vibrato bars it usually all sounds like stuff that's been done before, Satriani, Steve Vai. I think that Eddie Van Halen is about the only 1 who don't sound generic. when this guy brought note up with bar. I'd get the effect by the bend that I use. Harmonic picking, overbend etc.
Sean Bean brought me here!
Duat!!
Ah, il l'aime la corde de Sol...
La Rumeur disait qu'il n'y avait point de français dans les commentaires de ce chef d'œuvre.
the entire thing seems very disconnected where is the intro where the main motive where is the verse - it’s all over the place that said some sections sound cool and unique 😒
i have both a premium and prestige and honestly prefer the premium...
Arggghhhhh 999 likes on the 30 december 2018...
Dear Mr. Stéphan Forté! So plz tell me: Wtf were you doing??? I just couldn't enjoy the whole video from the begining because I was not able to get through the fact that you're laying that beautiful Ibanez Premium guitar on those damned chains...I didn't really listen to the whole music. All I saw and felt was "OMG he's gonna' scratch it now...ohh it is safe now...wow a loverly guitar and a guy is shredding on it...oh no it will surely be scratched now...ahh no it's safe again"...and so on...etc.
People get too sentimental about guitars. Guitars that are played get scratched, nicked, dented, beat up. It gives them character and personality.
MK4vDubbin totally agree, he sred it, only thing that matters
who cares? lmao
I verbal text and sometimes this thing gets what I say wrong, when I was trying to say I've it added that stuff between the I and ve. I not putting this person down I can appreciate what he's doing, but you haven't seen any guitarists lately that stand out without using a bar. but then again my influenza is having your scale players. Steve Howe, Al Di Meola, Michael Schenker, Rik Emmett and so on. I don't think Joe Bonamassa uses a bar on any of his guitars. can anybody relate to what I'm saying
I understand what you mean. But having a whammy gives a player distinctive vibrato and radical pitch bending effects that would otherwise have to be manipulated electronically. I have just one guitar with a whammy, but at least it's one with the Ibanez Edge. :)
edu falachi guitars
premium ok but youll be better off saving for a prestige. From an owner of both series
Très bonne technique, ok, mais piètre compositeur. Bien loin de son maître Yngwie en tout cas.
And a crazed, repetitive shred of distorted scales is music because???
go listen to classical music
you musically illiterate fuck
Sorry guys. Great technician. Kudos for giving the shredding a crack. However there was absolutely NO dynamics. And the backing tracks sounded like some automated Yngwie signature ZOOM unit. When ya running dirt with that much gain, its hard to have hot/cold playing (dynamics). You are a excellent guitarist and can shred. But dude get some light n shade in yr playing. Thats the difference between a good guitarist and a brilliant one.
I agree and I like his playing and phrasing from the first two Adagio albums. I tend to be more impressed by the acoustic guitar players, especially the Classically trained ones. They have to work really hard to create tones and dynamics, and yet some of them do this with real musicality. I'm not a fan of the modern Metal sound which to my ears sounds dry, thin, brittle and over distorted.
Now if you want to hear a true genius at work with full dynamics, I would listen to Allan Holdsworth who sadly died in April 2017, and was also from my hometown of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. If you watch his live videos on RUclips, you will see him constantly adjusting his gain levels and everything else to extract as much expression as possible. He was a complete perfectionist and always searching for his best performance. The world's greatest most lauded guitarists of the last 50 years, all came forward to (a) pay for his funeral (b) say how in awe of Allan they were (c) they had no idea how the hell he did what he did (d) how his musical system worked.
jajajajajajajaja
there is wich is greater!!! there is "Style"
Hahah! Paul van zelst playing blues with his buddies in a garage 4 times a year in front of 15 people, lecturing Stefan Forte who played in front of dozens of thousand people in large festivals, and tours with Marty Friedman... Get the first 2 Adagio albums and figure out what style he's playing, and apreciate the genius in composing those, both are flawless (In a style you probably cannot comprehend).
He fucking rules.
So is he now with Ibanez? If so is he getting custom model? Kinda stoked about all this.
Yes he is. He said on his facebook profile that a signature model will be available soon.
It was about time!
Although, i prefer a used Prestige to a Premium. Had 2 and sold them to buy Prestiges or MIJs.
